RogueSoul Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Another episode of LPUTV is up, this time featuring the second track from the new LPU CD, "Basil". Mike discusses the track, saying that, "at the time of writing the song... we thought we were writing a song for a video game." He goes on to say that this is where the earliest traces of the music from A Thousand Suns began to take root, too. Funny enough - the actual episode is longer than the song itself! Linkin Park is currently in the studio, hard at work on their follow-up to The Hunting Party, and we're currently expecting a Late 2016 release. danielpsoad-09 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 In old interviews they've mentioned that in 2010 they were working on music for a project that ended up falling apart and I always wondered what it was... well, now we know that it was a video game. Quote
Astat Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 When 8-Bit Rebellion! was announced, the press release mentioned that the developers (Artificial Life) and Linkin Park had signed a three-year contract and planned to release a series of games during that span. Obviously that didn't happen, presumably after 8BR was largely unsuccessful. I'd imagine given the timeline, the "video game that didn't happen" was a proposed follow-up game with the same company. I highly doubt the planning of 8BR dated back to 2008 though.. Quote
