  1. Here's my thing. Rather than have brad do next to nothing onstage why don't they just leave the guitars in? I haven't seen all the live footage captures of w&k but from what i did saw chester was banging away at the MPC. couldnt brad just have played it out? I understand it was created through mpc stabs but I mean for the sake of giving everyone something to do. Idk if they changed that, but its simple moments like that, that puzzle. Maybe certain songs weren't meant for guitar or dj scratching or brad phoenix singing. but if u can bring a bad ass sound that may be slightly different for the live version... why not do it?

  2. I use both ProTools and Logic. I use logic on my laptop and when i work with bands a musicians on their music I generally work on a console, and in that case I like to use ProTools.

its a nice simple set up. Nothing flashy besides his virus and mpc's. only issue i have is that he doesn't have a very dry room. everything is wet due to, what sounds like poor acoustical set up of his house (which is natural.) I would have transformed his personal office with the piano into a very dry room. but i suppose it fits what he needs

  3. before i start. i love ats. i love lp, im merely trying to start a discussion about something that is very possible.

So I think even more so than with m2m there has been an uproar within the opinions of LP's new sound. Something that is reflected not just by the fanbase but by casual listeners as well. it's getting bad to the point that Mike has even came out with some words of his own addressing all the hate. So what does this mean for LP? The documentary kind of left off with a state of uncertainty for the band. They were all very torn down the middle about the album and it's sound and chester's speech on loving it for them doing themselves seemed merely like a band aid on a problem that could be lurking. Linkin Park has come to a point where they have made music they love but outside of themselves, it's hard to find fans. They are there, but not obvious as in the past. sure they make millions and technically shouldnt have to worry about what fans think in terms of their musical creativity, but I'm sure they will.

ATS sold well because of it's anticipation for something new. It leaked out the 3 best, well rounded songs on the album and built hype and once people heard the album as a whole a lot of negativity energy dispersed. That energy I think will carry on to their next album and definitely will hurt their record sales unless they do something strong to help bring back faith within fans.

The pressure no longer rests within ATS, but with the next album. What do you think is gunna happen to the band as the future progresses?

  4. LP has two songs charted in the top 50 rock right now. Waiting for the End and Catalyst. WFTE is 40, catalyst is 2. WFTE is brand new and has had almost no promotion.

LP has had almost no promotion either. Small plugs from MTV, with an offstage concert at the VMAS. a medal of honor trailer(clearly not a big demographic) Really anything that was promotion was delivered to the fans of LP directly, via myspace. sounds pretty weak to me. M2M has transformers, commercials, twilight. All things considered they crushed weezer and maroon 5. both who have a pretty standard radio friendly sound. Albums sales are a thing of a past. They are a good indicator for certain things but what really matters is concert turn outs and single sales.

  5. This guy is a douche. What type of author for a fairly well known blog writes in all caps? Who does he think he is? Kanye?

I would have taken this seriously, if it had a touch of intelligence in it. It seemed like every line he wrote was just a failed attempt at making quote candy/ a family guy type joke. He takes a capital F in the fail book for today.

  6. I think the majority of the posters read the title and replied. They didn't read any of the posts, because the lip syncing controversy was resolved within the first 2 pages of this thread. The rest of it is just baseless and idiotic accusations that the people who did question wether or not he was singing are some how LP Bashers.

    I don't understand this?

it's pretty simple, we wanted to know wether or not Mike Shinoda was lip syncing.

What is the purpose of this post.

You're basically repeating yourself, so what was the purpose of this sentence?

    To cause a story?

If by story you mean create an "intelligent" discussion between LP fans then yes.

    to cause more traffic flow?

I doubt this story was racy enough to really draw in the crowds. But then again by your reaction...

What do we win if we happened t figure out or find out he did lipsynch?

nothing really. but if you want to win something I suggest you visit http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5573 for the LPlive GIFTAWAY. You should suggest me. :]

and most of all. Why is it on the main site?

Because if Mike was lip syncing, it'd be the first time in history (according to mark) that, that has ever happened live. And seeing as though this site is called lpLIVE I'd think that'd be a very crucial story.

To bring blind hate for LP?

If people hate Linkin Park, I really doubt it's going to be because Mike Shinoda Lip Sync'd against a female vocoder track.

because there will be people who will take it like, "wtf, they lipsynch too? Just like Justin Beiber!!?!?"

Really? Justin Beiber was the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard hot 100. He was playing like 5 instruments by the time he was 12 and he had millions of youtube views before he ever hit mainstream. He actually can sing and he's just barely legal to drive a car. So if anything being just like Justin Beiber isn't that bad of a comparison.

Lip Syncing isn't a bad thing people. It's a necessary thing to preserve your voice. People lose their voices at times or occasionally can't hit the proper notes. Think of chester and all the time he struggles to sing through a song. Sure, it's great that he pushes through each song but why do you think his vocals get progressively worse live as time goes on? It's a necessary thing. And while Mark may or may not have intended for this post to be a controversial one, it's something that shouldn't be taken as such.

  7. Just like every other speculation type thing that comes up on this site, we nitpick and figure out what's really going on.

    well...

I don't get why you have to make a fuss out of this, Mark. Boo, real

this is going too far, don't taint his name, especially when he reps this website!??!

It was just kind of really dumb unwarranted speculation with no basis

plus all the "+1's" "this's" etc seems like some people were offended or upset.

    all for mark simply asking

It appears that Mike lipsynched vocals for the first known time in LP live history.

Your thoughts, LP fans? Is he really lip synching?

to me it seems like there was more people griping that this type of question was posed rather than legitimate speculation. lol

  8. i love how incredibly offended people are by the implications that Mike lip sync'd. It's a legitimate question to ask, because it's something that could happen especially with mike and all the vocoding needed throughout the album. Sure it appears that he did not lip sync but that wasn't necessarily apparent within the first listen or two. You had to kind of nitpick in order to find the flaws and differences. Lol so get off the genitalia people.

  9. I think it's both. First off I'm pretty sure you don't sing in to the particular vocoder he was using. You speak into it monotonously and when you play the keys on the vocoder it turns it into a sung effect. So I don't think he would really have any reason to really lip synch because it wouldn't be that hard to recreate the song. With that being said you do have to have someone playing a keyboard if he was to be using a vocoder like that. And from what I can see there was no one playing the keyboard to adjust the pitches.
