  1. So I guess I took this a bit too literally...sorry. Haha, but thanks again!
  2. I honestly apolgize to those who didn't win then... HOLY...JUST WOW. To think I just stumbled across this while listening to hardcore techno. But for clarification:I'm a girl. It's rather funny because my Dad just came home from work and I started freaking out in my hallway saying, "I won! I won! ...but I'm not a HE!" It's alright though. To be very honest, I was worried when you initially said the winner was going to be "randomly" chosen. After I posted that, I thought it was a waste of time because it was in all honesty. Then I thought I could never win and it just so happened that my words were actually taken into consideration in the end! Thanks LPL for such an awesome contest!
  3. Has been said, but I'll say the first and only time I've seen LP live, which was at Madison Square Garden. Although a lot of people mentioned Jay-Z's appearance towards the end, I think the fact LP played MSG was enough of a moment alone. Pretty sure any artist who plays there can be considered to have "made it". It's funny how some artists play there multiple times within a short time span of their career and it took LP about 10 years just to experience that. I knew it was going to be a special show from the start and I felt it was such an honor that I was able to attend. Why I thought so is because besides the venue, it took me 8 years, 8 years after listening to HT for the first time, to finally see a LP show. I could have not been any happier. Also, during the concert...I realized just how LP's music is relatable and timeless, in the sense that it brought many generations together. Being a younger fan (since I was 8 at the time HT got released), I was of course intimidated by older fans. But once I sat there, I started to talk with the people around me, got more comfortable, and despite the age gap, we sang together throughout the night. My uncle decided to attend because I had an extra ticket from my friend who bailed out and although at some points he teased me saying I belong in an asylum for enjoying Chester's screaming, I couldn't help but laugh as he sang his heart out and even danced to "In The End" and "Numb". He commented later that even without Jay-Z, Linkin Park's performance was definitely worth it. Overall, the show was a total success to me. Of course when Jay-Z came out, everyone in the arena went crazy. I even cursed like a mad man and I never screamed so much. I was a bit bummed out earlier that I didn't get to M&G the members, but that certainly made it up. When the concert ended, it started flurrying, I believe. I started laughing walking down the streets because I remember LP (Mike, maybe) said something about hating the snow and cold weather in NYC/Northeast. They just have to get used to it lol. Just unbelievable.
  4. Looking at the artwork from afar, it seems as if you can break down just about everything including the black blanket back into geometric shapes. However the simple, yet bold look is a beautiful contrast to the more abstract and complex composition/editing as a whole. Was this an intentional move in order to relate to back the logo, as it appears within each page? Also, was Dead By Sunrise's minimalistic logo design somehow a shout out to Linkin Park's MTM-era logo? (More specifically, the circle with "LP" inside) (Not part of the question, but my opinion lol: I was rather surprised when I first saw the DBS logo and that kind of explains my second question because it's what I first thought!)
  5. It was my first LP concert ever, after waiting for at least 8 years. Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan of LP since Hybrid Theory was released. I was 8 years old at the time and it wasn't until now that my parents let me go to one of thier concerts. Was probably the best day of my life so far. Haha, I even cried. My favorite moment probably had to be when they performed "In the End" becuase I couldn't believe that I was finally singing the bridge along with them. That as well as when Jay-Z came out during the 2nd encore. I totally didn't expect that! It must have sucked for the people who left their seats before that! After the concert, I was laughing so much when it started to flurry because LP always complains about how cold it is whenever they come to NYC. (On Z100/Mike: "Brad...are you wearing a sweater? It's cold in New York today. Are you wearing a sweatshirt?") Anyways, I'm just glad that this could be one of LP's historic shows and the fact that I was a part of it by being there.
  6. I'll try to say this the best I can. No, I'm not pissed about it. I somewhat enjoy the CD since I guess that I'm one of the few that actually finds it funny. Yes, I was quite disappointed at first especially since "Bubbles" was the first song I heard, but I literally lol'd at the ending of "No Laundry" and I enjoy "26 Lettaz" alot. Technically, it is new material, but still not exactly what I expected. Although I agree that it isn't really suitable for selling at the LPU price, I think we should still give credit for the effort MS/CB made. Obviously it's not their "best" though. As for the cover, I personally love it alot, maybe even more than the songs themselves. I guess it's mainly because I draw things like that all the time and am a huge fan of urban artwork. I'm assuming Mike designed it and I have to give him kudos if he did. Despite the simple appearance, it looks like vector work and that does take while to finish, especially if drawn from scratch. It is funny looking, most of all. As for my LPU membership, I'll admit right now that I've only joined LPU7 and maybe I don't completely understand all the things that have been said because I haven't been in it long enough. However, the pricing is the main reason as to why I haven't joined for so long, not because I was lazy to join or hated what the fan packs included. I never intended to buy the LPU packs all these years for a couple of reasons actually. For LPU8...I think I'll stick to the online pass. I joined LPU7 with the same thing and I was pretty satisfied with what I got, mainly the pre-sale tickets, notifications, and M&G opportunities. If I really want to upgrade it later, I'll think about it. As sad as this sounds and for the negative criticism I may get for wearing it later on, I'm mainly going for the t-shirt since I've always wanted one and extremely disliked the scissors motif of LPU7. Plus, we still have to see what Mike says on this matter. (which will most likely consist of a long apology and possibly a better explaination to all of it) It's probably too late for them to do anything about the packs, but it'd still be interesting to see what his complete opinion is and some feedback on our comments. I'm just afraid that it'll be a negative response because of...our comments on his blog. I mean, now I seriously feel bad for him. Even if the LPU has disgraced us, it must suck for him because of all the criticism being shot at him at once and mainly at him alone.
  7. Actually he's not alone with his way of decoration. He reminds me alot of , founder of BAPE. Personally, I think his house is beastly. I would love to visit it one day, or have one of his collections/rooms. I guess it's because I'm really into that stuff... Though, I see his house and kind of wonder about his wife.
