LinkinMark
Just listened to it with the vocal remove effect on Audacity...god damn... EDIT: Actually, while filtering the acapella track, you can hear all of Mike's background vocals a lot more. Even the ones during the second verse. How do you do this? I have Audacity but have no idea how to use it... gorast
Personally I feel that this shouldn't even be a question. Mike's voice definitely improved from MTM to ATS, and his singing is significantly better on ATS as a result. That's probably why his voice was featured more, aside from it fitting the lyrics of some of the songs more - it just sounded better on ATS. lgr
A Thousand Suns, because of the ending to Blackout. this was my reason for picking ATS was literally about to write "ATS - ending to Blackout"... I think Mike's singing makes an amazing contrast to Chester's. Iridescent (for example) wouldn't have been nearly as good (in my opinion) had Chester sang the verses. It's that softer, almost shy voice that Mike has and then Chester comes in with the powerful, uplifting chorus. It works so well that I couldn't imagine it working any other way. and you sir, are completely correct. i love chester's voice sure, but Mike's has particular qualities that make him a more appropriate choice for certain songs. LOATR sounds great with chester, but "Fear", in it's own raw little way is an example of Mike's voice being superb - i find it hard to choose which of the 2 versions to this song i like more. Geki
I think on the new album, Mike will rap a lot, and the singing/screaming will be left to Chester. shadowofthehabit92
Definitely ATS. The ending to Blackout is one of my favorite parts of ATS. Also, I love Mike's verses in Iridescent. Geki
I've actually changed my mind about LP lately. I am just NOW beginning to love ATS. Months before the new album comes out. LOL. I think Mike's singing is definitely better on ATS than it is on MTM. You can't really compare though, the only track you can really hear him sing on during MTM is ''In Between'', and the other stuff are demos/b-sides. No Roads Left is amazing, but that's a b-side. Fear and Drum Song are really cool, but again, those are demos. I think the best singing moments on ATS for Mike are the verses in BITS and Iridescent, as well as the ending to Blackout.
