  1. Then why not doing it independently from an (real) LP show....do the summit (on a weekend ;) and let LP play a little set just for the LPU'ers. I know that's easy to say and hard to realize...but it's just an suggestion.

Because then we'd have to rent a venue for a whole new day, which costs LOTS of money and means the cost of YOU going to the event would be MORE money.

  2. Adam - does the Summit start at 11am on both days? On the Events page on LPU it just says 11am so I just wanted to clarify as I have to sort things out at work asap. Thanks for your help.

Day 1: not sure when we'll start stuff. Day 2: we're shooting for 11am. If anything, it will probably be a little later than that. We have to secure a few more details before we know for sure! We might have stuff on Day 2 earlier than that, but the main event at the O2 will probably be around 11am.

  3. Regarding doing this during the week....

Linkin Park doesn't book their shows around the Summit. We booked the Summit around Linkin Park. They only have 2 weekend shows on the Europe tour, none are in MAJOR cities. We wanted to do this first one in a big enough city where it could be huge and easier for people to get to rather than Herning, Denmark or Linz, Austria. That's just how things worked out. I know a lot of people can't do stuff like this during the week, but we didn't have another option.

Announcing so close to date of the show....

Agreed. It would have been ideal to announce earlier. If we could have, we would have. There's A LOT that goes into planning an event like this. We've been working non-stop on this for weeks now. Since we now know a little better how to do something like this, it will hopefully be easier to announce stuff like this further ahead of time in the future.

  4. Yeah. Why should anyone voice their "opinions" on a public forum meant for open discussion?

It is a nice idea. It definitely sounds like a lot of fun, and should be great for those in Europe and especially the UK.

But... It does suck that its in the UK. How about those in the US that worked tirelessly to get the band noticed here before anybody gave a rat's ass overseas. I understand most of the contests are for US residents only, but who wants a dumb plaque when you can go to an LPU international summit. For those who have many complications and a life, its not easy to simply get up and travel half way across the world to a different country with less than a month's notice. We are not all kids, still in school, living on mommy and daddy's paychecks... I hate when the LPU does location specific stuff. It leaves everyone else with moderate responsibilities left out.

Like most things in the LPU the last several years... Great idea's, horrible implementation. Hopefully I turn out being wrong. Hating on those who are simply dissapointed is stupid on it's own. Sorry if all of you don't like it, but thats how I feel. You can't silence all the critics, so it would be wise to learn to block them out if they annoy you. People have serious issue's these days simply ignoring something if it bothers you so much...

Again. For the zillionth time. We can't do stuff in every single city where an LPU member lives. We just can't. People have been upset that we do things "only in LA and NY", well here ya go. London. We've never done an LPU event in London. How are we supposed to bring this even to every single fan without leaving anyone out? We can't.

  5. so it'll be something like a ticket for me to print? nothing comes from the US right?

At the LPU it says: "$40.00 USD (+Applicable tax, shipping and handling costs)"

Oh right. No, it will be a digital ticket that you will have to print. No shipping costs.

    Good evening Adam,

Just wondering i have a ticket to see them on the 10th. I just upgraded my membership and got the ticket for the event which runs over both days. Will i still be able to see the band on the 11th without an actual concert ticket for the day.

No. Concert tickets are NOT included with Summit passes. You can still go to the event on the 11th though if you aren't going to the show!

  6. Also the Central (LOTS of fans here in Texas *hinthint*) :P This is pretty epic. I'd LOVE to go to something like this. As soon as I can I'm buying LPUX. LP should have told us they'd be doing stuff like this instead of being vague about it.

    Vague=no LPUExpensive

LPU summit info = me buying LPUX ASAP.

    Ugh.

  7. I'm from *insert name of city/country here* and it's too expensive for me to get to London. Why can't LP have this summit in *insert name of my city/country here*.

Please utilize the above template when posting similar complaints so that we don't clog up this thread unnecessarily.

    Thanks.

Thank you for my new signature. :)

  8. I just joined because my LPU9 membership expires in Feb 2011 so I was gonna renew it then but this Summit idea sounds awesome! Does that make a difference?

Did you join LPUX with a ticket to the event included? If you did, you don't have to worry about RSVPing for the event, you're all set. If you just join LPUX and didn't join with a ticket to the event, you'll be emailed with RSVP instructions. Either way, you're all good.

  9. Adam - I've joined LPUX but how do I reserve a summit pass? does the pass cover both days?

Edit: ok I read the email that it covers both days but on the LPU offer page it says "All current LPUX Annual members can RSVP for a FREE event pass to the LPU Summit.* Details coming soon" so when LPUX members get to RSVP we are guaranteed a pass?

When did you join LPUX? Did you JUST join or did you join earlier before this offer was up?

  10. A new song was "pretend to be" in a compilation called "decade of underground" or something. LPUX will have 10 new songs (demos).

Pretend To Be will be one of those 10 LPUX tracks, btw. Just wanted to make sure you guys knew because I can already see the comments "OMG only 9 new songzzz??? WTF????". No, it's 10 new songs. PTB was released early.

  11. he actually answered a bunch of questions that didn't show up. he got kicked out but didn't realize it until he'd answered a bunch of questions. I tried to grab screenshot on his computer before he rejoined but it didn't work. sorry!

  12. Does ANYONE know?

For the 32409238423580th time (I think that number is pretty accurate, actually), we know what we're hoping to offer first, but we're still waiting to confirm so we can announce. You guys would hate it even more if we announced unconfirmed stuff and got you excited, then, because its not confirmed, if it didn't happen, you'd be pissed. So just hang tight a little longer.

  13. Wow. Nicely put. I don't get why people are so up in arms over this record. If you don't like it, fine. Don't listen to it. I get that it sucks when your favorite band puts out a record you don't like (see Saves The Day's "In Reverie" for me), but I know they didn't make that record for me. They made it for themselves. I'm ok with that. STD came back with 2 phenomenal albums after In Reverie and I actually ended up respecting them more for putting that album out in the first place. They were fresh of the biggest album of their career, newly signed to a major label, and had the potential to be HUGE. But they put that album out. Props to them. Big props to them. (still referring to saves the day here...)
