Phoenix Launches "Member Guest" Podcast

Recommended Posts

On January 13th, Phoenix tweeted, "I’ve been working on a new project for the past few months (hint: it’s not music)... I’m excited to share it with you. More info coming on Monday! Have a great weekend"

Today he has revealed what he has been working on... a brand new podcast titled Member Guest, featuring him, Mark Fiore (Linkin Park's videographer), and Brendan Steele (golfer).

The Welcome page says, "If it’s your first time here, then you’re our guest… welcome! If you’ve been here before, then we consider you a member… welcome back! We are experts at a few things, and amateurs at many. Cheers to the endless pursuit of Golf, Music and Less important things." It says Brendan met Phoenix at the Wantagh 2014 show of the Carnivores Tour and says Phoenix and Mark have known each other since they were playing soccer at five years old.

The first episode featured M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold. "M. Shadows" has achieved international success as the frontman for his band, Avenged Sevenfold. He joins the Member Guest podcast to discuss the perception of musical genres, jazz shots, caddies that swim to retrieve errant golf shots, to dealing with the loss of a band member."

The three talk about golf, music, and more over the course of about an hour and ten minutes. Near the end, Matt describes the Hollywood Bowl show from his perspective and meeting Linkin Park fans from all over the world at the event. He also relates the loss of Chester to the loss of The Rev.
With the first episode coming off well, we are excited to see who else they will bring in. Episode two is lined up with Tre Cool, who was also in attendance with other members of Green Day at the Hollywood Bowl show, and episode three will feature John Mallinger and Charley Hoffman.
