  1. Mike was doing FM solo shows in 2015 and he also put out Welcome, etc. LOL.

Lift Off and I.O.U. were also written for FM, before Chester even passed.

People are stupid and will say anything to make it seem like LP was about to break up and Chester killed himself for some stupid reason of whatever they have in their head. I hate people like that. All these conspiracy theory idiots like the guy who asked Mike during an interview if he believed that ''sinister hands'' were involved in Chester's death. Or the idiots who think Chester and Chris Cornell were going to expose some pedophile ring so they got ''suicided'' to keep from saying anything. These people truly are the worst.

  2. I think Chester's lack of involment with One More Light also had to do with this:

    http://linkinpedia.com/index.php?title=One_More_Light#Writing_and_Recording

I'm not sure who the friend is, but let's not forget Scott Weiland passed away right after Linkin Park entered the studio. He was like Chester's hero and they had become friends over the years. Chester was clearly upset when the news came out.

"Talking To Myself" might not be credited to Chester, but the song is literally about how his wife felt while he was going through all this stuff. I guess "Nobody Can Save Me" deals with Chester's struggles at the time as well. Then you have "Heavy" (one of the songs he actually wrote) which is about his state of mind at that time.

TTM is a great example that just because Chester isn't a primary writer of a song, doesn't mean that he didn't help with lyrics and melodies. It's shown many times throughout LPTV/LPUTV/Making Of's, etc. and said during interviews.

Good points, though. Chester said that 2015 was the worst year of his life and 2016 wasn't that great, either, during this interview for OML. https://i.imgur.com/FJppy9i.pngScott Weiland also passing was definitely hard on Chester. Scott and Chester's weren't close friends, as Scott revealed during an interview after Chester joined the band, but still, Chester looked up to him growing up and stuff. And then his Step Dad died, he says in that interview posted above that someone else close to him attempted suicide, etc. On top of that he started drinking again, etc. like you pointed out. And then in 2017, Chris Cornell's suicide was a huge blow to Chester. I'm not sure if that was the final blow for him, because we don't know other issues that he was going through in his personal life, but you never know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfoV2L2MkQ4 He also talks here about how all of his relationships in life were failing and that he told his therapist that he just wanted to die or not feel anything.

Some dark stuff. Chester had depression. And with suicide, you're never going to know the answer, it's text book, everyone struggles with that after losing someone to suicide. But if you look at all of those things together, plus probably way more that we don't know/shouldn't know, there you go.

    Good Day guys :)

    Hmmm...

  4. Best show of each album touring cycle:

    HT: Goldsmith College 2001

    Meteora: Mountain View 2004

MTM: Lots of good ones... maybe a European Summer Tour 2008 show or Hannover, MSG, Sacramento 2008

    ATS: MSG 2011

    LT: Summer Sonic 2013

THP: Orlando 2015 or Beijing 2015

OML: Was cut way too short in touring cycle to tell, but probably Berlin 2017?

    But best 5?

    Probably

    1. Mountain View 2004

    2. Goldsmith College 2001

    3. Summer Sonic 2013

    4. MSG 2011

    5. Hannover 2008

  5. KROQ livestream mixes never disappoint. How can they consistently be that bad? Is there a single KROQ show with a good mix?

Weenie Roast 2007 is one of my favorites and even though the quality isn’t that good, I feel like it’s better than a lot of other shows they have webcasted. AAC 2012 sounded worse than AAC 2000, wtf? Lol. But yeah, I don’t know why they haven’t tried to do anything for it.

  6. Mike has said quite a few times that Post Traumatic was his journey out of the darkness, so putting a huge focus on his immediate grief surrounding Chester would sort of conflict with that. The first few songs on the album are about that grief (namely the EP songs and NMSA), but most of the album was meant to be him trying to find ways to move forward and make something out of a tragedy.

Great point. Mike has said a few times that Crossing A Line is the middle of the record, and it was there intentionally, because the way that he sequenced the album, was that the first half was darker and looking back, while the second half, starting with Crossing A Line, was coming out of that darkness.

The first 7 tracks are pretty dark. Place To Start, while it doesn't sound as dark as the others instrumentally, has some somewhat dark lyrics, with Mike questioning his career, his path ahead, everything. It was also a OML demo that he wanted originally to open up OML, but they went with NCSM as time went on, he said something like that in Kerrang about that song, so it was probably dark for him to revisit a song that Chester probably had heard at one point, etc.. Over Again, we know it's a dark song, talking about Chester's tribute show, and also Mike's career, etc. Watching As I Fall deals with Mike struggling emotionally and it's a pretty straight forward track. Nothing Makes Sense Anymore is dark as hell, lyrically, it doesn't have much ''hope'' in the lyrics, it's basically about being lost in life, at least to me. About You might be the darkest, or close to it. Basically the song is saying that even when Mike tries to write about something else, or do something else, people will just associate it with Chester. Blackbear also worked on OML with LP so it probably opened up some old scars bringing back memories of Mike and Chester, etc. Brooding has always been a super dark sounding instrumental to me. Promises I Can't Keep is also kind of dark, talking about how he never saw the band coming unglued, or being broken apart, and how he now has to face that going forward, there will be some promises that he can't keep.

