Anality Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Are LP demo's and LPU tracks owned by Warner? I want to put them into a youtube video but I also don't want to get a copyright violation Quote
sotrix Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Everything LP recorded after they signed their contract is owned by Warner. Technically. But it's not whether they own it but whether you're costing them lost profits. LPU tracks definitely cannot be uploaded to YouTube. Quote
Anality Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 so... the 9 track and 8 track demo's can be used in videos? Quote
Ashwhisker Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 so... the 9 track and 8 track demo's can be used in videos? They technically can't, but Warner isn't as watchful about them as mainstream studio tracks. Quote

Ashwhisker Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 why can't they? weren't they used to actually get the deal with warner? I'm no legal expert, but in the past Linkin Park demos have been pulled. But, there are a ton on Youtube, so who knows. Quote
Astat Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 why can't they? weren't they used to actually get the deal with warner? LP signed their contract with Warner before they recorded the demos. The only pre-Warner material that exists is the Xero tape, the HTEP, and the 2-track Esaul/Super Xero demo. Dedicated also may pre-date the contract signing, but it's owned by Warner anyway because it was released on LPU 2.0. The HTEP is also owned by Warner now after the LPU re-release. Quote
