  1. HT > Meteora > ATS = MTM > LT After a few days i can only say Living Things is (in German it would be 'ausgelutscht') so wasted and jaded. it's just simple pop rock with electronica, apart from a few exceptions (victimized or until it breaks) and not even close to their early material. i can't stand the fact that nowadays, 80% of a Linkin Park concert crowd are holding a camera to keep the memorys of a 'such a fantastic super duper' day instead of celebrating heavy crossover music by moshing, dancing and jumpin as it used to be on a concert in their early days. why did they gave that away? RaR 2001 or 2004 must be way more satisfying than playing Iridescent or In my Remains will ever be. I know about their age but good and aggressive music can last into every age.
  2. i like to see a mess on a linkin park record somehow. something that doesn't fit in. it doesn't need to grow, a fist-punch doesn't need to grow
  3. Maybe coz it's fuckin fast, fuckin heavy and fuckin rock'n'roll?!?!
  4. I'm not disapointed by the album but it's far from being original , creative or good. Lost In The Echo: 8/10 In My Remains: 3/10 Burn It Down: 5/10 Lies Greed Misery: 7/10 I'll Be Gone: 4/10 Castle Of Glass: 7/10 Victimized: 9/10 Roads Untraveled: 7/10 Skin To Bone: 3/10 Until It Breaks: 7/10 Tinfoil: 2/10 Powerless: 3/10
  5. so i listened to it as a whole for the first time. i'm more a rock/metal-orientated listener: highlights: lost in the echo, !victimized!, and parts of until it breaks (rap is sickest so far), parts of castle of glass (nice atmosphere) and parts of roads untraveled In my remains is boring and bad. i'll be gone has a nice refrain but misses a good and fresh bridge or guitar solo, too bad. skin to bone and powerless, can't even remember them, electro pop(rock) stuff that nobody really needs. first impression after listening once: it's an okay album giving it 5/10. should be a good album for the chart orientated pop/rock-electronic listeners, a bad one for those who were expecting a heavy album
  6. you didn't understand my intention. i know that there are guitar layers and parts in most of the songs. Nevertheless they are more in the background and distorted in such a way that you can't consider them clearly as guitars in a classic way. i know there isn't a lack of guitars but a lack of distorted guitars as main instrument just like on HT. if someone says, there are no guitars on ATS, he doesn't mean "there are no guitars" but he means that they are not that dominant and hearable throughout. can we leave it like that now?
  7. it's not the most guitar oriented, but (when there are guitars) it has the most clear and honest sound to the guitars, that what makes it really metal rock and alternative. indeed
  8. thanks for the correction. imo guitar is a more important instrument than other ones like a bass,a keyboard or the turntables even though they're of course necessary. therefore i missed the distortion of the guitar, not the guitar itself as many other point out that 'the guitars left' i think i get your idea and i also love how they mix and arrange different things from different style but an old classic rock song in between all of that electronica would be nice. that's what missing so far. well let's finish it with the conclusion that we both know what the other person wants to say
  9. ehm, do you know how a guitar sounds? i think i prefer the sound of the hybrid theory era tbh, though i don't wanna critizice the beginning of the song negatively. omg, now i am a huge fan of this song . if i only had known this! damn it!
  10. Song Guitar The Requiem No The Radiance Nope BITS Yeah, clearly hearable Empty Space No, obviously WTCFM yeah some in the bridge Robot Boy lol, no Jornada del Muerto No Waiting for the end A bit, let's give it a yes Blackout No Wretches and Kings Somewhere under the huge bass lines is a guitar sound WJaL No Iridescent Yes at the end^^ Fallout No The Catalyst somewhere slightly in the middle and the end The Messenger Yeah, clear accoustic guitar, hell yeah oh so, how couldn't i hear those overwhelming power of almighty guitar power on ATS. i mean most of the guitars were discovered only after 4 times of listening. For all those who wanna know what a guitar is: Watch the epic video of OSC, brad has one in his hand. after this wall of irony. i really like ATS, i think it's a cool project of the band and i still look forward to the new album. i'm not against electronic stuff, but pls let victimized be a hardcore rocker!
  11. I know and there are guitars in LITE, BID and LGM, too but i mean real loud distorted guitars like on One Step Closer not guitars that are very low in the mix and overwhelmed by electronic stuff. i am excited how this electronic record turns out...
  12. 'lost in the echo' reminds me a bit of a metalcore structure. unfortunately those are electronic tones instead of guitar sounds but we'll see what the rest brings. IMR clear disappointment. IBG finally some clear guitars but doesn't seem special so far, more like What I've Done or something
  13. I know, it's off-topic. but why are there no snippets of the new album on amazon or whatever. or why hasn't the album leaked yet, it's 11 days before the official release
  14. don't you think they have enough money? go to their concerts or turn the music loud in your car. it's the feeling for an album, it's the way you want to realize a thing by someone else that is important to you.
  15. let's now change numb into QWERTY and BTH into NMS, then they are heading for the direction i like kick-ass performance of APMFH. unfortunately the crowd is not prepared for that. this is a song to move to. a song to mosh your brain out. not a "oh i will make a video out of it so that i can sing it with my friends at home and remain at the same position"- song.
  16. nice post by mike. he's right about that this feeling gets a bit lost in times of (music) life being centered on the internet. but anyway, as soon as it leaks, i will dl it and listen to it. depending on the quality we'll see what happens then...
  17. yeah, for sure, it will return. just like other singles like numb, in the end,.. crawling will remain in the repeating section. many old fans know it and even neutral "rockers" on a festival have heard about that song.
  18. Crawling (studio) is an emotional kick-ass song but live only back on the ozzfest-days. it is overplayed and chester cannot perform it anymore with the power and strength the song deserves.
  19. sometimes there must be a change, and this is a good one.
  20. Yeah, what a hell of a setlist, you couldn't ask for more! butmaybe, APFMH was only played due to the problems on New Divide. finally a show without crawling!
  21. I have only seen the three pro shot videos but i'm really glad how the band performed. this performance was way better than rar 2007. i haven't seen so many ppl moshing to BIO and Numb in a while. so stop about the lame crowd thing, we should get the rest of the show....
  22. ok, for sure blackout or new divide or wtcfm are new and surprising but you need to get used to that. HT worked on all levels from the beginning and was as simple as it can be. it felt right and nobody could complain for anything. do you know what i try to describe?^^
  23. i mean more like the papercut or qwerty effect :-p
  24. i haven't heard something like 'wow, great and sick song, flashing me instantly!' by a lp fan for like 3 or 4 years.
