  1. I believe this is only a one-song comeback in support of a charity project (college funds, MFR, Nepal). That's why this whole thing gets so hyped on the internet and on Conan tomorrow, they are trying to maximize the attention for the cause. That's why I assume the merch and LE vinyls are produced to raise money.

  2. LPUX beats ATS by far!!! I'd like to say thank you to the person who decided to let this collection raw and simple. If Linkin Park wouldn't sound that overproduced on their official albums they would get so much more respect in the music world  I really love those unfinished tracks because they are able to "breathe".

Lockjaw owns every single song in this cd =D

Yea WID should be replaced by Lockjaw!
  3. Ok, just wanted to address this again because I know a lot of you are upset. I totally understand. Here are my thoughts:

This isn't an "Online-Only" membership. It's not that same old $15 membership that gave you access to a fanclub website most of you rarely use anyway. We've found that the majority of fans join LPU for two reasons... pre-sale tickets, and the opportunity to meet the band. If the ONLY reason you want to be a part of LPU is for pre-sales, we just made the option cheaper for you. It's now $10 to join for a month, you can buy your pre-sale tickets, and you don't ever have to log in again. If you're only reason for joining LPU is to meet the band, we just made your chances a little better. $10 monthly members won't have access to meet and greets or special LPU events and enhanced concert experiences (more coming on that later). Yes, it's more expensive. But that means the pool will be smaller so those of you who do decide to join for an annual membership will have a better shot at meeting the band and taking part in the other opportunities I touched on.

Forget this idea that it's a more expensive online-only membership. It's not. How many of you log in to LPU just for exclusive content anymore? None, because the content ISN'T exclusive anymore. It can't be. There's not point in pretending it is and charging you for it.

No, these memberships do not come with package items. Reading through messageboards from the last few launches of LPU, it seems a waste to put time and energy into trying to create and annual package that doesn't please everyone. Our resources are better spent making the experience better, and that's what we're doing.

Again, I understand why many of you are upset. But the band is confident this really will improve your experience with the LPU.

I'm looking forward to revealing some of the cool things we're working on, and I hope you'll be excited as I am.

good post. now I understand the new LPU plans and I like those ideas. The official posts on lpu.com and lp.com aren't written that clear so it's no surprise everybody was upset. my marketing prof at the university always said "you can't start an inovation without good communication!"

  4. Great cover, very abstract and surprising. It's good to see that they progress their visual presentation and not only their music. Now I'm really looking forward to hear the new music. It will be so different compared to their older songs!

Anyway, much respect for having the courage to make this the album cover!

  5. It's hard to say anything about the song until now but I think it will be a good single. Nothing really crazy, just something to have airplay on the radio stations but that's ok. The vocal effect on Mike's voice isn't that terrible, T-Pain and Kanye West's auto-tune stuff is terrible :P The piano line sounds like the New Divide Demo...

  6. You don't think being featured on an LP song might get you a little attention? No, you wont make money off this song but it puts your name in millions of hands across the world. Get real my friend.

Warner and Linkin Park will make millions with the single/album cause everybody is talking about their "collaboration" with a fan. But that's just marketing. If you win, you're name will maybe be written on myspace and in the booklet in a very small font size. it's by far not enough to start the big career. It's about the hype, not about finding a talented musician ;)
  7. Fuck yeah, september 14th!!!!!!!!!!! We 're almost here, after years of waiting...I'm really excited right now :D :D

About the contest, I think this idea is pure win. To be featured on one of the most anticipated 2010 album is simply great , and it's also an unique opportunity to make its way in the music business.

Forget that. Once you sent your composition, you will loose any rights on your music and the music label can do what they want with it. <_< it's all about getting the album hyped and making money.

  8. I don't see why Linkin Park should sound like 30stm just because of this sentence. "Nomen est omen" ;-) Portishead has a song called Numb too (a real classic btw) and it has nothing to do with Linkin Park's Numb which was released 8 years later. To sound like 30stm isn't something to be proud about anyway...

  9. I'll try and find some examples of electronic music for you that's heavy and has screaming to maybe help give you and anyone else some hope. I want LP fans to be excited about this new album. If anyone reading knows of some songs feel free to post.

Here a few examples for "heavy" Electro music:

    Solange La Frange

    LCD Soundsystem

    Danger

These are some artists who are really popular in the Electro scene at the moment. If LP really wanna do Elecetro, that's how it would sound like. It I doubt they can do it because the good Electro bands are all indie (and far away from the mainstream) and LP has to please the masses (read the kids).

But I hope to hear some crazy Electro shit!

And BTW Blackbirds is boring Pop music and has nothing to do with Electro ;-)

  10. En collaboration avec Joe Hahn, « nous travaillons pour créer une expérience live inédite pour nos fans, que chaque concert devienne une réelle expérience multi-média, mélangeant nos chansons, des images et mettant en scène des technologies encore jamais vues ! »

    very interesting...

  11. i wonder why they did not pick the stadthalle in vienna..

I've heard their last show in Graz had not so many fans. Some parts of the venue were totally empty !
  12. I hope this is for real. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. IMO they will have an extensive tour throughout Europe and Asia. Then back for a Winter U.S. / Canada tour to promote the new album. Then maybe Brazil.....lol.

See it as confirmed ;-) several reliable austrian newspaper wrote about it ;-)
