It's near the end of the video.

Jeff Blue talked about “NBA INSIDE STUFF – BG CUES" on June 4th, 2021 and he was questioned about what “NBA INSIDE STUFF – BG CUES" actually was, he replied with this: “ Umm, so BG stands for BACKGROUND, so a lot of times when, uhh. So, a publisher’s job is to, umm, exploit, and exploit means get money, from the, the artist’s catalog, so when we, uh, sended out, we were trying to get, you know we got “The Crow”, um, we know too many got “The Crow”, so that song appeared in there, but also, you also have the backing tracks, which a lot of times when you’re listening to, uh, a tv show or whatever, um, you hear the background. And without the vocals, so that’s what “BG CUES” is for. And then the “NBA” was probably was placed in, uh, a promo for, you know, “NBA”, um, you know, basketball. So that’s, that’s what that is and so, yeah.” He also then confirmed that it’s an instrumental of a Xero demo.

We could def go thru all NBA promos from 1997/1998 ;)

The way I found out that Linkin Park's "Forgotten" sampled from Beside's "Change The Beat (Female Version)" is here.

I might be mistaken with the "Mista Hahn's Tasty Gas Station Breaks From The Orient". I can't seem to find the sample, but I swear I thought I heard it on there before.

    that's dope

The "FRESH" sample comes from the Beside song "Change the Beat (Female Version), the exact same sample that was sampled into Linkin Park's "Forgotten". The sample was also in "Mista Hahn's Tasty Gas Station Breaks From The Orient".

The sample is near the end of the song.

how do you found these samples? lol. i found the RME string sample by pure luck 😂😂

I believe the final compilation was done by me. I did mention in this thread some samples might be loaded into the projects but not used in the songs. Maybe back then I thought that was how Mike originally intended the songs to be. This is some pretty clear evidence I was wrong. That was before we discovered some of these demos were used on LPTV, LPUTV, etc. and were missing parts. I think it could be interesting to hear the demos with all the tracks turned on. Great find!

It's ok, i just noticed this because i was finally able to open the projects on MPC desktop.... i wanted to see if the sounds from this version of LPTV existed on the project... when i opened Sequence6 i noticed that it had a sound that was muted... that Snare.. at this moment i asked myself if the other demos had these muted sounds.... that's the good part of being too curious, lol... and i plan to released this version with the muted sounds turned on ;)

Updated. I actually remember noticing the same thing. I believe "Al_Intro" stands for "Album Intro." Could be the case of Mike creating a demo and then renaming it to use as an intro to Hybrid Theory that was later dropped.

i guess it is, i wonder if there's a project for the other beats.. like Grr or the unreleased beats from LPTV, thanks for the update :)

Hey, i have a new found.... whoever exported the "Hybrid Theory Demos" forgot alot of sounds, in this case... Goop https://imgur.com/a/yTPHvtK

I thought that this was an alternative version that Mike probably worked at some point after he first made the beat...

But NO.... there's some sounds that don't play on the project https://youtu.be/6CI0XLvjIEk?t=72

the sample of this snare is called "D_ANGELOSNAR2" and it don't play.

Here in 1:26 we can hear this drum in the background https://youtu.be/6CI0XLvjIEk?t=86
These drums samples are called "PENNYBUMS1" and "RACOSNARE"
and it was supposed to play in this part of the song... https://youtu.be/3bI1wVcfiyk?t=45

Anyways... i will try to fix it and see if we have more "hidden" sounds from these demos!

Another discovery.... remember "TUFF" from the MIKE  MPC folder that doesn't had an .SEQ file? for my surprise it contains the exact same samples from "AL_INTRO"
    https://imgur.com/a/8tbUlep

it would be a great update to the LINKINPEDIA page tho... http://linkinpedia.com/index.php?title=Hybrid_Party_Of_A_Thousand_Things

I searched up the website on the Wayback Machine (http://archive.org/web). All I found was this: https://web.archive.org/web/20000229173831/http://www.eveo.com/main.html

I could't find anything on who won the contest through the Wayback Machine.

Unrelated to this, I think Soundtrack also contains samples from Coal. (It's about 1:48 - 2:02 in the song.)

it is! these samples can be heard on Mike MPC backup, great find tho!
talkin' about these sounds i need to make a topic of all samples that appears on others songs, we have alot.

  8. WHO WINNED EVEO 2000 CONTEST/LOCKOUT?

i was here hearing Slip on jammin with lp video and i decided to visit the Lockout page on Linkinpedia... i read that Lockout was a series for EVEO... but that question is... who winned? i think i never saw nobody talking about this. lol.

Weird, this is what I did to create this list, but for some reason I didn't list Goop. If I remember correctly, there were some songs that didn't show the list of samples for some reason. I'm not really sure if I opened the .APS files or something else, but the software I used was Notepad.

I think a sample being listed there doesn't necessarily mean it was used in the song. Mike might have loaded all those samples into the project but ended up not using some of them. I believe the only way to be sure is to actually open the projects in the MPC software and see which samples are being played.

I believe that sample is from the Adam-12 Theme. It was a TV show from the late 60's. Thanks to MS2000 I see the sample was loaded into Goop as well.

we can actually open the sequence of the song on MPC, lol, i'm working on this :)

I was also thinking about that. Maybe they could make a LP Underground 21 CD. I would want songs like Deftest (1996/1997 Xero Demo), Ashes (1999 Demo), Turn To Grey (1999 Demo), Dreamer (1997/1998 Xero Demo), Weight (1997/1998 Xero Demo), Flower (1999 "She Couldn't" Beat Demo), Pointillism (1998 Mike Shinoda Demo), Slip (1998 Xero Demo), Carousel (1998 Xero Demo), Step Up (1998 Xero Demo), Stick N Move (1998 Xero Demo), Grecian (2006 Demo), Monday Meeting (2009/2010 Demo), LeftRight (2009/2010 Demo), "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" (2002 Demo), The Wizard Song (2002 Demo) [Though Chester said it doesn't exist, it has to exist in some form, right?], Fire In The City (2006/2007 Demo), Cuidado (2002 "Lying From You" Demo), Sick (2002 "Don't Stay" Demo), Chicken Basket (2009/2010 Demo), F**king Awesome (2009/2010 Demo), Until It Breaks Demo, No 4 (2011/2012 Demo), and The Glistening (2013/2014 Demo) are many of the many I would want on my LPU wishlist if they considered coming back with a new CD for this year.

Edit: They probably wouldn't release anything later than the Hybrid Theory days as Warner might be saving the Meteora demos and later demos for Meteora's 20th Anniversary (if Linkin Park consider doing it) and later 20th anniversary releases (if Linkin Park consider doing those) [Mike Shinoda did say this on one of his Twitch streams in November 2020, when a fan who told Mike, "A Thousand Suns deserves a 20th anniversary release.", he responded with "I agree with that. I endorse that. It would be weird if we did a Hybrid Theory 20 and then skipped ahead to A Thousand Suns 20. But that would be my priority, I would prioritize ATS 20 over Meteora 20 but then again, maybe we just do 20's for every album just every few years, a new 20. I feel like we'll run out of demos if we did that. Anniversary box set for every album.".]

i think a stuff that Mike could easily (i think) release would be the beats from LPTV (i think that they are all from HT sessions)... like "Grr" for a example... it appear on LPTV 2003 and they released on LPU15... i would love to hear all these beats.
