  1. Dude... with STP he isn't screaming or doing a similar style to Linkin Park. Linkin Park songs are actually tough vocally, some of them at least. Sure he could do a 20 song set with LP (full songs) each night no problem, but they opted to play more songs this era and shorten stuff, etc. LP wouldn't be able to do that long each night... It would destroy his voice. A lot of singers in bands that scream don't play nearly as long as LP even when they headline. Chester is impressive in that regard.
  2. Unless they sacrificed songs from The Hunting Party to make room for these songs then I see no problem with it. Why play something that was made like 15 years ago that most people at the shows won't know? Remember The Name as mega popular in 2005 and 2006 and I know a lot of people personally who like it that don't even like Linkin Park. Welcome is new and obviously Mike likes to perform it, so why not? Fort Minor this time around isn't like it was in 2005. Mike has been saying this but it seems like people don't understand it. It's just Mike this time around, he doesn't want to do a full tour with a whole band, etc. He wants it just to be a little outlet for him to perform. He said he is kind of like a DJ and he can show up and put in a flash drive and perform. He also has no plans for an album. So just because it's a solo project doesn't mean LP can't play it. Chester played DBS songs during LP shows in the past as well. It's not like they're not allowed to be mixed. STP is a bit different since it was already an established band and it's not a solo project. It's funny that people are so crazy on this site, crying over the fact that they play a one minute interlude for Darker Than Blood. It's a new single that just came out in April and it's a one minute clip of it. It won't stick around for the next album cycle. People would be more likely to know a brand new single that is doing well with a huge artist like Steve Aoki as opposed to playing a song from 2000 like And One that only 5 people in the front row will know.
  3. Hopefully it's something that Linkin Park wants to make themselves, even if it is poppy, and they don't give a fuck about what the 20 ''hardcore'' fans think on LPLive. I've been a member of a lot of fan sites for bands and this site talks the most shit about any band I've ever seen. Linkin Park has never been on a full on rock band and they probably don't want to kee making heavy music just to please the 20 or so people I see on this sit blast the band all this time. If they want to go for a pop album, go for it. If they want to go for a metal album, go for it. If they want to go for a country album, go for it. If they want to go for an EDM album, go for it. It's the bands choice... Personally, I think they will continue on after where they left off with Living Things. It seems like the band kind of went out on an edge for The Hunting Party since that wasn't their original direction in terms of progression but the band was so inspired to make something heavy that they went for it. Mike did say during an interview at Rock In Rio that they were satisfied with the reaction they got from The Hunting Party and that they want to experiment on the next album, so that seems to me that they probably are pursuing a different idea than the kind of music made for a The Hunting Party. I personally think some of their best work were on albums like Minutes To Midnight, A Thousand Suns and Living Things so I hope they can deliver with those caliber of songs again. Chester has a great voice and they don't utilize it enough in my opinion. Stone Temple Pilots utilizes it, so should Linkin Park. I also think they are really great at writing melodies and choruses that will stick in your head and I hope they write those kind of songs again.
