Back from Download, amazing weekend, was right under Mike during ITE. Especially happy I got to experience Forgotten and By Myself live, 2 songs I never thought I'd get to see live.

Really needs a solo after that screaming part. Can definitely hear Darons involvement in the song

^ I'd probably say Mike's solo would get included as well if they play the Numb/Encore intro to Numb, Since the solo kind of leads into it.

But...wouldn't this kind of defeat the purpose of the name?

Hybrid Theory is only 37:45, adding maybe 5 or 10 mins for time in between tracks or banter. That is a lot of stage time left for LP since they are playing a longer than usual set.

Maybe they'll surprise us and do Meteora in full too...

This quote from that article really summed up why I just went off of LP around ATS.

Used to be, they've dropped down a few places now after I was dissapointed in Living Things and (to some extent) A Thousand Suns.

 

Rammstein are currently my favourite band.

^ If this is a good representation of the upcoming album, I want to see how many older fans come back that left during MTM/ATS.

I'm surprised how many I've seen considering I've only been to 1 show.

The opposite is happening for me. The more I listen to it, the more I like the raw mix. To each their own.

The problem I have with it mostly is that it seems the raw aspect seems to be overly treble-y and it drowns out the bass. It why I didn't realise Rob was using a double pedal till Astat pointed it out, the raw feel to the guitars and everything drowns out the bass drum too much.

The more I listen the less I like the very raw mixing style of this. I'm also not a ran of Rakim's verse.

I'm pretty happy this tour is not over here, as much as I liked LP in the past, 30STM are just boring live.

-Surprised nobody noticed this, but Rob is 100% using a double bass pedal on this song. It's not in there a lot, but it shows up in the drum fill under the melodic guitar line during the intro (the guitar that mimics the vocals in the verses), and there are some double bass "gallops" under part of the outro guitar solo as well.

I was thinking that, but I sort of blocked it out since I know Rob is pretty quick with a single pedal. After a few listens, I only now hear the gallops in the ending.

 

I'm hoping the double bass is a sign for a heavier LP, but I'll reserve me judgement at the moment till I hear more off the album.

Oh fuck. That could be good or bad. Depends on who it is.

Well, it's piqued my interest in LP again for one.

Will the UK TV channel broadcast the full concert?

It will be great to have this in full hd.

Sky Arts, Scuzz and (I believe) Kerrang have highlight shows about a month or 2 after the festival where they show various songs from the bands on the upper 2 stages. since LP are one of the headliners, you can probably expect around 3 songs.

 

I'm going to be there, can't believe I'm actually going to get to see By Myself and Forgotten live.

Sure, in hindsight, you can call What I've Done softer, but at the time when it came out, no one was expecting a slower album from LP, so everyone kind of put WID on the same level as Numb and Pushing Me Away, as the softer/more poppy song of the album.

I bet you all that if you take MTM & ATS and put them together, you will get this album.

Hopefully the heavy-ness from the heavier songs of MTM and the..... actually, nothing from ATS, please.

Been going to Download now for the past 3 years, so will be going again this year. I'm looking forward to most of the bands announced so far and I love the atmosphere in the camps/arena during the festival. Hybrid Theory is just a bonus for me at the moment.

Most UK festivals don't do big online streams of full shows. I have no idea why but its certainly not a management thing - the UK just doesn't stream stuff for some reason. Probably to force greater ticket sales(?)

Andy Copping (Downlaod Festival promoter) said on his twwitter a while back they aren't streaming the festival anymore just becasue it was too expensive and such a hassle to set up. Pretty much any festival that has a livestream have a massive company backing them, or something.

Fallout Boy were just announced as the sub to LP.

Really happy about this. Already got my tickets booked.

Eh, I find the song bland as hell, and, for the most part, it sounds like it is constantly building up to something like a "boom"/rocking out final chorus, but it just doesn't seem to happen.
