  1. My take on the show / setlist :

    - The Catalyst into Guilty all the same INTRO doesn't fit . GATS is straight in your face song, and doesn't need an intro. It may be better in the encore "opener"

    - As far as I litteraly love Blackout, I feel there's no reason for it to be played as the Papercut intro, again. Waste of time.

    - The Papercut/With You/Runaway "medley" is good. No 2nd verse isn't that bad, as it keeps all the energy in.

    - The Ballad Medley need to be scrapped, it's a crowd killer..

    - Mike doing his stuff is great, Joe's also good at it.

    - THAT version of Lost In The Echo is freaking good !!! It needs the second verse.

    - Castle of Glass Experience is really a highlight for me. It has energy!

    - Even though I'm not a fan of Until it's gone, its Live version is actually one of their best songs .

    - Hopefully A Ligh That Never Comes will be scrapped, one day ..

    Anyone agrees ?

  2. So, according to this review, the fastest song may be War (Exploited style, omg!!).

We know so far: (instrumentals not mentionned)

    Up-tempo songs:

    - Keys to the kingdom

    - All for Nothing

    - Guilty all the same

    - War

    - Wastelands

    - Rebellion

    - Mark the graves (?)

    - A Line in the sand (? - Don't know if it's up-tempo though it "rocks HARD")

    Mid-tempo songs:

    - Until it's gone

    - Final Masquerade (?)

If you compare to their previous albums, including HT, they've got much more high tempo songs, which is good for live :)

  3. I think they're sort of done with this electro thing.

As long as I love ATS, LT ans ALTNC were quite bad, in my opinion.

And it is quite possible for the very first shows to have 2 songs off the new record (GATS and an other). I still think they will surprise us in a good way with some unburried tracks .

  4. I mean surprise when you say "Holy F**k" by hearing a song you couldn't expect... That was the case for me when they played My December.

I live in France and was not able to hear all songs from HT live . By Myself, Pushing me away, Forgotten and With You were missing..

  5. Thing is that we may have one or two surprises . For last tour, With You and Somewhere I Belong were big returns. So I don't see just "usual" stuff.

I don't see Don't Stay or No More Sorrow as surprises, as they were played quite recently though.

Like I said, if you bet your money on one particular surprising track, I'd say FORGOTTEN :)

  6. Thanks for your reply ;)

I really want to hear Figure 09 again, but I really doubt LP will ever play it again .. Sadly.

By the way, my setlist would look like this :

01 A Place for my head

    02 Papercut

    03 New Divide

    04 NEW SONG

    05 Faint

    06 With You

    07 NEW SONG

    08 Points of Authority

    09 Waiting for the end

    10 Castle of Glass

    11 Numb

    12 What I've Done

    13 Burn it Down

    14 Lost in the Echo

    15 By Myself

    16 NEW SONG

    17 Forgotten

    18 Bleed it Out

    19 GUILTY ALL THE SAME

    20 In the End

    21 One Step Closer

  7. Hi everybody,

it's been a very long time since I posted my last thread here . And I'd like to share with you guys what I'd expect from the new setlists. I really do expect some major changes, as the rythm of the album is likely to be fast paced . Here are my "thoughts" :

    METEORA :

While Faint remains a setlist staple , there are a few songs that can be cut. First of all, Somewhere I Belong. This song made its return on last tour, but you have to create slots for some new ones and some surprises. Then, Breaking the Habit and Numb were played heavily since the debut of Meteora and I see one of them being thrown. Numb being a fan favourite, I really see Breaking the habit out of the setlist for a while.

No surprises expected from my point.

Remaining tracks : Numb / Faint

    MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT :

Bleed it Out seems to be what is one of the best songs they have especially for Live. It's got energy, some surprises in it and close the sets very well. The medley LOATR/SOTD probably had its last breath. Given Up was always played since it came out , and even if it's a very rock-ish song, I never saw it as a "must listen" or a "fan favourite". That's why I can see it being kicked out sometime. What I've Done remains in the set, as it's a good single ans well loved song . You also need those type of songs to slow down a little bit and not affect Chazzy's voice :)

No More Sorrow can make a little run, but I don't expect it to .

Remaining tracks : What I've Done / Bleed it Out

    A THOUSAND SUNS :

Very hard to pick songs from this album, even though it's my favourite by far . The Catalyst may have that vibe and energy the band was referring to when talking about the new album . But maybe there is too much electro in it as for now. The only song I can see returning would be Wretches and Kings. This aside, Waiting for the End will remain the lone song of the album being played live.

Remaining track : Waiting for the End

    LIVING THINGS :

Most recent album to date, I don't think the songs sounded as good live as we expected. I don't expect surprises from this album , as I only see 3 songs played .

Remaining tracks : Lost in the Echo / Castle of Glass / Burn it Down

    HYBRID THEORY :

Everybody already knows the band will play the album in its entirety at Download Festival. That's not made out of nothing . I really think they will add one or two songs to this years setlist. My money goes on Forgotten. It's got everything they want to sound, especially those times. Agressive, Melodic , they can warm some crowd with it . The second title I see making its return would be By Myself, but not so sure . Just a hope ;)

Remaining tracks : Papercut / One Step Closer / With You / Points of Authority / By Myself / In the End / Forgotten / A Place for my head.

8 tracks is a lot, but they will not play HT at DL festival for nothing. I hope .

