I hope that over the years, more and more material from LP's shows with Chester will come to light.

It would be interesting if other major festivals like Rock am Ring, Download Festival, Reading, and others followed Pinkpop's model of releasing performances on an official channel.

Not just Linkin Park, of course, but we would have historic performances from other great bands.

2012 atleast for me was the last year of the golden era of LP live they were very tight, Chester was in total control of his voice and didn't really sound very nasal.

I think he didn't like the DJ style setlist (shortened songs, instrumental break, mashups etc.)

 

I think this is a great way to include more songs.

The only strange decision I didn't like were the inclusion of that horrible "DARKER THAN BLOOD" single to the set, dropping GATS from the setlist, Welcome in a LINKIN PARK set? C'mon.

Welcome is good fun song and it's like replacing the Mike Solo and for me is acceptable.

Darker Than Blood is useless and it's also done in horrible way.

I'd like them to keep GATS, but if I remember correctly Rob cannot play GATS and ALITS during the same show

I did like the DJ setlist, in fact I made a whole post defending it. My point about strange decisions was all about but the DJ Set:

 

Ending up early the Living Things tour, and cancelling some legs

The fucking Recharged remix record

The dislike of THP by almost all the band but Mike

The marketing fiasco of that era

Cancelling the US Winter Tour

 

You get the point. 

 

And although I dislike OML the band seemed to be on the right track after some confusing years.

Pretty sure Phoenix was quoted about wanting to open shows with KTTK.   Chester was always excited about whatever Mike/LP would come up with lol "ATS weird? F*ck yeah!! Heavy metal? F*ck yeah!! Pop? F*ck yeah!!"

 

Rob gave himself a hard time to be able to play the tracks (the whole back injured with GATS thing), but if anything, that's the record where he shines the most, and probably the challenge must have been interesting to him.

 

So that leaves Joe and Brad. Brad was famously not really into the guitar stuff at first, and he's the one blamed for the absence of THP on Papercut, soooo he maybe possibly is mid about the record. Joe, we just don't know anything... but he is a huge Rakim fan, so there is that.

 

Yes, the band did not play all of THP live, but in the end, they've played even less from LT.  And yes, we know Mike was the one to initiate the THP direction, but Mike has always been the driving force behind every single LP direction. Like for real, if he wanted to have a Reaggaton LP record, I'm sure he'd find his way to convince the other guys ^^'  

 

I don't know. I feel in general, there is too much speculation about the band disliking certain records, and often, it's not backed up by strong evidence. Meteora haters will say that the band is embarrassed by Meteora, LT haters will say the band only made LT because of the label pressure for more hits, etc. Of course, the band is going to have favorite records, but I highly doubt there is like one record no one is into.

The only weird decision for me was the Living Things tour.

They never came back to Europe for what usually been a 2nd leg.

With Recharged they try to recreate Reanimation and even if not everyone will like it, it's an understandable idea.

Canceling the 2015 US tour is an unfortunate event out of the band's control

Wouldn't be the first time they have multiple Europe legs

The Recharged project was a completely cashgrab, Reanimation did great because it strayed away from the cliche associated with remix albums, Recharged embraced it. 

Yes, but it wasn't out of control reschedule those dates.
