  1. You've all misinterpreted me. I'm extremely grateful to Mike for keeping everything alive. He helps the fans and music that he's been releasing is great. I will repeat it again - Mike is my biggest inspiration and idol. I simply don't like one little thing about his actions and I'm being attacked for my opinion. Mike is not obligated to write songs about Chester and I still like his solo songs, even though they're not directly about Chester.

I don't know what to say more about this case but I think that you are all too sensitive, guys. Every critical word about something related with Linkin Park is a reason to attack. C'mon, nobody is perfect and even though I love Mike and his music, I can express a negative opinion about him or his songs.

I completely get what you're saying. Lyrics like

"Well thank you genius, you think it'll be a challenge
Only my life's work hanging in the fucking balance"

may seem that he's only concerned about his career and not about the loss of Chester.

But if we think deeper… if we think that as soon as he accepted that his friend passed, what's left for him? His whole life's work.

He couldn't do anything for Chester, but his work was still "in the fucking balance". He couldn't neglect it and it was killing him.

That's my reading about the theme. I was completely wrong on my reading about What The Words Meant, so I can be totally wrong here too.

Overall I think that the whole point of Post Traumatic, starting from the album's title, is that Mike wanted to talk about his grief, what he felt, his concerns, how he overcome it, and not about Chester or his — undeniable — friendship with Chester.

And we have to thank him for doing it. He could have followed the path of the other band members and kept his grief for himself, but he decided to share it with us.

  2. What The Words Meant is exactly what I've been thinking since Chester passed.

We all knew the content of his lyrics but always took them as generic "stories" or "messages" that could fit with anyone's living and experiences. But now we all know that maybe, almost certainly, most of them were Chester's own life and experiences.

I mean, the whole One More Light album has gained a totally new meaning since July 20, 2017.

  3. As a Linkin Park fan, I'm glad I can have this "full" demo in an official way.

    It's short? Yeah... but it's a demo.

2 months for 27 secs? Maybe they could include it on the CD or release 2 demos this month to compensate.

But hey, in the end you're all "bitching" for having more official content??

  4. I like having the physical copy. It would make more s ense for me to buy the $10 access to meet and greets, then another 10 for the physical CD. It would have been cheaper hypothetically than the $40 bundle

    I feel your pain, bro.

Plus, 40$+ merchandise coming from outside of EU is subject to taxes in my country, making it easily go up till around 100€ (≈106$).

    Bummer.

  5. Good article. I really hope Chester would read it.

In the latest shows I've seen, Chester was so fucking great!

His screams are more powerful, sometimes touching what he sounded like in Hybrid Theory and Meteora era. Maybe because he doesn't get so tired from jumping all the time, but I prefer it this way.

Even without all the crazy jumps he puts a lot of energy on stage, and I'm really impressed about his recent performances, specially knowing he broke his ankle just months ago.

  6. As I recall, there were claims that the album was supposedly due for release via Warner in the FALL as well.

I'm gonna take this with a grain of salt and view it as nothing more than a rumor until its officially announced.

Here in Portugal the fall lasts until December 20.

  7. Is it possible that Castle of Glass came from Heartburn? It sounds VERY SIMILAR to Heartburn.

I can listen some similarities with In Pieces, but with COG?? No way…

BTW, I really love this BTH demo. For me is the best track from this year's LPU.

Mike's low tone remembers the one he used on "Barack Your World" lol

But I really love the melody and the early lyrics.

EDIT: thinking about the next year LPU, some ideas:

    — THP demos (obviously)

    — Meteora known demos: The Wizard Song, Take Away My Pride

    — MTM demos: Grecian and Chester's take on No Roads Left

    — Strings only songs: BTH, Krwlng (the whole instrumental would be cool too), Little Things, No Roads Left, Blackbirds

  8. On the other day I made this setlist, which I sent to them on Twitter: https://twitter.com/tfaeusebio/status/511084968718917632

I tried to maintain the core of the actual setlist and don't be a dreamer asking them to play the rock-rare-fan-favorites, but making little changes that will not be a big effort to them.

If they want to open with GATS, that's ok, but change the intro to something like an ambient thing and then BAM, start rocking with GATS. And the "false start" of GATS doesn't sound good live to me. It always sounds like they forgot to plug the mics correctly.

On the setlist I made they could rotate By Myself with some other random heavy song, like Forgotten, Figure.09 or W&K.

In My Remains could give space to Lost in the Echo or some other song from Living Things.

And (this was my mistake) swap In the End with Crawling. Crawling could also give his place to From the Inside or Pushing Me Away now and then, for example.

I think all of these changes aren't impossible AT ALL, and would do a much better setlist.

  9. Gotta love seeing the Brazilian "fans" talking shit about "how much LP sucks" based on the difficulties with this show. These are probably the same leeches who flood every goddamn band member chat with "LP COEM 2 BRAZIL" and shit. Why does LP continue to keep going back to this country? The government sucks, the people suck, and the ratio of scam artists to legitimate businesspeople in the music industry down there is about 10 to 1. The place is a shithole in every way imaginable, and I really don't care who I offend in saying so because it's the fucking truth.

Maybe Brad had the right idea in not going.

    You're totally right sir.

Brazilians don't even know how to write/talk their own language correctly (which is Portuguese).

  10. Watching the show again from the beginning, since I only started watching after Wastelands.

The band started the show with a lot of energy, but Chester's voice doesn't stand the whole show anymore. He struggles too much when singing Crawling, New Divide and even Burn It Down. Tip to the band: rotate this songs with others less exigent to Chester's voice!

And to finalize, props to Phoenix as he still bangs his bass like the old times! Contrary to Delson, which confines himself to only play the guitar walking on the stage like he's doing a favor to everyone…
