  1. I just want to share something that came to my mind today.

I always loved and preferred the experimental side of the band. I think they could showed us they were capable of doing more than "just" writting, for example, the early nu metal/rap-rock songs everyone already knows by now. And notice that I typed "just", because I already know the work and knowledge it takes to compose those kind of songs. There are a lot of nu metal or alternative rock tracks out there, but it's hard to find something so well executed like Linkin Park did. By now, I hope I made myself clear that I value and recognize all the work the band has done through the years (since Hybrid Theory to One More Light). Also, I am aware my english is not that good, sorry if I make some grammatical mistakes lol...

So, I will get to the point, my favorite album from Linkin Park is A Thousand Suns. I am a huge fan of concept albums, and while it's true that the band may not did this "concept" intentionally, I still see a clear theme through all the entire thing. They went out of the box, scaped their "comfort zone" by doing something so unfamiliar for them. You can clearly see their frustration and discussions in the Making of A Thousand Suns, but I consider all that "suffering" was worth it. They came up with a beautiful yet risking and challenging album... I know there are some flaws here and there, but it was undeniable that the band was growing musically. But then Living Things was released, and don't get me wrong I still love LT, but I have to admit I've felt disappointed with it. I am sure I was not the only one hoping for something as challenging and complex as ATS or even more! So after Living Things, The Hunting Party and One More Light came out, and while I enjoy those albums, I was always waiting for something more.

Just imagine what would have happened if the band would've followed the same route of A Thousand Suns... I mean, we would probably be talking about a whole new different band. I don't know if the pressure of the ATS recording sessions was what made the band change their mind, or if it was just for the sake of doing something else. I personally think that Linkin Park would be so much more respected as bands such as Radiohead for instance... still LP are one of the most respectable rock bands of the 21th century.

  2. Because some people inexplicably live in a world where music magically gets better the longer they wait to hear it, but is also never as good from the second listen onwards. I pity those people.

Well, I haven't listened to One More Light yet because I prefer to listen to it in the studio version rather than a live version recorded with a phone in the middle of the crowd. That's my explanation.

  3. Understood friend, I am new to the site and everything I post will post in Portuguese and in English below, I believe there must be Brazilian fans on the site !!! And by chance will be broadcast on the net of this show today in Lima in Peru?

I don't think so. But it's likely that we'll have a full concert video uploaded on YouTube like the one in Chile. ;)

  7. Yeah, they'll be playing a bunch of older songs no doubt so that keeps me happy. I also love the live side of the band in general. Even if I hate the new album, it won't matter much in terms of the main tour. There are some people I've talked to at shows who don't even like the band anymore but they go to hear the Hybrid Theory and Meteora songs. You don't have to love whatever band's most recent release is to go see them live man.

Seriously, I don't want to offend you or to be disrespectful. But you're acting like a child man. Your attitude reminds me of myself when I was a younger noob fan. How the hell you can hate this album when you didn't hear shit?! I'm not saying that you should love every album or that you should like this next album. But man, at least give it a try and listen to it when is out and then you can say your opinion. And if you decided that you are going to hate the album, well just don't listen to it and stop posting here shit like "next album gonna suck" "I already hate the album". We didn't even hear a fucking snippet lol. It's allright man, I don't wanna start a fight or anything. But people that hate an album when is not even out annoys me a lot.

  8. I became a fan in 2003 and I love listening to the Meteora tour bootlegs because it brings back memories. MTM tour was my favorite overall (2007-2008) but the Meteora tour cycle is a close second.

I agree, the MTM was the best touring cycle ever. And the Meteora tour setlist were the best ones. Every song flows perfectly into the next one.

  9. Linkin Park Setlist for 2017 LP7 International Tour:

    01. Guilty All The Same (Tinfoil Intro; Ext. Outro)

    02. Given Up (Ext. Outro; w/ Extra Note)

    05. Rebellion

    06. Papercut

    07. Points Of Authority (Shortened Intro)

    08. Faint (Ext. Outro)

    09. LP7 Song

    10. In My Remains

    11. Victimized (w/ QWERTY)

    12. LP7 Song

    13. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ Until It Breaks Verse 3; Wall Of Noise Outro)

I know that LP will never do a setlist like this, but I think this would be a badass one.

  10.

I tried hard to keep at least something going but when the gap was that long it was literally impossible for me to find things to post at times. I know we went days without posts a lot. It was a terrible time period - seriously 2016 was worse than the September 2006 to March 2007 break, which was bad.

The fanbase seems like it has a sense of relief now that promo has started. What's the rush if the song is coming out in a week or whatever? I'm fine with promo clips; they have to hype it up in some way. It's not like they gave us a 4 second clip, this is a legit minute long video.

I know. I tried to post something too but literally I didn't know what to say. The band was quiet as hell, no news, nothing... So it was difficult to maintain the site with life.

  11.

    a) they did that (essentially) with GATS. Look what happened to album sales and single performance.

    B) Strategically speaking, it's a smart move, especially considering the band's last huge hit was four years ago. Teasing new music over a period of time will allow for many more people to see it and maximize the audience. Not everyone pays close attention to the band.

    c) LP just isn't the kind of band to drop things out of the blue when it comes to things like this, and as I mentioned before, look what happened when they did. They like the drama and excitement of a release - they've said this before. Look what's it's doing for the community, too - it's been more active in the last two days than it has been in nearly the entirety of 2016.

    d) It's been said again and again by the band members that this is a personal album to them. It's like, you wouldn't go out into the world after you have your first child and just through it into a crowded street. You appreciate the intimacy with him or her before you set them free. In many ways, that's what this album is like to the band, I bet. Something they've grown with for a long time that they need to give a proper send-off to.

I completely agree, especially when you say that the community has been very active. I remember last year, everytime I logged in here I would always see nothing, I thought that LPLive was dead. But now, everyone is posting and having fun. I prefer this way more than drop a single out of nowhere.
