B3NTR1LL
September 5th 2024 was a day, as a Linkin Park fan, that will go down as one of the best days ever! Our favorite band is back after a seven year hiatus due to the loss of Chester. They came back big with a new album announcement, tour announcement, and brand new single ‘The Emptiness Machine’. Not only that but a limited number of LPU members got invited to LA for a surprise that turned out to be a “Launch Show” to announce all of this and unveil Emily Armstrong as the co-vocalist with Mike. I don’t know if anyone has revisited that launch show since that day but we encourage everyone to check it out! The live audio has been re-mixed by long-time band Audio Engineer Ethan Mates and new camera angles of the show have been released and updated into the launch event video. Among other small tweaks in quality and audio mixing the launch show has basically turned into a full-scale live release! Revisit that day and remember the joy you felt on September 5. Fans who have been around for a while may recognize Ethan's work as he has been a part of Linkin Park's team since at least as far back as 2006, but notably also professionally mixed the Hollywood Bowl tribute show as well. KeysToTheLinkinPark
This show has such a special feeling. I remember this blonde head walking through the picture and it was clear that things were about to change. Many here in the LPL community had some suspicions that it would be Emily, but to see it actually happen is something else. It's always special to come back to this show and remember the time in the Shoutbox. How we all sat in front of the screen and didn't know what to write. This show is full of special moments. Like Mike saying at the beginning “It's good to see you again” or “And in the role of Chester Bennington...” or Emily crying. There are definitely some cool new camera angles here. The mix is also really well executed. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18015-september-5th-launch-show-updated/#findComment-338523 Share on other sites
javignacio
September 5th was one of the best day ever to be a linkin park fan. It took me back to 2017 and to the holywood bowl show. So many feelings, but to hear Mike said "it's good to see you again", a part of me that I thought dead was alive again. Then the perfect introduction to Emily, a surprise. So I've been rewatching that video again and again. I'm gonna take a look now at the new edit/mix, but this show is one of the most important shows on LP history. LPLStaff
Not too surprised they did this - the same thing happened with the Hollywood Bowl. Well done. Both were incredibly important shows in the band's history. Also, ran across this today too... a good watch: Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18015-september-5th-launch-show-updated/#findComment-338528 Share on other sites
YRQRM0
Is this a second touch up? Because I thought the first touch up happened over a month ago, unless I'm just thinking of the standalone performance videos? LPLStaff
Yeah the standalones were redone, but the whole show wasn't done until now. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18015-september-5th-launch-show-updated/#findComment-338536 Share on other sites

IMP757
I get chills every time I hear "it's good to see you again". That was the moment where it all became so real for me.
