  1. I don't post here often, but gotta do it for this festival, which was one of the best weekends of my life. I was able to see so many bands I listened to growing up, and found some new bands I can get into in the future.

On Friday, I was bummed that Alice in Chains had to cancel last minute and was expecting that to ruin my experience but that wasn't the case at all. We instead went and saw Kublai Khan TX and Knocked Loose in that time slot and its the heaviest music I've ever heard. We enjoyed it a lot and were a bit late to get to Green Day, which meant we were in the middle of all the crowd surfing and moshing. I had my back to the stage for most of the Green Day set because I was having to watch out for crowd surfers. Someone fell on my head and my neck hurt for all of the night.

So on Saturday, I decided to go camp for Linkin Park, so I could secure a spot by the barricade that connects the stage to the sound tent, because fewer crowd surfers end up there. Sitting out there in the heat was horrible, but shout out to the people spraying us with water, and also handing out free water bottles. That kept me well hydrated and cool enough. My friends got me food around the time Incubus was starting, and the night only went better from there.

I'm not much into Incubus, but they put on such a solid set with an excellent mix. The bass player had insane chops.

And then came Linkin Park. I cried so much during their set, having memories flash up in my head of exactly when/where I was when I used to listen to those songs. The mix was great – you could hear every instrument and the vocals clearly. My favorite performance of the night was probably Let You Fade. I'm trying to improve my photography skills, so I got a used Sony RX100 for this festival, and took so many pictures that will keep this memory alive for me.

I'm so grateful that the band is back and I get to see my childhood heroes.

  2. I can't get the muffled "I do" scream from OML out of my head since I woke up and have been feeling this strange guilt over the last few hours, playing out strange scenarios in my head. I'm still in disbelief, and hope that it's just a bad dream.

  3. Listening again. Was too excited yesterday to listen to it properly. I loved it though.

My impressions yesterday were: Chester's parts sound a lot like they're from a DBS song. And Mike's raps sound like they're from a FM song. And I like that. It sounds like Linkin Park, but is very different. That's what the band has been trying to achieve. I'm impressed. Great album.

  4. I don't think it's a greatest hits album either. Mike has insisted that MTM, ATS and LT (?) should be listened to in order and in entirety (I didn't follow the HT and Meteora cycles, so I don't know if he said anything similar about those albums). Then why would the band make a greatest hits album?

So I think this is lost in translation, as LPxDC said.

If they do a Greatest Hits album, it would be cool to have them rerecord them in their current live renditions or something like that. Make it something special for the fans who already have all of the albums.

    This would be cool.
  5. i just feel more comfortable to listen to it alone only with my headphones on. other people just annoy me and i can't concentrate on the music.

    This.

None of my friends like Linkin Park so I'll be listening to it alone when it leaks.

    And this.

I'll be listening to it alone too. And I'll TRY to ignore the leak this time.
