  1. I don't think that LP would incorrectly call it Apaches intro. Maybe Apaches was the demo title for UIB, as well? After they combined the three demos, the might have not called the song Until It Break from the very beginning, but rather call it Apaches until they figured out a name.

That was my first thought, too. But I'm pretty sure the title of the final song was already finished when they started rehearsing the intro. So it would make more sense to refer to it as UIB Verse 3 or simply UIB Intro. I always thought they call it Apaches intro because it is the part of the song where it was coming from. Very weird...
  2. This is why we have two separate news sections, "Got News?" is open for everybody and users can post every little/big thing here, and the "Newswire" which is basically the homepage, is for wide-interest news so it's more "filtered".

For example, I chose to post the Facebook Q&A With Mike Shinoda thread in the "Got News" because I knew it'll not gonna have anything "exciting".

Not everybody care that the second section in LP Recharge is open now or about re-re-re-re-re-issue release of Hybrid Theory vinyl as much as they care about new albums or shows threads.

    :)

The sticky says that this sub forum is supposed to be news that the admins/mods (whoever can post in the newssection) missed so people can submit them and if they are newsworthy they will get moved. At least that's what I always thought it is.
  3. Does he say 3 and half million polygons towards the end of the video? That's not very much, if that's supposed to be the entire city, maybe it was put out of the context.

I think the number is realistic. If you take a look at all the stuff you see almost no details. Even the big models of them seem to be done pretty badly in terms of details.

  4. My problem with that price is that in my opinion every fan who wants it should be able to buy it. That means if someone really wants it he can go ahead and say "well it costs a shitload of money but it's worth it for me so I won't buy other stuff for the next few weeks. In the end it's my favorite band and I want to sacrifice some stuff for it".

But with this price it is pretty much not affordable for a lot of fans. 420€ is all my money for one month for example. I guess that's a bit too high and it separates the bands into rich ones who can afford this and people who would love to buy it but simply can't. not cool.

  5. It's beneficial for them to say on Warner but they might go independent if it means they can release music quicker and more often. We will see. Trent Reznor didn't earn much when NIN went independent and it was stressful when they had to market out the albums, etc so he went with Columbia for this latest album. I would rather LP go independent, or start their own label, versus stay on Warner but I'm not sure what'll happen.

I think after LIVING THINGS they have one more right to fulfill their contract?

He offered The Slip for free. How much money can he expect? :-D

I think he also mentioned it's a lot about marketing, since it's much harder to do huge stuff without the manpower behind it.

For the contract stuff: do we have a source for it? Or is this just a rumor that is going around since forever (I think after MtM people started to say things like '1 or 2 more albums and their contract is fulfilled').

  6. Does anybody know whether this counts towards Linkin Park's album count for Warner?

People still think the band wants to leave Warner? People always talk about how many albums are left and things but where do the contract details come from? And why is everyone assuming the band WANTS to leave them?
  7. You should update your Adobe Flash Player too (for the Safari, Chrome updates it automatically).

It checks for the required version ;)

Try to deactivate the build-in flash player in Chrome and download it from adobe.com. I had so much troubles with the build-in version on my laptop.

  8. But if they took the time to develop bands with genuine substance they'd have guaranteed magazine-sellers for years to come rather than the next few months. The whole music industry, including journalism, only wants to focus on the short term sell and that simply doesn't work in the rock world. I understand and agree with what you're saying but the focus is on making a quick buck rather than long term investment in the scene.

So you're saying magazines should risk all their money for a few years just to help some new artists with absolutely no guarantee for profit at all? Yeah, seems pretty reasonable for me ;)
