Colin Brittain has announced via Instagram that he will be doing a Meet & Greet at the annual NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show in Anaheim, California on January 25th, 12:00 p.m. PT. He will be at the DW Drums booth at the Anaheim Convention Center alongside other drummers.

This is the first Meet & Greet of any kind with a Linkin Park member since the band's comeback in September 2024. NAMM, taking place this year from January 21-25, is a popular show for artists to do M&Gs at with fans.

I think this message informally confirms that we won’t have any more M&Gs on this tour. It’s a shame because they were events as big as the shows themselves.
I understood the reason for not having them last year, but this year, I just can’t understand.

It would be interesting to find out the reason.

There are all sorts of reasons they may not want to do M&Gs:

1. The online backlash against Emily is pretty intense, even still. Just one person causing a ruckus at a M&G could be a problem.

2. The band is older than ever and is playing the longest shows they've ever played. They said the 100 person M&Gs wore them out as far back as 2007 which is why they took it down to 15-20 in 2008... imagine all this time later. Mike also said the Post Traumatic M&Gs hearing everyone talk to him about Chester was a LOT on him mentally and emotionally. No doubt there would be a considerable amount of that now with LP back. Playing 2h15m per show and doing M&Gs before it would be pretty tiring undoubtedly for them.

Handling the Alex/Brad situation is not that big of a deal, but you'd be getting 5/6ths of the band at M&Gs.

A good solution is do an LPU Summit a few times per year or per touring cycle. Since they are two day events, you could even set it up that the M&G portion could be on the band's day off and not before the show. There are a lot of options there.

I dont think that people who hates the band would show up at a concert, seems like the response in person its pretty fucking good.

Yeah, the sad part about all the Emily backlash is the accusations against her more than likely are bullshit. She can’t help what she was born into, and it would take five seconds of research (or listening to her music from Dead Sara) to realize that her situation is extremely complicated. It’s shitty how people only read the headlines and make up their minds to hate a person in a situation they don’t know anything about and refuse to be open minded and empathetic. Chester wouldn’t be ashamed of his bandmates for moving on with Emily, he’d be ashamed of the people who bully Emily in his name.

That is exactly what pisses me off the most. The man preached kindness and some of his so called "fans" are just full of blind hate.

It's a shame she can't freely interact with the fanbase.

Me too, man. Me too. It IS a shame she can’t interact freely with the fanbase but I wouldn’t put it past some psycho to try and pull some funny shit at a M&G. I really believe that’s why we won’t have them at the very least until things calm down (if they ever do). @LPLStaff also mentioned that people would say shit about Chester to Mike / the rest of the band and that’s gotta be very emotionally exhausting. I completely get why we probably don’t have meet and greets, although it sucks.

Alright, you’ve convinced me. There are good reasons not to have M&Gs anymore.
I just doubt any hater would spend time and money just to be rude to the band and Emily. They usually stick to online criticism. But it’s understandable to be cautious.

Bringing back the LPU Summit sounds like a great idea. I hope they consider it in the future.

Don’t forget, meeting tons of fans increases the risk they could get sick. Wouldn’t want them to have to cancel shows or play at less than 100%.

I think the summit option is a good compromise if they every feel comfortable doing them again.
