scanning a document or picture is different to how the venue will "scan" the barcode for entry.

 

an image scanner will only take a copy of what the ticket looks like, it's won't "scan" or interefere with the integrity of the bar code.

Sorry man but I have no idea what you mean by "affect the tickets". I'm just saying it would be great if you could scan them before the shows, before they get ripped, damaged or lost, and submit them to us when ever you like.

If Rio's a larger city then I guess it does make sense to have 2 dates. pretty crap for fans who had tickets for the Curitiba show though

Maybe Curitiba sold really badly and they said screw it, night 2 in Rio it is. I think Rio sold out really fast so that'd make sense lol.

That's the reason. I'm sure about that. No doubt about that. Rio is almost sold out but the concert in Rio is for 7,000 people and Curitiba was for almost 20,000.

I'm sure one day South America will get a regular tour. They could probably play Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, etc.

Off course. Brazilian economy is so well and better than Europe and Asia for shows. All the artists are coming every year. The other contries will have their concerts because our economy is in a good moment.

I am Brazilian and I will try to explain what happened.

 

The coming of Linkin Park to Brazil was disputed by three producers: SWU (the same producer of Maquinária Festival), XYZ and T4F.

 

The contract with SWU was almost close to being signed when the XYZ offered more money by the coming of the banda. But the T4F offered even more money and signed a contract with the band for shows in October.

 

What happens: to have spent more money, T4F put the tickets at a very high price.

 

Another thing: if the SWU would have closed the contract with the band, we would have shows at Maquinária Festival in Chile and Paraguay, as producers of both festivals are very close. The shows wouldn't be in October, but in November. With this, the possibility of shows besides the festivals, as in Argentina and other countries would increase greatly.

 

It was a surprise announcement of shows in Brazil and only in October. This made the other interested countries, such as Chile and Argentina, were surprised. You can see this by the show in Argentina, which was signed only in late August, while the shows in Brazil were announced in the second week of July.

To further complicate the ticket sales, the producer XYZ in August announced the coming of the Evanescence to Brazil exactly on the same dates of Linkin Park. This act was seen as a clear answer to T4F. Look: in São Paulo, we will have shows of Evanescence and Linkin Park on the same day and almost at the same time in different places.

They give DSPs for festivals...

I know but festival has rights on their concerts but solo concerts all rights by LP.

One thing to note about this show is that while there was one in 2007, there will NOT be a DSP (Digital Souvenir Package) for tonight's show reportedly due to the venue disagreeing with the band on how much money they should get from the sale of each recording. Ouch!

Any other countries rumored for the South America tour? Chile? Peru?

Argentina? I'm surprised but I don't believe in more dates for other countries. We had rumors about a especific date in Argentina for weeks but we don't have for Chile or Peru. It's so close for more negociations. Probably this tour will be 4 dates in Brazil and 1 in Argentina.

I dont think that it's "totally fake", you see, Banco Frances has announced the presale (even if th dates aren't exactly right*) and I don't think that they would put up an announcement like that without it being true. I know we have yet to see the official announcement from the band but... I think its pretty possible for it to be true.

* the actual presale dates are from august 27th to september 2nd and the sale to the general public begins on the 3rd. as it was confirmed by a person from marketing dept. of the bank.

And following the official announcement we'll also have info on the LPU presale too.

Something interesting is that the site is also listing the rumored Argentina date for the band. While last.fm lists the venue originally rumored, we have heard the venue will be Estadio GEBA.

Again these may be totally wrong and we have seen them on just ONE site so take them with a grain of salt.

Let me explain something about Argentina. I CREATED THE EVENT when I read the same jornalist who confirmed the Brazilian concerts saying about this date. "He was right about 4 concert, probably he'll be right about the 5th" I thought. This happened weeks ago and I don't remember exactly when I read about this rumor but I know that some members from linkinparkbr.com updated their Twitter personal accounts with this info. But now, almost 1 month before the date we can see that is TOTALLY FAKE the info and I can't delete the event from last.fm. It's almost impossible for the band to confirm a date so close. For me the dates of South American Tour are closed, or we can say the dates of 'Brazilian Tour' are closed.

FINALLY! I'm waiting for a Brazilian Tour since the American and European crisis.
