Ummmm... you're a few days late on that one.Leave out all the Rest
-
Personally, Across the Line rapes Pretend To Be in almost every category. Thats not to say the latter song is bad in any means.
-
Now THIS is going to get VERY tough... Personally, each of these songs are deserving of #1 spot on the album for me so...
I'm going to vote The Little Things Give You Away...
-
After having my first listen to Pretend To Be, I was very intrigued by what I heard. It was very mellow, yet upbeat. It sounds a lot like MtM era stuff, with the bridge and outro seeming more along the lines of ATS. Very nice surprise of a song, and I can't wait to blast in my car in an hour!

My god... that was incredible. I am officially re-hyped. Blackout is definitely the song I'm now looking out for!

What I've Done!

Thanks so much for the preview Ana! To say I'm worried now is a major understatement. Although No Roads Left is one of my favourite songs from LP, I also can't help but think that Chester shouldn't just be the second voice. It's also completely okay for only 2 screams in the album, as long as there's still aggression and emotion pouring through the vocals IMO.
At the same time, my curiousity and excitement for the album has sky rocketed! I can't wait to hear all these new experimental sounds you have described in the album.
September 14th can't come quick enough!

Wow... Considering the opposing opinions that everyone seems to have about this album, I'm incredibly surprised that the remaining 5 songs are all my favourites from the album! This is going to start getting tough...
But I choose What I've Done.

I don't know how you've lasted this long but to quote another LP song...
It's your time! Leave Out All the Rest!!!!

Hands Held High!

I would definitely want Figure.09 but only if From the Inside was right after, and they played that epic transition.
-
Personally, I prefer One Step Closer to be 2nd last to Faint *puts up flame shield*.
But on the topic of first or last, I guess last is better.
-
well since everyone is voting it off, lets make this a smooth kill.
Valentine's Day

in Pieces
How could you vote such an incredible song so early?
Hands Held High takes my vote.

Here are my favourites:
1. In Pieces
2. No More Sorrow
3. Faint
Honorable Mentions: Across the Line, and of course, TLTGYA (but we won't count that one)
And I have a feeling that The Catalyst is going to soar up my ranks very quickly.
-
I love No More Sorrow, but i like all the other songs better (besides TLTGYA and VD). I guess I could eave it in there and there could be one more track
I can't believe you would kill off No More freaking Sorrow! Especially over tracks like In Between and Leave Out All the Rest!
And don't get me started on The Little Things Give You Away... That song is in a higher class of it's own IMO
I'm completely neutral to Valentine's Day though.

Breaking the Habit

the only track I prefer in Reanimation is P5hng Me A*wy. Although 1 Stp Klosr has a better bridge than it's HT counterpart, it just takes far too long to get into the song.
-
The Catalyst has grown on me A LOT since I first listened to the whole track yesterday. After making a quick playlist of What I've Done and New Divide and then The Catalyst, it really shows the beautiful evolution of the sound they've created. The only downfall I see is the repetitive lyrics, but the instruments more than make up for it, and the ending is freaking unbelievable!

In my personal opinion, I have never heard a bad or even less than average performance of No More Sorrow. The band seems to always be able to deliver the song live with flying colours. As for a best performance? I love the aggression in Chester's voice in the Toronto 2007 performance.
Best performance of Breaking the Habit

After watching the ROTW last week I reallllllllly enjoyed the performance from Webster Hall 2007. Another one that sticks out in my mind is Summer Sonic 06. The way Chester moves his mic towards and away from his mouth during the final scream is just sick.
EDIT: Oh yes, and I can't forget the Smoke Out 2003 performance. I think that was the first official playing of the song, and Chester was really emotional singing it. He could barely make it through the last chorus. Sends chills down my spine every time.
