  1. Vinyl hasn't been the dominant medium of music in over twenty years. There are going to be tons of younger people who have no idea what a vinyl record is, because CDs and digital downloads are dominant now. That's like a seventy year old man being depressed by the fact that people don't know what shellac records are. Get over it.

    lmao

Anyways. I plan to buy this thing whenever it does come out. They should re-release all of the main albums.

  2. Jesus, this would be awesome. I never cared about vinyl really until I got the one in the 'Thousand Suns Box Set' or whatever it was from 2010. It was really cool and it made me want all of their albums on vinyl, lol.

On a side (aka sucky) note... The fact that some people don't even know what vinyl means in this context these days makes me realize how old I am. Some kids don't even know anything about records... It's effin nuts how different things were... even 10 years ago.

  3. Really? So how many of us know how to track said taper down? Going off of a username is a great lead, no? And face it, if the taper didn't want it distributed, he shouldn't have ever let it leave his possession. This whole 'not for trade' and 'rare trade' thing ruined the trading community as we all know that NT/NFT simply meant 'Offer me shit that I don't have and really, really want and it's yours'. You know this as well as anyone and your holier than thou attitude at this show having been uploaded is surprising. Please feel free to GTFO if you don't like it as LPL has made a business of releasing shows and I'll be damned if I'll let someone who's sharing a show be chastised for violating a mostly unwritten rule that some people still stubbornly live by.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. Thank you for calling out all the b/s right there and then. I gradually stopped trading in 2006/07 because of all of the b/s going on. Its hard to believe how it used to be in the early millennium compared to now. It used to be a good time and trying to see/hear as much LP as possible... Then it was all about greed and nonsense, and that's when I got out.

If you label your crap "NFT" and proceed to trade it regardless, eventually it's going to get out... That's just how it is. If you really had no plans to trade it, why would you put it on your damn list to begin with? Just to piss people off, and attempt to get more rare stuff? That's what you get I guess.

It's good to have a new LP source. Thank you for this, it's actually my favorite show from 2009 too so its awesome to have this new source.

  4. From everything I've heard/seen, the guy sounds like an ass actually. I mean, honestly, who is so bitter that he can't comment on things from a band nobody cares about anymore (besides a handful of people like us) from the early 90s?

That photo is so old school though, and it's nice to have it. Thanks for getting that info out of him... Hope it didn't inconvenience him too much...

  5. +1

I think LP sucked ass on PR08. Their sets and their showmanship. All tours have good and bad shows, but I think this one had way more lackluster shows than most. And yeah, I think the sets sucked ass. I still remember Chester forgetting the lyrics more on that tour than any other that comes to mind. The whole band seemed completely uninterested in what was going on over 50% of the time, and Busta Rhymes, one of the only acts that added some variety to the event, bailed early on. I don't know much about 10 Years, although saying that makes me want to check them out.

PR04 was the best. If you've been to multiple PR's you'd know why... It's not just about the show itself, but all of the other stuff. PR is an event, not just a concert, and PR04 delivered in that regard. Not to mention they actually had the bands that were popular among a lot of people. It had a little bit of everything in terms of style, which is what the whole point of the tour originally was. At the time it really was a revolution in a lot of ways, now its just a bland tour that's not too different than any others. Filled with a bunch of intolerant punks with a grandiose sense of entitlement and close minded ways of thinking that continue to bog down music in general.

  6. It was only after I threatened to dispute the charge with my bank and take legal ramifications if necessary that they actually gave me what I paid for. But that was early in the cycle with the Rock am Ring DSP... With all the fuck ups they've been having lately, they are likely swamped with e-mails. Basecamp blows. Their technology is clearly years and years behind current standards for music distribution. I'm personally never buying another DSP as long as they are the distributors.

  7. I don't know why everyone is so against medleys. In fact, I'd go as far to say that it's ridiculous.

If you see the verse, chorus, and bridge of most LP songs, you've pretty much seen all that the song has to offer anyway. If I get to see Papercut and Lying From You (albeit, shortened) I'd rather have the opportunity to see both songs than one or the other.

