  1. whatever?

i mean, his band got some really cool tunes, so why not enjoy those and give a fuck about what he says?

i don't wanna be friends with ian, mainly i want to enjoy his bands music.

plus, it's arguable if "his career" is undeserved or not. they got 4 albums out which are diverse to some extent and they know how to play a live show.

what bothers me the most is what astat pointed out. someone bashes the favourite bands lead singer and everyone goes apeshit about it and starts to hate. childish.

we weren't talking about the band.. Just him..

i could care either way, if the guy talks shit or not...

  2. Hey, let's all start hating on a great vocalist from a great band because he doesn't kiss Chester's ass in the media!

Not kissing his ass and talking shit for no apparent reason are two, TOTALLY different things...

The immaturity of Linkin Park fans amazes me sometimes.

Me too, but you'd think by this time, you'd be used to it....

I swear they'll immediately turn against anyone who has anything negative to say about LP or any of their members. Oh wait, this is the same fanbase that completely turned against Evanescence and Paramore solely because their fans were cheating in online voting contests (just like the LP fans were, but I wouldn't expect most LP fans to be affected by big words like "hypocrisy"). I guess I really shouldn't be surprised.

    Common enemy hypocrisy?
  3. Well said.

Making the music for yourselves is the important thing, hoping everyone likes it so you can continue making music for everyone to enjoy.

I, for one, loved this record from the first listen. Not because I'm a fanboi™, but because I love music. I enjoy everything from LP to Herbie Hancock. Metallica to Bach. And I realized that this was LP's "Dark Side of the Moon". It literally blew my mind the first time, and still currently does every time that I hear it, to the point that I had tears listening to it at the firehouse the first time that I heard it. And still get chills from "The Catalyst" and "The Messenger", and now when I listen to "Wretches and Kings" I can see Chester just AMPED singing the chorus and Mike with this HUGE smile on his face, and relaxed. When I saw them for PR 07 and 08, they were tired, touring almost since the release of MtM non-stop. At the show 2 weeks ago, they were fresh, and even the older stuff (see: OSC, Numb) they seemed excited to play it (Brad smiling was a first for me).

To me, that's a product of putting out something that they are truly love and believe in. And that's what it's about. Loving what you do, because if you don't, you're gonna be miserable, get the fuck out and do what makes you happy. What else are we here on this Earth for?

  4. Hell, we can even have a contest for the designs. Why not? Let's do it, lol.

    God no.. Not again....

Sotrix has hosted LPLive $ free since Christmas 2005 when the project first began.

That's cause Dmitry is a BOSS

    -----------

I'll support all three, like the idea and it would be cool for the LPL meet-ups at shows. I personally like the complex design of the staff shirts, that screams badass...

Also, if we could, cheaply, get the JK poster design on a shirt, that would be awesome :)

  5. I was the 66th member to join. Go figure.

Ya, weren't there alot of phantom accounts when the site was re-launched? I remember that being a topic of conversation, I think on the IRC channel.

Adam is the only non-former staff member to be VIP. Unless Shinoda himself has an account that we can identify...

Let's get on that... Seth, do a trace!!!
  6. I think that the user ranks should be looked at again as the site is growing, and more people have hit the 1000 post mark and have capped out.

Maybe at 1500 or something, a user can have the option of creating their own user rank?

    -------

And I disagree with the first 100 people to register. Just because you were a little more on the ball then some other people, that doesn't entitle you to anything. Now, if you are a contributing member and are active in one way or another, say, finding mistakes in the shows on the main site, or help people out in the forums when the have questions, then yes, you are a contributor to the site and should be recognized as such.

As far as VIPs go, from what I remember, most if not all of them are former mods/staff.

  7. i think seeing you climb over the railing and falling made it all worthwhile :D

    FML.... Touché, sir, touché..

Srsly tho, put up those vids, and I /know/ that you got a vid of 99 bottles!

^ LOL I was there to see that. Shout out to numbrocker, mckellynna, DRO22, and LPxDC as well as all the other cool people I met that day.

    Which one were you? lol

  8. Just a quick note I didn't see on the show page.

At the end of BIO, the band was looping and Mike and Chester both looked up at Rob to see if he wanted to do a solo, he refused them both even after what seemed to be encouragement from BBB as well. Then they went into a "sing-along" and apparently some mis-communication happened and everyone stopped playing while Chester was singing with the crowd

  9. Awesome show.... Got to talk to Fiore for a bit, saw Pooch, but didnt realize it was him until Mark texted me back too late :P and got home at 4AM to be in for work at 6... I'm fried, but it was so well worth it..

I even got to meet brad mike and chester briefly after the show. I got my moneys worth.

WTH.... And you didn't call me??
