    a) they did that (essentially) with GATS. Look what happened to album sales and single performance.

    B) Strategically speaking, it's a smart move, especially considering the band's last huge hit was four years ago. Teasing new music over a period of time will allow for many more people to see it and maximize the audience. Not everyone pays close attention to the band.

    c) LP just isn't the kind of band to drop things out of the blue when it comes to things like this, and as I mentioned before, look what happened when they did. They like the drama and excitement of a release - they've said this before. Look what's it's doing for the community, too - it's been more active in the last two days than it has been in nearly the entirety of 2016.

    d) It's been said again and again by the band members that this is a personal album to them. It's like, you wouldn't go out into the world after you have your first child and just through it into a crowded street. You appreciate the intimacy with him or her before you set them free. In many ways, that's what this album is like to the band, I bet. Something they've grown with for a long time that they need to give a proper send-off to.

    THIS 100%

Honestly speaking I really enjoy LPs teasing, it's pretty fun to anticipate. The band has worked very hard on this album, they want to get the fans on the same page in terms of excitement, I'm all for it. I really hate when fans are impatient, I get it, we all want the album, but this hype phase is really important.

  2. I agree with you there, If @lhcluiz can provide some sort of proof, that's the only way to really know, right now the fact that date isn't listed on the site and that we don't have any other style of proof makes it seem unlikely that this is 100% legit. I really hope it is though.

  3. I wonder the quality of a webcast in 1998

It's probably around or bellow 144p, I don't think many Internet connections could really handle streaming video in 98 , back to the to the point of the proshoot, like @Skipees mentioned, there isn't a date listed on the site for the 19th.

But It'd be so amazing if we got footage of a proshoot from that era. I hope that somehow what @lhcluiz is saying is true, and there's a chance that we could get our hands on it.

  4. What if Chester didn't auditioned for Hybrid Theory? What if they leaked Pictureboard via Kazaa?

This is a pretty interesting question, they might of ended up with a different vocalist, but I don't know how a different dynamic would work. Would they have sounded the same? Probably production wise, but I'd say a good part of their success was Chester's singing. His dynamic vocal range contributed to the signature "soft yet hard" sound of Hybrid Theory, would someone else been able to achieve that? Also considering the fact that they didn't have a deal at the time, would someone else have stuck with them through thick or thin. Chester clearly put all of his faith into Hybrid Theory/LP succeeding, not sure if another vocalist would have done the same.

As for Pictureboard, I have a feeling it'll probably pop up someday. Maybe through the LPU or through a internal WBR CD, who knows. It's funny how hyped it's gotten, chances are it sounds similar to the previous Xero demos we've heard. I'm more interested in the re-recorded Xero stuff with Mark. We know a higher quality copy of Rhinestone with mark exists

  5. What if they kept the Qwerty-ish sound for Minutes To Midnight?

He's talking about Tattoo The Earth, which according to a quick search, was a tour that Slipknot did in the mid 2000s. I don't know how fans would react to that, I think it wouldn't be crazy or anything, considering Slipknot and LP have toured before (If my memory serves).

Also, if they kept that sound, I think it would have actually been a bad choice, I think LP reinventing themselves with MTM was well needed, and in hindsight, that MTM "sound" would have happened eventually anyways on another album perhaps.

  6. Wow, amazing post Astat!

I want to reiterate the Burberry thing, I think they really fucked this one up / Mike forgot about Space Station. There is nothing noticeably different about the song and like it was stated earlier, the original was released in 2012. LP hasn't ever completely reused a full demo like that for a new album that they've already released (which we know about!), so it makes me think it could have been released to us on purpose with an incorrect date. Who knows. I doubt Mike would reply to a question about it. This is the most troubling date so far in the LPU series.

I think I either posted this on here or LPA but my theory to the whole Burberry thing Is it might have been worked on briefly in 2015, but quickly abandoned (vocals or something maybe?), and since this was probably done in a new session file, You get the 2015 date. I doubt any one in the band can remember when they did what demo, or if it was already released in some form, since they work on so many. Some people claim they can hear mixing differences in this VS. Space Station but, I'm never good at picking that stuff out.

  7.

it sounds very similar to it. ATS era for both songs for sure. 2010. No way Burberry is 2015.

My guess for why Burberry was listed as 2015 on the CD (even though a longer version of the song was already released a while back with the Stagelight stuff) is it might have been worked on briefly in 2015, but quickly abandoned, and since the session file was opened the date was modified on it. Thus Mike or whoever was looking through the files for 2015 demos threw that one on there. I doubt any one in the band can remember when they did what demo, or if it was already released in some form, since they work on so many

  8. I think Mike is either getting confused about when they changed their name from Xero to Hybrid Theory or its possible they held on to the Xero name until just before releasing the EP, which I guess could explain him calling this song and another a Xero demo. Him saying it was on the tape they sent Chester, I have no idea, I always assumed they wrote it after Chester joined the band, it's possible that just the beat could have been sent to him. Someone should really ask Mike about this.

  9. Does anyone know the rip by a scene group IDX? I have it on my computer. The nfo file in the release says it was ripped in 2002.

Actually the rips i have besides this:

    -nkramar's (flac, from dime)

-"Garage Days Unleashed" (flac 24/44.1) I dunno where I got this, maybe LPA? has a glitched artwork

    -LPFuse Rerip 2006 (mp3)

    -2010 remaster version by Skittle021 (mp3)

-The one from HT Demos torrent from dime. (flac) another one by nkramar?

-maybe somewhere I have the rip by pushmeaway.com

"Garage Days" is from LPA, if I'm not mistaken it was a updated remaster by Skittle021 of his original remaster. Or something like that, Garage Days is miles better than any others I've heard

  10. I really don't care for whatever they did to the site. They got rid of all the photos from the Meet & Greets and Summits. They got rid of a shit ton of LPUTV. They got rid of all the LPU15 tracks that you can download by becoming a full member, even though the final LPU15 track still hasn't been released and anyone that joins now won't be able to get the full album, which sucks.

I think the missing content is temporary, to my knowledge they're still moving stuff over from the old system. The new system is a bit weird, but it's something I'm sure we'll get used to, here's the link to the free downloads though: https://linkinpark.com/store/free-downloads
