ATS has a lot of Persian scales. Especially WTCFM and W&K. we have old songs very similar to these two songs. I remember at the time they released ATS, Mike posted some stuffs about Persians on his personal site.

Very Interesting. Do you think at some points LP goes to Eminem for a song and he didn't want to that?! Or maybe Eminem goes to LP and they didn't want to do a song together?!

    Who knows.

What i do know is, lots of things regarding Em goes through his manager Paul Rosenberg or (not always) Royce da 5'9.
Looking at Em's timeline i don't think the timing was good, since he had stuff going on at that time.

2004 - Beef with Murda Inc

    2005 - World Tour\ September 2005 Rehab

2006 - Passing of his best friend, group mate Proof

2007 - Producing projects for his label artist Ca$his - The County Hound EP\  Em overdosed later that year

    2008 - Rehab

    2009 - Relapse\Relapse :Refill album (Relapse 2 was scraped)

    2010 - Recovery album

2011 - Bad Meets Evil album (with Royce da 5'9)

2012 - Label debut of Slaughterhouse - Welcome To Our House (which he executive produced)

    2013 - Marshall Mathers LP 2

    etc

  2. As example only radio in the US are playing Mike´s new stuff from Post Traumatic...

Never heard a new track played in Germany or even talking about Linkin Park/Mike Shinoda after last year at radio...

I hope this change after the release and the international gain more interest in solo Mike.

Same here in The Netherlands. I've requested several times to play something from Post Traumatic, instead doing that they either play "What I've Done" or "Where'd You Go". I'm looking at you 3fm smh.

  3. To be honest, i never thought Mike would actually release any music since Chester's passing. I was gearing myself up for an hiates for (insert a number) years. Then the "Post Traumatic" EP came. I always had a tremendous amount of respect for Mike, but at this point i would classified him as a national treasure. The work ethic, the willpower, the musicianship, the class, hats of to that.

Like i said i am stoked for the new album!

  4. Agreed, I was going to see them, but then Chester's death happened, so this almost makes it up for me not getting to see them, and I think that's the idea the band had in mind

The band is so generous for doing this. They could of gone radio silent for an x amount of time

I wish I could have seen the band on this album cycle... As I mentioned before, I was going to 3 shows on the upcoming U.S. tour. Now I wish that I went to Las Vegas for that show at The Chelsea. :(

3 shows? damn.. that really hurts. i would've been crushed. Can't image how you felt when the news broke :(

  5. I wanted to go so bad to the show in Amsterdam but couldn't... I told myself on the next cycle i'll definitely go. Then the unthinkable happened...

I see this as a way to kind of have glimpse of what i would've experience if i saw them live this year.

Despite the band trying to figure out how to build the future of Linkin Park, you can't complain they're still putting out content.

    And for that i'm grateful!

  6. No, you don't "hate it as much as the rest of us," because you're one of about three people on here with their head far enough up their ass to think the way you do.

Jon doesn't NEED to be capable of doing Chester's heavy vocal parts. Look at how they did Numb, New Divide, and In the End. How many other early vocally heavy songs were really auto-includes in the setlist before Chester's passing? One Step Closer, Faint...that's really about it. You're talking about a pretty small portion of the setlist where it would be an issue. It's an important chunk of the set, sure, but they've already shown there are ways to work around it that don't have to involve replacing Chester.

Jon was the MVP of the show. He was literally out there for a third of the set, and everything he did was integrated seamlessly. He covered Chester's guitar part on Iridescent. He played keys enough to free Mike up to be more of a frontman on songs where he'd otherwise be stuck behind his keyboards. His harmonies kept vocal playback to a minimum. He even sang the album "ahh-ahh" part at the end of Papercut that has literally NEVER been done live.

Knowing now how much Jon brings to the table, I'd be vouching for the guy to be the Morgan Nicholls or Jason Freese of Linkin Park even if Chester was still with us.

I thought those "Aah's" were playbacks. Nevertheless, it was refreshing hearing that live.

  7. Man, that show was amazing. Everybody did an amazing job, I was really surprised by the fact that Matt sang BID and that Oli sang Crawling. It sucks so much that the playback was streamed instead of live vocals during Oli's performance. Is it me or was Crawling performed in a different (lower) key? Furthermore Syn was so low in the mix during Faint, that I could barely hear what he played. I also wish Daron's vocals were higher im the mix of Rebelion. I missed Jared Leto too, I think he would be amazing, if he would be there. My favourite performances were SOTD with Ryan, Rebelion with Daron, Faint with Matt and Syn, and lastly BID, I really liked the soloing of Syn and how they mashed it up The Messenger.

Normally they play it on drop d half step tuning. I have a feeling they played it in Drop C

  8. I had the weirdest dream that Shawn Mendes "replaced" Chester. This mainly has to do with that i sleep with the radio on (Can't sleep without radio) and his song was playing. When i woke up, i hoped this wasn't real, turned out it wasn't. (No disrespect to him).

  9. I went from listening to Nobody Can't Save Me eveyday, to not wanting to hear anything of One More Light, cause wound it just to fresh.

Some part of me knows he's no longer with us, other part of me completely denies that, and refuse to believe it.
