  2. That setlist had the most staggering amount of changes and surprises I think in the band's history. That was unbelievable. SO many remixed intros and just outright jamming. Looking at the videos it seems like the band basically played nonstop just ebbing songs into one another.

The tracks from The Hunting Party also seemed perfect for the live stage, although the video feed definitely drowned out a lot of the volume from the guitars and background layers. Chester was on fucking fire tonight. GATS and UIG sounded nearly identical to the studio vocals thanks to his more raw studio takes.

I can't fucking wait to see how this setlist evolves over time until I get to see them in Toronto!!

P.S. That No More Sorrow/The Catalyst mash-up intro for Until It's Gone was godly.

  3. I find the chorus lyrics are repetitive but Chester's delivery of them are anything but. From the soft singing to the raspy vocals to the screams and the long held "gooooooooone" really keep the lyrics from getting stale.

I especially dig the "battles fought" line added in the final chorus. Kinda wish it was placed throughout the song.

  4. It feels like rather than actually making the songs better, most people are just taking what makes the songs so special in a live setting and putting them back into the studio versions.

    My ideas:

Powerless - have Chester scream the last "Powerless" during the outro. The emotional climax would have been much more satisfying.

Castle of Glass - extend it into a 6/7 minute song ala TLTGYA.

In Pieces - same as for Powerless, have Chester scream "don't lie" before the guitar solo and at the end as well.

  5. My Rock Am Ring 2014 suggestion:

The lack of Faint is incredibly disappointing and I'm sure the TLTGYA/SOTD double in the middle of a heavy set like that would bore the hell out of the crowd. Also seems silly to have such a long intro for GATS only to shorten it live when the extended intro BEGS to be played live.

Other than that it's a sick set.

  6. All you people worried about no screaming need to chill. The only song we've heard is GATS and Mike explained in one of these several recent interviews that GATS couldn't have screaming due to the fact that it would get no real radio play as a first single.

Along with that it seems like previews are never interested in whether there's screaming but rather the overall sound of the music. Which is heavy as fuck.

For example, was Victimized ever hyped up as a song with screaming? I don't think so - it was only mentioned as some of the heaviest band material to date. Considering an entire ALBUM is being hyped up as THE heaviest LP material to date, we shouldn't have much to worry about for Chester's screams.

  7. I've listened to the album like this for the last few years and found it flows incredibly well

  9. What makes me happy about this being the lead single is.. a lead single is used to promote the album. This song has a blend of melodic and heavy. I see the album having much heavier songs, and much softer songs, and this being the bridge in the middle.

New album name is "Straonit"? My download claims that is the name of the album.

You get the download from LPU or some random site? Because if it's the former then that's huge news

  10. I'm loving the fact that people are finally warming up to the idea of Lost in the Echo as a main set/encore closer. A new finale is just what the band needs to invigorate their shows.

  11. I'd dig if Mike brought some new guitar work to the forefront of Victimized to make it heavy rather than rely on synths and beats. And the fact that he's been apparently listening to a lot of metal and punk recently gives me hope that those genres will inspire this remix even more than the original.
