I seem to be the only person who thinks AFI sucks live (I've had that opinion for close to 10 years too - I remember MTV showing a 30-minute edited version of one of their Sing the Sorrow shows - they were AWFUL), so no worries. This is a tour of 3 bands who are all exceptionally better in the studio than they are live, although LP does a significantly better job live than the other 2.
Do you consider Paramore to be a good live band?
just curious.
-
Lack of UK dates is definitely not in correlation with bad album sales.
Also, pointless to whine about "why isn't Lp coming to Belgium" or smt. Literally thousand of travel options in central Europe.
-
i've always felt the julien-k guys had very shady side-businesses. Is there any truth to it or with what exactly are they supporthing themselves outside of the band.
-
Thanks for the in-depth review!
You reveal interesting things about certain songs, which I can't identify myself.
-
One of the better live shows in recent years for sure.
This is what i was expecting for RiR. This quality really made a world of difference and what a performance!

very catchy, chillout song.

4. THE SCREENS. Holy fuck. They didn't have those at Tucson, so that was a surprise.
It's surprising you really thought the stage setup they had at a random one-off radio gig would be similar to European big ass festival ones. Looked really good visually obviously!

Sean's no longer working with LP, unfortunately. New guitar tech's name is Ben Chandler, he used to work for Deftones.
Interesting, I always thought LP tried to keep the same crew together.
Is the reason that Sean lost interest as he had been involved with LP for so long or money related?
-
LOL, epic fail on the new guitar tech's part. Mike's guitar wasn't working at the start of the song, and as soon as he fixed it, Brad's quit working and didn't come back until the song was almost over. First song of your first show as the new guy, and that happens? Ouch.
The transition into Numb/Encore from the end of that sounded REALLY abrupt, like something skipped. Hmm.
And FYI, that medley is lyrically a combination of Wretches and Kings/Remember the Name/Skin to Bone (Recharged), but MUSICALLY it's a combination of Wretches and Kings/Skin to Bone (album version)/Remember the Name/In My Remains. VERY cool!
Rob's been doing gallops on Bleed it Out for years with a single pedal. Probably not actually using the double pedal for that one.
the old one quit? Who's the new one?

that joe jump had me cracking
seemed some technical issues, but Chester was really pumped so very excited to see it live
-
This is definitely bad for the band, as it was a massive selling point.
-
In a recent interview Chester said they are planning to tour longer this time around. Im guessing they will take a break after the longer touring.
-
Chester answered "It does" before blabbering about the standard "trying to be creative storyline".At least it's not Powerless- soft.
C'mon man that's ridiculous

It was a really thought provoking question by Zane Lowe tonight along the lines ""does it feel like the circle has come to a complete". I started thinking might this be the last LP album? What you guys think? They have literally done everything by now.

wtf is up with chester chewing gum in absolutely every video there is recently. Can't even spew it out at the red carpet:P

engineer Ethan Mates

I am pretty sure they will release a second single before album release date.
-
So what will Joe Hahn do on the new album:D?
-
i'll hype it more:

To be fair, Riga had way worse production value than the Berlin show, but I agree with you overall. I still laugh how cheap the ticket price for my first LP gig was:D. Now i literally pay hundreds of euros for each concert (plane tickets+hotel etc).. here in germany LP makes the big money with their ticket prices. watch out the different prices between germany and the other countries with the Euro like 2008. 64 euros berlin show in june and in riga only ~35 euros.
but we will see^^
-
I hugely doubt it, they might work on it, but <10% chance they release it during the time LP is trying to promote their album the rest of the year.
