LPPRJKT4
Alot of people (including myself) have been requesting LP to add some songs they don't play very much anymore back into the sets. However, I think that we should seriously let go on that. It took a huge effort just to convince the band to occasionally play A Place for My Head, and ev then when you compare the performances of it now and back then, there's no questions asked, Chester just doesn't have the strength for those hardcore songs anymore. We shud actually consider ourselves lucky that we get more than 1 or 2 Hybrid Theory songs in the set. Many bands such as Muse, U2, or My Chemical Romance barely ever play songs off of their debut albums!! Whereas LP plays all their singles, and even filler songs such as Points of Authority, Pushing Me Away, and Cure for the Itch!! I think that's a pretty sweet deal, especially since they try to fit a B-side into their set as well sometimes. The point of an album tour is to promote that album, not to play songs off their old albums. LP will prob play some older stuff this summer since we are pretty persistent about it but if they don't, I don't think it's a good idea to keep asking. Especially since next year they'll have 4 albums worth of material to play. If they do, then we are lucky, if they don't, we shud just consider ourselves lucky with the abundant amount we have. I hope noone is offended by this thread, I just thought I should get that out.
GraDoN
well not all the old songs are hard, like i would love to hear high voltage again :>
wiiesel
Good post...but I think songs like Figure.09 , High Voltage, Nobody's Listening should be no problem for chester. I hope they will play longer as usual when the fourth album is out. Otherwise the old songs will be rare in the sets I think. And that would be bad ^^ And I'm hoping for some older stuff this summer because this is no album supporting tour. Would be great!

LPPRJKT4
Lol I was just talkin bout Hybrid Theory, not Meteora. Lol it doesn't seem to have worked. I'd love alot of songs back too but I just don't see why they wud play songs like High Voltage that are so old. They aren't just playing for us fans who love the live material, they are playing for a worldwide audience who want to hear the singles and newer stuff, that's obv gonna win. wiiesel
It's nearly impossible to answer to your post. There's no question or anything. Just facts... But I tried as I said Chester is able to perform the older songs in my opinion. ^^ btw. I saw APFMH too (sorry) ^^

spadefx
Personally, I disagree. Hybrid Theory, for me, is by far and away their best album, and although I can understand them playing as many 'singles' from the newer albums as possible, the 'filler' tracks on MTM and Meteora don't come close to those on Hybrid Theory. It's obvious they'll play more of the recent material at the moment, as there'll be a certain percentage of attendees who haven't heard Hybrid Theory, but to neglect that album even further I think would weaken their set. Possible solution to please those wanting more 'old' material - if they just rotated out some of the older singles (Crawling springs to mind, as I've never seen Chester do that great a job of it live) for some different 'old' material. Rob_Wilson
Have been gone from here for a while but now i'm back I do see what you're saying about the older songs and that many bands abandon those older songs after an album or two, however I feel it would be a big mistake for LP to do this as it's just completely getting rid of their original style. A few examples that will probably piss you off 'cause it's going against your thread so apologies Slipknot - this last year they now play mainly their first album and a few songs from the 2nd and 3rd album and even though all hope is gone has been out nearly a year they have only played 4 songs live from it...now I'm not saying I don't want to hear MTM at all but it's almost the opposite of LP Metallica - they have 9 albums they still manage to play a song or two from at least 7 of those albums each show not to mention adding in a cover or 2. I do feel as well that Metallica's way of rotating setlists is far better - having a few fixed songs in the set and just changing up the others each night
