  1. Maybe Cure For The Itch opened the US shows as a small salute to the big Hybrid Theory fans in the U.S., which I'm pretty sure is the country that loves that album the most (relative to other Linkin Park albums).

Whereas this is Asia's first ATS tour so they get The Requiem.

Well said. I agree. And The Requiem is so much better than Cure for the Itch anyways.

  2. Oh man, you guys should calm down. I'm nether 10 nor 12, I'm 15. And this was my reaction after I read there would be no BIG surprise. Isn't it clear that I was pissed at that moment? Seriously...

Mike never said there would be a BIG surprise.

This forum doesn't look good when you see people saying things like "Fuck you Mike Shinoda" for something like this. It makes it hard for people like me to want to post here.

  3. RAWR YOU CARE MORE ABOUT SEEING LINKIN PARK THAN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE IN JAPAN.

see how silly this is? and I agree, $500 dollars seems worth it for more than one reason, as I stated in an earlier post.

I was justifying the 500 dollars whereas other people were trying to make it sound like it was too much (because of the setlist, etc.) So that's not the same thing.

But whatever, I'm done here, lol.

  4. No offense but Mark has done plenty to raise money for MFR. Over $700? Sounds great to me. $500 is a lot to give to a charity. There's nothing wrong with considering the show he'd be going to see, especially if he already helped raise as much as he claimed, AND if I'm correct, Mark lives on the east coast. That's a lot of money coming from the help of one person.

With all due respect, how much have you done for MFR?

He started his sentence by saying "If I lived in LA"...but fair enough. Though if he's really a big money raiser for MFR, he should talk like it instead of making the event sound dumb if Linkin Park doesn't change their setlist. That's just silly.

And $500 isn't a ridiculous amount by any means. Do you realize how amazing it would be to see Linkin Park in a tiny venue? And it's not like you have to raise all the money yourself. You can ask friends and such to help pitch in which is what the site thing is for.

  5. MFR is very important to us.

I'd do this if I lived in LA IF I knew they'd play a totally different set than what I've seen x3 this touring cycle. $500 for the same songs in likely a shortened setlist isn't worth it to me.

But apparently the setlist they play is much more important.

  6. i love all the albums. ATS is very different and good. But in the next album i would hope for at least 12 songs not 9. And there to be a little more rock/scream in their only because there last 2 albums havent sold that well and there first album sold the most in the decade.

Also the survey they put out makes me wonder if they mite change 'a little' to how the fans want it as well as there personal direction.

i like the short songs like the reqium but 9 full length songs after a 3+ yr wait is a little annoying.

LP are my fav band out there and i will continue to support them and buy there albums/merch that stuff.

Why should we care about album sales? The band doesn't so why should you?

  7. This may come off a little ignorant sounding, but I'm not sure if Rick influenced the ATS sound. The sound he helped create on MTM was amazing, and MTM is still my fav LP album and probably always will be. But the ATS sound kind of sucks and if they just re-use old ATS demos and re-make them for the new album, that will extremely piss me off. Why wouldn't they just make brand new music that doesn't sound like ATS. There is barely any guitar that's worth mentioning in the entire ATS album, the drums are too electronic and the vocals are weird. I don't understand why LP would totally ditch guitar and drums, why the fuck even have Brad, Phoenix or Rob in the band anymore then? Linkin Park is a rock band, they always have been a rock band. They already ditched the whole 'nu-metal thing' which is totally fine with me. They then ditched guitars and drums on ATS. What's next, an all instrumental LP album with no guitar or drums or vocals? Like wtf. I understand they want to change and not be predictable, but it's getting a little too much for me. I like ATS but I sure as hell do not want another ATS. I want something NEW, not old piece of shit ATS demos. I'll just listen to DBS and MTM and forget about the new direction. Another thing that also pissed me off is how much they are talking about war and fucking religion now. Why? Either way, writing about religion or war is going to offend people, so what's the point? LP has never talked about the fairy tale legend 'God' before, so why are they suddenly? Chester is suddenly a Christian who prays all the time and wears a cross now? Wtf? This is not the LP I once knew and loved. I already hate the direction they are taking. Ever since 2011 has started, LP has been straying away from me.

I laugh at your attempt to define Linkin Park. Did Mike recently speak out and say "It's decided, we're a rockband"? And what the fuck are you talking about with the religion thing? The band hasn't made a religious song in their entire career. Those like Chester who are religious keep it to themselves.

You really need to take a pill, bro.

ATS has god stuff and religious stuff all over it.

And when you mean all over it, you mean it's non existant.
  8. Seriously, it DOES matter what setlist they play if you see them perform live, at least to me, when I saw them during some parts of their 2009 shows I got really bored. And if they play the same songs in Hamburg they did last year I'll seriously be pissed (I've paid like 70 euros for the show).

Enjoy the fact that they're touring for the sake of getting fucking money? Seriously?

The fact that more than 1 person agreed with this post is the reason my post count is so low here.

  9. So do a lot of other bands. Some of them play every single one of their hits in a single show. Other bands, like LP, don't play every single. Also realize that this is the A Thousand Suns tour. There's going to be more material from that album than anything else

That's my problem with this setlist, they only played 5 full ATS songs. They played just as many M2M songs.

But regardless of the setlist, it was still a damn often show and I'm extremely grateful for everything that transpired. Can't wait to hear the DSP.

  10. It was fun meeting you Astat. BTW our banner got on stage and there are multiple pics of it including one where Mike is RIGHT over it.

Yes, this is probably the worst song selection the band has ever done , but it was still the greatest night of my life and the performance was perfect.

Haha the weird intro to WFTE was REALLY noticeable now that I think of it.

  11. Travis Barker announced on his official Twitter today that his solo project, "Give The Drummer Some" is set to release on February 22nd. Multiple sources confirm that Chester is on one of the tracks along with the likes of Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and others.

  12. I got seats for the MN show. I did the pit last time I was there and it was almost impossible to just watch and enjoy the show with so many ppl all crammed together. Anyone else going to MN?

Me! And I got seat tickets for the same reason. I want to enjoy this shit!

Hopefully I'll see you at the meet and greet!

  13. Wouldn't be so sure, in '08 I requested a meet & greet and didn't get it. So there may be many more than either of us can anticipate. :| Hope you get it, though!

Except with LPUX being more expensive I'd expect there to be less members. But yeah, nothing's 100%.

  14. sure am! hoping i get my first meet and greet pass! you?

Same here! But damn, you're competition haha. Hopefully we both get picked, haha. I don't think there are too many LPUers in MN so I think the chances are decent.
