  1. Ah well. It's a shame we can't have decent opposing viewpoints on here without people going crazy at each other.

I'm banking on most of these songs having various different sections to them, hence the full songs will offer us far more than meets the eye (ear) at the moment. Apart from Empty Spaces, of course.

Curious that someone above mentioned Disturbed - it's quite interesting how Disturbed and LP have approached their new albums. Disturbed tends to stick to the same sound, but their music becomes more refined as they do more and more of it, hence the sound doesn't become stale (at least to me). LP have decided to break free of their roots entirely which I respect - I'm glad they're making music they enjoy, and hey, it sounds pretty good - but part of me will always want to know what LP would sound like now if they were consciously still writing their old style of music. Perhaps a little experimentation here and there to keep it fresh, but boy would I love to hear that album.

I'm really looking forward to their new live show - it's going to be cool to see how they integrate new with old.

  2. When They Come For Me sounds great as it builds towards the end of the sample.

Overall... certainly very different from what they've done before. It's hard to really judge it any more than that until I hear the whole thing, since the songs are generally quite long and varied within themselves.

Also, Iridescent sounds like Shadow Of The Day part 2 ;)

  3. "This isn't LP i want HT back" is getting really annoying after hearing it for several years. LP has already said that they won't make that music again so please stop :D

    Source on that?

I think it's fair to say those who want more of the HT/M sound back can express their opinion as such. Personally, I'm anxious about this album; from what I've heard so far, it's going to either be a hit or a miss for me. I'm starting to worry it's going to be the latter. What got me into LP was the Meteora sound. As for MTM, I liked it because I listened to that kind of music too already, I didn't just like it because I'm a mindless drone that likes whatever LP does.

I may still enjoy ATS, but there's always going to be a part of me that wishes they would make more music in the style of Meteora. That's what got me into them. I think they're taking a huge gamble with this record - as can already be seen by comments on their Facebook updates which seem to be interspersed with opinions from disappointed fans.

  4. There are so many fans of this band that make no room for criticism and it really begins to feel like a preschool playground.

Yeah, this. Every time I think of making a criticism of something LP's done on here it's a bit like I hold back because of the anger it'll inevitably provoke.

  5. Guys, don't you think that this line:

is contradictory? Maybe not "unload" but "are load"? Otherwise there is something wrong I think: There is nothing that they don't run (read: they run EVERYTHING) their guns unload? How you (gang for example) can run a town without a LOADED guns?

    What do you think?

When our guns unload (i.e. when we shoot everything up), there won't be anything we don't run (everyone will bow down to us).

  6. I totally agree with whatever you said mark.

    Heh.

Anyway, the CD sounds pretty cool. Wonder what era it's from. I want to hear more Meteora demos personally.

  7. I really don't know the answer to that. I sure HOPE so. However, the LPU website sure doesn't say that at all. It says only the $60 members get to buy merch. Ouch >_>

That's a bit of a kick in the teeth, having only paid for an LPU membership about a month ago. We should be able to buy the merch without purchasing ANOTHER membership...

  8. I'm trying to find out the same thing right now. I'm in the same situation. I got LPU9 for Christmas last year and unfortunately, I didn't really activate my membership until 3 or 4 months ago. Although I'm not sure, I'm afraid the answer is probably yes. I'm guessing that we will have to pay money and upgrade to LPUX (or buy) to receive real benefits.

Well if that's the case, bye bye LPU, it's been fun

  9. Okay, I'm kinda confused, excuse the question since I'm not too bright early in the morning.

I just paid for an LPU membership a month or two ago - does this mean when LPU9 rolls over to LPUX I'll have to purchase AGAIN? My current membership will cease to be valid? Or what?

    If so... <_<

  10. Guys, this is only an edit.

This - hence I'm waiting for tomorrow

What's the point in hearing a chopped-down song when the proper thing releases tomorrow? Will be more exciting to listen to the whole song from start-to-finish as it was intended, not having already heard a cut-down version.

  11. wow Alex, it's nice to know i have a b/f who thinks i'm a douche bag. I'm not going to make this thread about you and me. If you seriously don't believe it's me, then message me and ask me something that only I would know. And I hope you'll place more emphasis on my answer than me forgetting to press Caps Lock on the second M in your last name.

Well, I don't have a girlfriend so it would be quite an achievement if you were...
