It's not unusual for an artist to re-release a CD (see NIN in the 90s), but for LP it is quite unusual. Before a little while ago, I thought that HTEP was the only CD that was "re-released" in that the original release differs from the later release. I found out that Reanimation now has a booklet similar to Hybrid Theory; the fold-out type. This one also has the album cover on the front of it. The original one features an actual booklet with more pages and a different cover. I also noticed differences between some of the CD's. Some, but not all of the CD's have the robot positioned differently (a little more to the left to be precise). The honeycombs on the back of the case are also a little different. What makes this strange (to me) is that they all have the same UPC. (Though it will differ based on location).

Here are some pictures:

Does it mention Phoenix as a band member or something?

Yep, I believe it was not long after the HT special edition was released in 2002 that they started doing pressings with an updated booklet that lists him as the bass player. I'll probably have more info about that soon, my original HT is getting so worn out that I could really use a new copy.

Thanks. An update would be great :)

In the mean time, we can list all the differences between CD's we know (fyi these aren't re-releases):

Hybrid Theory: (see above)

Hybrid Theory SE: Some discs are black with red writing

Reanimation: (see above)

Meteora/SE: UK version does not have the black bar on the top cover

Minutes to Midnight: Alternate cover in some areas. It's the same pictures as the Tour Edition, minus the red LP logo.

That's it for now. I have to get to class!
