  1. NoBrain did a little article with LPA (I think it was) regarding the experiences. Then during the 2010 ATS tour, there was a note on the setlists with something along the lines of "(w/ NoBrain sample)" after WTCFM. The prize was to have your remix featured and do a little work on an LP song, as mentioned.

  2. Of course people are going to cover Chester. He was a voice of a generation, and people want to celebrate his voice, his music, and his life in different ways, and one way that is what I see to be one of the most respectful is singing his songs.

Geki: You said you sing his songs sometimes in the past. If they cant, why should you? Does that mean youre gay too?

Look, its fine not to like something, but be respectful about it. Not everyone will have the same view as you, and whilst youre entitled to your opinion, youre also entitled to bite your tongue every now and then. Just because you CAN say it, doesnt necessarily mean you SHOULD. Be tasteful.

  3. They even used What I've Done from the album for Transformers, the biggest movie hit of 2007, totally selling out. And then Leave Out All The Rest from the album a year later with Twilight, I mean c'mon man...

Just a FYI, they were originally going to use In The Darkness by Dead By Sunrise in Twilight, but it would have meant they couldn't release it on Out Of Ashes, so Chester suggested LOATR. Let's also keep in mind the world was rather unaware of Twilight before the movies. Agreed that they had a following prior to the movie but it was the movie that made it mainstream.

  4. But the time that rolls around it will be time for LPU18. We probably won’t get any music for it either, if we didn’t at all for LPU17. LPU16 is such a shitty LPU release and it will suck if it’s the final one.

Mate, you're jumping the gun and being completely insensitive.

We've lost the singer to our favourite band, but you can't compare the pain we feel to the pain his 5 closest friends feel. Mike made it obvious that any prolonged time listening hurts him. At this moment in time, he can't do it, let alone sit through untold amounts of content with his late best friends voice.

  5. Geki, I thought you left because you're not a fan? :D
In all seriousness, you're out of your mind man. Your suggestions are awful! (not having a dig, they just seem crazy haha)

Oli is an AWFUL live singer. Unfortunately had too many experiences seeing this... Shadows would forget lyrics all the time - he hardly remembers his own hahaha.

Jon Greene would be good for the clean stuff, though ideally we'd need one person who can do both. Shadows COULD do that, but we need someone who isn't active currently.

  6. Really interesting info. Finally it's about to ship.

Next campaign needs to be for the JK/DBS video archive they have, to make that into a documentary.

Also to add to your list: They called Jonathan Davis and asked if they could open his solo tour.

Funny you say this, Ryan recorded every DBS show on the European tour on his camcorder (on a tripod) - would be nice to get some of these released!

  7. I was around in 2005 where Mike was saying Fort Minor is Mike, and The Rising Tied is an album with friends (hence why it was Tied, not Tide) together.

If there are song titles that mention SOB or any members as featuring, then theyre not Fort Minor. You dont see LP songs featuring Brad Delson

  8. already planning a Japan visit for this, need to decide which city (or both Tokyo and Osaka)

Never been to Osaka but Tokyo is my favourite place on the planet. Went there in 2016 and going again in just under 2 months. Hit me up if you need some travelling tips! :)

  9. So we're back to the same routine with Geki, then? :D

Says he's done with LP > decides to insult people > gets banned > says he'll change and begs to come back > likes LP again > Says he's done with LP > decides to insult people > gets banned > says he'll change and begs to come back > likes LP again...

  10. This would back-fire so badly, it would be hilarious...

    Are you sure?

At best you'll get people in white masks protesting in cities, with no real result. Think about it, stuff like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. will all most likely remain untouched. Why? Because they're the most visited sites. With a vast majority of internet users that only use social media sites, this leaves the lesser used sites like LPLive at higher risk as they'll be prioritized much less.

It won't backfire half as much as you think because this vast majority of social-media-only users won't notice a change. The vast majority of users won't be part of an uprising because they're happy with how things are.

Check out Astat's tab page for tabs of all LP songs (he's currently working on OML) and tunings for respective songs. A thousand times better than any open-submit tab site!

  12.

Phoenix had to play Chester's guitar part and I think they are more complex than Phoenix's bass part so it was easier for Mike to sing and play bass than singing and playing Chester's guitar part. I hope you understand me. :D

Actually, nobody played Chester's part haha. Phoenix played a structure that hasn't been played live before, and the same semi-applies for Brad during the beginning. I guess these guitar parts are slightly more complex than the bass notes, making it easier for Mike to do backing vocals.

  13. I think Jon Green is a great "7th" member of the band. He can play, and he can sing. A lot of grey areas can be filled in with Jon, but there will still be some that remains for the heavy or aggressive vocalized tracks (OSC, Faint, BIO.)
Alternatively I could see Ryan Shuck fill the boots on some songs. He is a good singer with a great range.

I think Jonathan Davis or M. Shadows would be great to take out on tour for those heavy moments. The band could continue to produce music from all genres, including the heavy stuff but without screams (unless guested), but primarily keep it as a five piece, Jon as a seventh member, and the sixth slot kept unfilled.

I know physically what I said makes no sense, but it wouldn't feel right to say anyone else could be the 6th member of the band; Chester will always be there, even when it's not physical.

  14.

Yeah, possibly. Didn't think of that. I thought it was possibly Church since I haven't seen him around in a while, but then I realized that he spoke at Chester's funeral and also was shown by TMZ flipping off the camera on the day that Chester died. I guess it probably was Scott. I didn't know that he was friends with Scott. I knew Scott practically hated Chester (even having a fuck you Chester) chant at one of his shows in 2013) but Chester did look up to him, I think.

Church is still around, and was still Chester's friend. He fell out of the DBS/JK circle but was still friends with Chester.