That leaves space for 4 tracks + New Divide . 4 new tracks, virtually :)

I hope it was not that long and you liked reading that :) . Your opinions are for sure welcome ;)

  8. My set-list so far:

    01 - The Catalyst

    02 - Papercut

    03 - Given Up

04 - When they Come for Me

    05 - New Divide

    06 - No More Sorrow

    07 - Figure 09

    08 - Somewhere I Belong

    09 - Numb

    10 - Irridescent

11 - Waiting for the End

    12 - Crawling

    13 - What I've Done

    14 - Medley (Nobody's Listening/POA/Forgotten)

    15 - A Place for My Head

    16 - One Step Closer

    17 - Burn It Down

    18 - Faint

    19 - Bleed It Out

    ENJOY !

  9. For the guys that heard the 3 DSP available:

What is the best out of those 3 ? (concerning the mix)

I only have the Berlin one. Love the vocals, but I think the guitars are not as louder as on previous DSP's..

  10. my ideal setlist

    1. The Requiem/The Radiance

    2. New Divide

    3. Faint

    4. Somewhere I Belong

    5. No More Sorrow

    6. Given Up

    7. Papercut

    8. Points Of Authority

    9. Wretches And Kings

    10. When They Come For Me

    11. Lying From You

    12. From The Inside

    13. Numb

    14. Iridescent

    15. Breaking The Habit

    16. Jornada Del Muerto

    17. Waiting For The End

    18. Crawling

    19. In The End

    20. Bleed It Out

    21. What I've Done

    Encore

    22. The Fallout

    23. The Catalyst

    24. One Step Closer

There's too much Meteora in it . I suppose Lying from you or From The Inside won't be on the final setlist .

I still have the feeling that we'll get a special song (oldie from HT,Nobody's Listening,Across the line,P5ng Me AWy)

  11. Here is the setlist that I 'd like (probably not that far from the real one)

    01 Requiem / Radiance

    02 New Divide

    03 Somewhere I belong (w/Intro)

04 No More Sorrow (w/extended intro)

    05 Faint (w/ outro)

    06 Papercut

    07 Given Up

    08 Wretches and Kings

09 When They Come for Me

    10 Numb

11 Breaking The Habit (piano intro)

    12 The Fallout

    13 The Catalyst

    14 P5ng M* Awy

    15 Iridescent

    16 Jornada Del Muerto

    17 Waiting For The End

    18 In the End

    19 Crawling (w/hhh verse)

    20 Bleed it Out (w/solo)

    21 What I've Done (intro w/ ambo)

22 By Myself / With You / A place for My Head ( one of those each night)

23 One Step Closer (extended outro)

What do you think about it ? Maybe SOTD will make the final cut though

  12. Eh...I loved this song live and it reminded me why i loved it when i saw them perform it. It is better than listening to it because i enjoyed hearing the voices of Mike & Chester without the vocal effect and the whole band chiming in with the harmonies. It made me want to sing along and sing along i did. So i disagree that it doesn't translate well live. A song that doesn't translate well live is definitely Crawling but yet, everybody loves that.

I just hope that they won't play full ATS (although I love it) and leaving space to 5 or 6 older songs . I also hope that they'll skip Points Of Authority for Papercut (really need to hear it)

  13. I disagree with this. The Catalyst is not very good live at all. And I'm not talking about Chester hitting the notes or whatever, the energy and feel of the song just doesn't seem to translate to the live show.

We all know that the band needs to perform it several times to push it to an other level.

Remember In Pieces or Bleed It Out (it's now my favorite live song)

  14. Possible Setlist...

    1. The Requiem

    2. The Radiance

    3. New Divide

    4. Faint

    5. No More Sorrow

    6. Wake

    7. Given Up

    8. Papercut

    9. Points Of Authority

    10. Wretches And Kings

    11. When They Come For Me

    12. Numb.

    13. Iridescent

    14. Breaking The Habit

    15. Shadow Of The Day

    16. Jornada Del Muerto

    17. Waiting For The End

    18. Crawling

    19. In The End

    20. Bleed It Out

    21. One Step Closer

    Encore

    22. The Fallout

    23. The Catalyst

    24. What I've Done

As I'm typing this setlist I'm already bored with what I'm hearing. I hope they bring back some HT classics and bang out 22-24 songs not including the interlude. Every great band has expanded their setlist length as they've gotten older so I hope these guys are able to do the same

Don't like Shadow of the Day with Iridescent in the same setlist . Your setlist is good though.

And you're right on one thing : Blackout won't be played .

The other thing I don't like is WID as the closing song. Even the Catalyst is better. I think it will finish with OSC, Faint or BIO..

And I still hope for Pushing Me Away (Reanimated)

  15. I really think that LOATR will leave its place to a ATS track, as well as SOTD (certainly for Irridescent, which is a "better" version of it)

We already know that they will play Irridescent, Catalyst and Waiting For the End

It's also about perfect time to bring back some Reanimation track(s). I would pay just to see them playing Pushing Me Away

  16. I'm not gonna rate each song, but the album is a big one . Maybe their best work since Reanimation.

I really like the energy of this CD. The music reminds me of NIN (you don't have to be heavy to prove you're a great ROCK band)..

I don't know if Waiting For the End fits well in the album (I like it for sure) with every other track being heavily electronic...

The 2 songs I didn't like during my firts listens were Robot Boy and Irridescent . And I have to say they're both from my favorites right now . There's a lot of THRICE and DREDG in those two song (take a listen to the Dredg typed guitars in Irridescent).

Did you felt like this ?