If we got the opportunity to see songs like Blackout, In Pieces, Easier To Run, TLTGYA, and Figure.09 again in medley form... I'd rather see shortened versions than not seeing them at all... I don't understand why other people don't feel the same way when most of you have bitched endlessly about wanting to see these songs again anyway.

I mean, take PR 04, besides fanboys who got on the train post-Meteora, a lot of people think this was the greatest set the band has ever played. (2012 may challenge that, but I'll stick to the point.) Step Up/Nobody's Listening/It's Goin Down (Hip-Hop Medley) was a prominent part of the set. That set would have been far less epic without that inclusion... Who the hell would've wanted to see one out of three as opposed to all three when we've all seen and heard them in full a million times anyway?

Such backwards logic from this place sometimes...

  8. nope!

the only time any part of Lying From You was played in an encore was Holmdel, NJ - 30.07.04 (as part of the Dirt Off Your Shoulder/LFY Mash-up)

funny that NJ gets LFY in an Encore twice, and both times as a mash-up!

hmmm... it's cool to see old stuff, but I'd still like to see some new LT song debuts

Will you all stop calling it a damn mash-up? Was Step Up/Nobody's Listening/It's Goin Down a mashup? No. Are any parts in these two songs mixed together? No. It's a medley, not a mash-up. Collision Course was full of mash-ups. If you can't see the difference, then there is a problem. You look like fools always using the wrong terminology on things, no offense. I understand that it said "mashup" on the setlist, but I honestly think it had more to do with Victimized/QWERTY since the argument could be made that it may be a mash-up... But certainly not LFY/Papercut.

I like Set C better anyway, although this one would've been the best if they didn't add Numb back in.

  9. I have infinite invites for What.CD, I can send out invites to anyone who hasn't had an account before.

'Hybrid Theory, are you the one who PM'd me over at LPBits?

I'd be very happy to get one if possible. I've always maintained at last a 1.00 ratio at any torrent site I've been to when possible. I'd appreciate it, because there is just not a lot of good places for that kind of stuff anymore.

  10. After reading the fanboys still gocking over ATS on LPA, I had a quick thought: I'm so glad LP put some damn energy back in their songs! Being a huge LP fan for 10 years, I really am very pleased with LT, especially since it was less than a 2 year wait. Hopefully they expand upon LT and don't forget their roots like did on ATS.

    /last ATS diss

I used to get pissed when you'd pop off at the mouth and ramble on with opinions as if they were facts. But now I can see how much it honestly bothers you how much people liked ATS.. And it must piss off all of the people who couldn't enjoy it. You had to sit around and cry for two years (so about 6 years if you liked Minutes to Midnight; and like 10 if you didn't) with nothing while the rest of us got to enjoy a great album. That must have sucked.

Living Things grew on me as I thought it would. I even bump 'Skin To Bone' on occasion. Great album... Here's the order of my favs from most to least.

  12. Eff No More Sorrow. I got so sick of that song after hearing it non stop in the live sets for like five years straight... Not to mention it didn't change at all for three of those years.

They should just say screw the casual crowds and drop Numb, Breaking The Habit, Crawling, New Divide, What I've Done and company, and keep all of the cool songs we aren't going to hear for sure when album #6 rolls around.

It's cool to pay the money if you can take advantage of their offers, but most of the time unless you have a lot of free time or money, it's simply not worth it...

Yep, 31 songs. But a bitchin setlist worthy of it. I put a lot of thought into this one.

  16. Holly didn't leave Machine Shop because of that lol, she left because they shafted her along with SOB, etc when it came to albums and recording.

You should learn to read more thoroughly before you claim I'm wrong.

I said she recorded this version because of what happened with the MTV award... I said that, and many other things led to her leaving Machine Shop.

