That's definitely Mike. The question is whether that's a song that's planned for LP7 or if it's a collab for another artist that's featuring Mike. Either way, I like this clip. It's only 10 seconds long and it sounds like it'll be good when we hear the finished product.

It's a well produced cover, but I also have to question why you use the word "official" in your videos. "Official cover" doesn't make sense, really. The cover is well done, though.

So far these have been relatively less-popular collaborators that have been confirmed. I wonder if they have more famous collaborators that they have been keeping under wraps (like Tom Morello working on Drawbar back in 2013- a year before THP was released).
That wouldn't surprise me. If I remember correctly, Mike said once that he liked that Aoki kept their collab under wraps for a while and resisted the urge to... Well, to do pretty much exactly what Blackbear did with that tweet lol.

Reminds me of LPU8. The good old days lol

Leaks happen. The way Martin has responded I personally don't agree with. I understand being upset, and frustrated that you didn't get to control the release of your own material, but choosing to cancel the release of the song as a single? Why? Chances are the people hunting down a leak of an incomplete Martin Garrix featuring Mike Shinoda track are already fans of one or both artists. I can't speak for everyone obviously, but even if the full version had leaked I still would have bought it upon its official release.
This felt like a retaliatory move, honestly, and I don't feel it's right to essentially punish his fan base and deny the song's official release because an incomplete studio version was leaked.

Very very different? I'm intrigued.

I actually agree with Mark and think this is better than ALTNC and DTB.
As for everyone who hates it because it's EDM, why do you care? Just ignore it. I personally feel like the more one off collaborations from other genres they do, the more people who aren't necessarily LP fans will get curious and look up the band. It draws more ears and eyes to Linkin Park's music. Collaborations like this are mutually beneficial for both LP and the artist they collaborate with.

Thanks a lot for this!

EDIT: Nothing to see here.

The beat itself is ok. The dog samples are horrible and the lyrics and flow are horrible as well. I like that Mike is making music, but that's the only real positive I'm taking from this one. I just don't like the song lol. I was kinda hoping Mike would have added a verse in here as well.

I likened it to the Layne Staley situation. Everyone kind of knew he was heading towards a premature death, it's just sad that he couldn't turn it around before it was too late.

"You did very bad." "Oh thank y-...wait did you say I did bad?" "Yeah, it was not very good."
That made me laugh lol

lol you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The files are always encrypted, that's why it takes so long for the stuff to spread. They make it hard on purpose probably because they have to.
Yup, and they change the encryptions too. I'm sure that it would be harder to include some of the tracks they have if the record companies thought they were essentially giving away stems.

Sad Chester had to leave STP, but I do not agree that Linkin Park should have basically went on a hiatus (however brief) to make way for STP.

Bumped down to 90 minutes? How long were they originally going to play, 2 hours?
-
That wasn't being an asshole. That's on me for not being up on the forums like I should have been lol. My bad

Apparently Rebellion is a pre-order bonus for Rock Band 4.

I got into link in park in 2000 aged 10 when Osc first came out. But most people I meet at gigs are new fans
A lot of my friends are the opposite. They like the old stuff (HT/M) but then always say some version of "but when they made [album], I stopped listening to them".
Anyway I personally feel like HT in full could have been saved for this year, as a cool 15th anniversary celebration, but other than that it is what it is. I'm not very surprised that they have no plans honestly.

"Phoenix wants to play The Little Things Give You Away again live. He still really loves the song."
Imagine if Linkin Park EVER came to New Orleans, and closed out the show with that. I've been imagining how emotional of a moment that would be for the last 8 years lol

Kendrick Lamar, Tori Kelly, & The Weeknd. That's it. Would be amazing. People really need to stop with the whole nu-metal artists and huge big time name artist that we all know would be impossible to collab with.
Definitely!!! Although I would think The Weeknd would be a Fort Minor feature before LP.

Very interesting read, cool video, and it's great that LPL's reputation is to the point that Mike can ask for something to be fact-checked, and it is indeed thoroughly investigated by the next day. I love it!!

maybe he's gonna work on some fort minor music
If it was Fort Minor, I doubt he would have made a point to say it won't sound like The Hunting Party and "we" like to surprise people. If it was Fort Minor, than that much would be obvious, and there would be no "we".

They could at least change RTN for High Voltage, but that would make sense, so they didn't do that. Because why would LP make LP set more LP? That would make sense. You see, making LP set more FM and FM set more LP is much more pointless.
Actually, dropping High Voltage during the FM set and playing something like RTN instead (since it's a FM song), then doing High Voltage during the LP set (since it's an LP song) would have been cool. Although we all know that the casual fan would rather hear RTN than High Voltage. Sadly enough, that's just the way it is.

This was a great read. I'm so glad to be a part of this community! I'm also very thankful for all the hard work that's gone into getting LPLive to where it is today.
