as many of you know I've had the extremely pleasure of speaking to mr dean for about a month now. He is seriously the most down to earth chill guy ever.

He has agree'd to our offer BUTTTTTTTT

his collection as stated above is in complete disarray as to what is in what boxes. I would get half the tapes (which is still a crap load) and he would like is all of his masters put to dvd for him and then once I deliver that I'd get the other half. The big problem is there is no order to the boxes. his masters are in a separate box so that won't be hard but other things I'll have 0 control over until I bang out all his masters for him. I'm still talking with him about time/money exchange etc. so bear with me we are almost at the end of this roller coaster!

not only that it could be for the band/label/fan club etc

there was a filmer like that for '41 down' (trustcompany before they were trustcompany) he filmed them like 10 times but won't share anything cause "it was for a school project"

dean said if we show enough interest he'd be willing to make a deal for the others we didn't get..the problem is dean has like 1600 shows...even if I'm greedy I can't even pick 200 shows i want.

alright put our "want list" into dean, working with 3 other people and myself...praying for the best as its like offering pocket change to a guy that is selling a Ferrari

I've been waiting for this day for quite a while..there are a TON of gems not just LP related on his list..Heck even just his masters would be a GEM lol

lol no we didn't have skype back then heck the "latest and greatest" was AOL chat rooms! Lots of these rumors start with people who mix up tapers/filmers and with no real way to double check your source word gets around. People who dislike the taper/filmer also spread crap around. i've "been busted" a few times as well...and no i haven't for the record

that was the rumor on the street for a while. I think it got started when VIC got busted cause right around that time dean disappeared and a few other filmers who sold were getting busted or questioned by the police

haha I have feeling from what I've seen others pick at that I'd have to transfer around 50-60 tapes.

yeah definitely not going to work at 7 a tape if he wants to sell the entire thing. I wouldn't make back any money period. I don't make money off of concerts ever.

nick - can't say for sure tape wise show wise he has an educated guess of 1000 but closer to 900ish

andone - I sent you a pm

and you wouldn't have to transfer them I would for you, I'd just upload the dvd,mpeg, ts to my server and you would grab it

yeah I'm working with a few people to get a want list figured out so we can present him something solid besides my 100 wants lol

he would prefer it, only cause he doesn't want to get stuck with tapes he wants them all gone. I'm waiting on a response from him

he prefers a one shot one time deal etc. as I can see why...don't want all the good stuff to go and be left with the duds...He said he would ONLY let things go IF the entire collection is sold at once. He said he would be willing to do $7 a tape including shipping...which works out to a pretty good deal as shipping will be a bitch and probably cost close to 100 alone.

I have his list. I can post a google docs of it for anyone who is interested but I think we should set up another thread so we don't take away from this one

I was able to get a hold of dean, yes that dean. he is willing to part with his linkin park tapes no problem at all. BUT the rest of his massive collection has to go as well.

I know one person got his email besides me..please don't swamp him. he already said he would work with us no problem at all and has been actually hoping someone would find him to help him with this.

I said this in another thread but I'll say it here just to make sure it is in the right thread ...TrollHD doesn't have backhaul feed. To be quiet honest, backhaul isn't even the right word it is pretty much the backhaul of a core server which a company uses. Troll HD uses a sat. receiver called C-Band, they are insanely expensive but you get crazy absurd quality. As I'm sure any of you who have a raw trollHD cap can see it trumps anything and everything by leaps and bounds.

To touch on backhaul again, There are 3 types of 'feeds' you can get when 'capturing'

Satellite feed - TrollHD uses this along with some cappers over in europe probably

TV Feed - ah deesevenland home of the "good enough to shake a stick at" quality without going overboard

Pre Air feed - I doubt you will ever run into this but either way it is.......footage before it hits the air so there are no logos, no ads, nothing just a (usually) nice picture but the quality isn't nearly as good as the sat feed.

TrollHD doesn't have access to the backhaul feed...at least that is very doubtful. Nearly 110% positive they use C-band which gives them disgustingly high quality as they're capturing it before it hits the television

I personally don't have it but evan did film them

I've contacted someone who has a 1st gen vhs of this, now playing the waiting game