I've followed Holly from her signing to Machine Shop up until her leaving Machine Shop. I read the blog she posted on her MySpace saying exactly what I posted, also where she asked that her fans request her version of 'Where'd You Go' over Fort Minor's.

I find it funny how you stepped into this thread because you thought you could prove someone wrong and not to actually answer the question this thread posed (which is what I did)

Funny, and a little sad. Your head hasn't gotten any smaller with age I see.

  17. I don't want to pay money to see shitty songs like Meteora/HT songs live. Ew. That was for 2000-2004.

Oh, were you there? Thankfully, there are people who would pay to see it again... You are not the center of the universe.

In my opinion, compared to MTM and ATS, Living Things doesn't really need to be listened to from beginning to end. It's a collection of songs for the most part, and not really a connected sequence of songs like MTM and especially ATS was.

As for what songs I can see being played live on the HC tour:

    Lost in the Echo

    In My Remains

    Burn it Down

    Lies Greed Misery

    I'll Be Gone

    Victimized

    and maybe Powerless.

Although since the ATS world tour, my predictions in terms of setlists has been completely off, and this tour looks to be even more of a curve ball.

  18. ATS on the other hand had heavy experimentation with electro elements and that's not a bad thing.. There's nothing wrong with trying to change your style.. Some times it is considered mandatory.. The fact that bothered most listeners is that the album is just bad. And that's why most fans wanted them to go back to HT/Meteora style.. 'Cause LP was better at that..

This is why jakolp is a sensible fan.

    WTF

I can understand ATS not being your cup of tea, but really? Tossing around your opinion like it has merit and authority is one thing, but...

No, what bothered most listeners is that MTM (It's my least favorite album) and ATS (My Favorite album) were not Hybrid Theory/Meteora. Notice the period at the end of that sentence.

The shock factor from A Thousand Suns really has a lot of you on a high, with all of the delusion and euphoria included... If Living Things came out after Meteora, it would have been the same old b/s like when MTM was released.

You've had the experimentation of MTM and ATS to sort of prepare you all for this. I guarantee, a lot of you would not be on this Living Things high horse had it came out after Meteora... No half of you would be bitching about how different it is, and how the folk crap doesn't work. (Which I think it does, and I love Living Things, for the record)

The thing is, Living Things is so much closer to the LP of old compared to their last two albums, that you will accept it like an alcoholic accepts a good scotch on the rocks.... No questions asked.

Don't hate, just think about it ok? For the record again, I love Living Things.

    /RANT

Anyway... As it relates to Living Things.. This album is a grower. It will take a bit of time to grow on me... I already love it, and I find myself humming the melodies and sort of learning the lyrics here and there. This album will be a journey... and I would have it no other way.

Although at this point in time, it still doesn't beat ATS for me.

    A Thousand Suns

    Living Things

    Hybrid Theory

    Meteora

    Minutes to Midnight

  19. Phew, well, I got into Linkin Park back in 2001. It was 'Crawling' that caught my interest. I'd always catch the music video on MTV back then an thought the song was different than all the other stuff on there... I always found myself "rapping" along with Mike Shinoda's part. After awhile, the 'In The End' music video was on all the time, and at that point it was settled... I'll never forget stealing my sister's Hybrid Theory CD (I was too young at the time to buy my own) and listening to songs like With You, Runaway, By Myself, Crawling, and In The End all weekend while she was out with her friends.

It's amazing how much times change, I didn't know what torrents/P2P programs/MP3's were back then. I treasured the time I got to listen to Linkin Park those days.

I actually remember not liking Papercut or Pushing Me Away too much at first, which is weird to me now, lol. Good times.

  20. Really? This is b/s.

I was almost done downloading RaR, then the fucking Java applet freezes my whole effing browser and now I have an empty folder with no files in it, and no option to re-download. This is bullshit... I heard no one has any luck contacting support with this shit. I'm so pissed right now.. I didn't think this would happen to me.
