  1. Wow so much drama from the band lately.

The managed to burn bridges with their former band, former band members, former manager and it looks like they are burning bridges with their own fan base.

I think the fate is sealed with this band, the Death to Analog CD was DOA and they never really promoted or toured for WHWY in the U.S.

They had a chance to really promote the band back in 2007 when their song was on the Transformers CD and they toured for PR07. Because they released DTA way after the fact people stopped caring and the ship has already sailed for them.

It's a real shame because I do enjoy their content.

EDIT - Also why would the band not sign a contract with him? They've been in the industry too long to make such an stupid mistake like that.

  2. Straight from their FB page:

    Hi JK fans, Ryan here.

Let me ask Amir's poll question in another way:

Would you like it if we released 5-7 song EP's more OFTEN, as "collections" of songs with more focused direction on each diverse EP, and played shows/toured in support of these new collections?

OR simply put out an album every 1 or 2 years w tour support after (its been my experience that its more like 2+ years - and I'm not complaining about it, just being honest)?

Im not proposing "low quality songs" - we simply don't do that (our new material may be the best we have ever created). I am also not proposing less diverse material. I am proposing releasing really really GOOD material more often (in smaller chunks) and playing out w greater frequency, rather than continuing with the classic "record/tour cycle".

I know this is a Sunday, so this post wont get as much reaction, but i want to frame the question differently as this is definitely a question we are facing right now with our new material and how we may want to release it. Honestly, I don't know if I have a preference either way, but it is a THOUGHT I am having: release a killer collection of new songs really soon, and then play some shows to promote it? Then another collection 6 months or so after? Or wait and put all the (killer) new songs we have out in a year or so?

I see good aspects in both, but your input matters to us a lot. We are a fan driven band.

It is likely that we will stick with the classic album cycle - but its fun to imagine new ways of getting music to our fans.

    Chime in legions!

  5. Hey guys,

I've been meaning to ask this question for awhile but I haven't had the energy to post, lol.

Anyway I was thinking - Why doesn't LP release the video footage (the stuff that is projected on the big screen) as a DSP?

I mean they are shooting it anyway, why not record it and sell it for $20-$25 a show?

  6. I'm back.

Note: If anyone is curious where I am getting this info from, I'm listening to NOAA Weather radio, Skywarn, Intellicast RADAR, and looking out the window.

    Stay tuned...

  8. Totally excited for tonight. I'll be there wearing my one of a kind LPL t-shirt.

Also not to be a rude "know it all" but there are some facts that should be added/changed:

They are playing at the same venue on the same date, exactly 5 years ago. http://lplive.net/shows/20070815.php

Wantagh really didn't miss out on the ATS tour because there are no other major venues in the town and the tour took place in the winter (which is unsuitable for an outdoor venue). Wantagh is only 3.8 sq miles.

    Also

Tonight, the band will be paying in the Nikon at Jones Beach Amphitheatre, a staple venue on LP’s tours.

  9. Man this stinks.

I don't know how long JK could survive, at least in North America.

I mean there is ZERO promotion for WHWY, it feels like it came out years ago.

I still love JK, but I feel like they're doing it all wrong. Anyway, who am I to judge.
