  1. on that note, source "versions" (separating via 1a, 1b, etc) are also used inconsistently.

For example, Camden '08's sources are listed as separate 'versions': 1a = 16 bit, 1b = 24 bit, 1c = DVD-A. But Clarkston '14 and Darien Centre '14's sources simply note that there are two versions (16 and 24 bit) in the comments field, not via extra a/b differentiated entries.

there's no real need to change this (file size would be enough to indicate to someone what they were downloading), but just so you're aware of it

source 1b contains Numb between New Divide and BTH, and if the source note is meant to show 'play order', then WID is supposed to be after OSC

Source 2 isnt a full source. the DVD has the same run-time as the "full show uploaded to youtube", but is missing The Catalyst intro, Papercut, With You, Joe's Solo Medley, and Burn It Down. parts of Runaway, Castle Of Glass and A Light That Never Comes are cut. and there are some mid song cuts in Mike's Solo Medley and New Divide.

also, the DVD contains some Bonus clips of 'Guilty All The Same', 'Numb', 'In The End' and 'What I've Done' (not on youtube) from another right angle, filmed by White Lion (not alice k) and a hidden bonus of footage shot from backstage - clips of 'Faint', 'Waiting For The End', and 'Points Of Authority'.

  2. I definitely wouldn't have heard of JK had it not been for DBS/LP, but i do like their stuff independently to that.

all this business recently with JK just smacks of unprofessionalism on someone's part. I'm sure that this kind of stuff happens all the time behind the scenes, but having it spill over into a public forum has been a PA disaster.

I'm just hoping that this mess with the Live CD gets sorted and they can push on with releasing new material.

  3.

Since Bamboozle was my 1st show and it was before DSP's existed, I decided to keep that recording, mostly because of the nostalgia and because it's just a great recording in general. I still kept every DSP that was released, because those were official releases from the band and I enjoy them. I didn't keep NYC 2010 or SSMF 2013 stuff because there were never full sources of those shows and I hate having incomplete shows or songs that cut in and out from different sources, etc. I have now downloaded the Darien Center 2014 source because it's full show and the quality is great. If full source recordings become available for Mansfield, Holmdel or Wantagh, I will keep those as well, but only if they are full sources, like I said before.

having a tiny fragment or a really bad source is, I admit, not worth the effort of storing away and backing up.

would have been really shocked if you;d gotten rid of your nostalgia recs though :P

  4.

Damn, congrats to you. I tried collecting every bootleg, etc., and I eventually just said forget it and deleted it off of my external hard drive. I'm just gonna stick to the officially released LP stuff.

totally off topic, but did you also delete the recs froms shows you attended?

  5. Hybrid Theory Live From Download is out now for the people who pre-ordered THP! FLAC and mp3 included with the download!

EDIT: The mixing and mastering on this sounds SO good. Totally jamming out right now.

Any links to listen to it? (I don't wanna download it.)

    moved to DL fest thread.

not got mine yet, I'm sure it will appear on youtube somewhere.

pleasantly surprised they've given the option for FLAC.

  6. Sorry I don't want to create a useless thread?^

I just don't know how it's work; So basically it's just a like a DSP, in limited edition for those that preorder THP

it's no problem, but I'm sure people will start talking about it once it's released - you'll know when it's out.

it's essentially a DSP, yes, it comes "free" with a pre-order, but you still had to make a payment to LP.com in order to receive it. by my reasoning, it therefore counts as official content.

  7. does this really need a totally new thread stich?

"August 12th or before" was the official line. there's still a day before we can call this "delayed"

I assume it will be emailed to everyone who ordered (like the digital copies of THP were on release day) I pre-ordered via LP.com and have not received anything yet.

this isn't like a normal studio release where it's likely to leak, so we just need to be patient.

  8. I appreciate Chester's resiliency and reluctance to cancel shows, but I don't want the guy to end up in a fucking wheelchair before he's 50. I think we can all agree that we like Chester better when he can, you know, WALK.

I agree, it's admirable to want to carry on, but there's a limit to catering to paying customers in the short term and making sure he's able to do so in the long term.

  9. I'm pretty sure that everyone uses some form of pitch correction on studio albums, regardless of genre. As far as live? I don't know. It makes me sad to hear that lol

yeah I guess HT was the first. It's pretty standard, although I feel like Mike has a lot of clean-up on his vocals, he never seems to be able to hit any of the notes he can magically do on record so... yeah...