  7. People weren’t saying he didn’t grieve publicly enough. It was what he was grieving for that was the question.

I'm not even saying that I personally believe that. But ever since Chester's sister came out with that info and stuff, it's just thrown everything into a frenzy for a lot of fans. I was mainly just saying that's what the original post I had was about.

  8. Wow, the LPTV of MTM? or the Making of MTM? never noticed before.

anyway, i'm trying to find the LPTV 2003 during Making of Meteora episodes in a better audio quality.. (Idk if exist), just found 240p quality on YT.. you know if i can find them in a better quality?

The LPTV and LPUTV for MTM. The Making Of doesn't really have any unknown songs during it aside from showing small clips of Grecian, Song #72 and early versions of songs like Blackbirds, Given Up, Leave Out All The Rest, No More Sorrow.

I can think of one episode in particular, called ''Mike's Shirt'' from LPUTV 2007. It featured an unknown instrumental during the episode. But there are many more. They stopped doing it with ATS and onwards.

Unfortunately, I don't have higher quality videos of LPTV from 2003. I don't know where you would find it.

  9. That is extremely disappointing. I've already expressed that a couple of times but I will say it again - I don't like the fact that almost none of the tracks from Post Traumatic are about Chester. I mean... Mike is not obligated to write about him but it should be kind of natural. Well, okay - we have "Looking For An Answer" but it's not even an official studio track. Mike's already released 18 songs since Chester's passing and there is no song about him. When I was listening to "What The Words Meant" today, I was almost certain that it's about Chester, about the lyrics that he wrote and how they were working on the songs together. And it was such a nice feeling, really! However, when I read on Mike's twitter that these lyrics are not about Chester, the song got a lot worse in my eyes. You know, I felt that it's finally THIS song and when I see the news, it was like... disappointing, yeah.

And don't get me wrong - I love Post Traumatic and I love every song Mike releases but it's a bit strange that he just hasn't wanted to express his loss in any song. Okay, almost every song on the album is about a loss in a way but I feel like there is no song about Chester as a person - why he was a friend of Mike, why he misses him, etc. I think that Mike on Post Traumatic focues mainly on Mike's own thoughts and feelings as well as his career. I'm not telling that he doesn't miss Chester but I can't understand why he hasn't expressed yet in any of his solo songs.

I agree with some of the stuff you're saying but you’ll probably get slaughtered for having an opinion like that in the LP fan base. A lot of people online are saying it seems like Mike was upset about losing his career and his band more than he was about losing his friend to suicide. But yeah, LFAA is the only song really speaking about losing Chester, and it was just a live one time thing, I'm starting to think. Someone asked him about the song on the Europe tour a few months ago apparently and he said that he doesn’t even remember the song.

  10. The touring cycle was fine, I saw the band 3 times in 2012 and 1 time in 2013, they were some of the best shows that I’ve ever been to. And the album is amazing and always has been. Is it their best album of all? No, but it’s amazing. Tinfoil/Powerless is probably my favorite closer to any album from the band, Powerless is such a great, powerful and emotional song. Skin To Bone, Until It Breaks, Victimized and Roads Untraveled are all experimental as fuck and great tracks. Roads Untraveled especially now that Mike revived it in recent years. Castle Of Glass, Burn It Down and Lost In The Echo are all great singles and amazing live songs. Huge energy. And it’s clear that the band loves those singles. In My Remains and I’ll Be Gone are pretty good songs, even though Primo was a little better than I’ll Be Gone, I’ll Be Gone is still a great song. In My Remains is a beautiful song.

  11.

Disagree, LT was the weakest one. Production wasn't nowhere to be "good", as I said, with a few exceptions. Rubin worked fine on MTM & ATS, I don't know what the hell happened there, never truly liked that album.

Seems like you really just hate Living Things for whatever reason. It's fine if you don't like it. My original point was that the album had some personal lyrics on it, which the band specifically said they wanted to have on the album.

  12. Mike just said on Twitter that What The Words Meant isn't about LP, it's about another band that he always loved their songs, and he later found out that it was about the loss of the person's sister. So now we can clear up any speculation about that song, and if he was talking about Chaz.

What the Words Meant is taking a bit to grow on me. It's not bad, it's just "yeah it's a good song but let's go back to PYW because holy shit!"

Agreed. If I had to pick one ''bonus track'' for the albums, that would definitely be my choice for Post Traumatic. Kind of like how Qwerty would be the one I would pick for MTM. It's on that level of epicness.

  13. That's probably because was known for showing up and kicking fucking ass no matter who they opened for. And it continues with Mike.

There's a different sense of energy they put in when they aren't headlining, whether it's subconsciously or not. I love the shorter shows.

Mike in Camden was absolutely fucking epic. People texted messages to the big screen to show for the rest of the ENTIRE night. Like 9 of 10 messages were about Mike and Chester. Incredible.

Weenie Roast was just epic to me. Mike's first show by himself and he just came out and did it and it sounded good. It was badass when he was like ''This is my first show by myself'', etc. during the show. I guess I just have memories attached to that show. But yeah, Camden seemed great. Wish there was a SBD recording of that one.

  14. Really wonder who he's talking about in verse 2 of PYW.

Don't really know if it ties in to the people causing the drama the last few days. To me, I don't know why he would seek their approval anyways and support for his direction. Seems like it's someone a bit closer to him that gave him an "I don't know" and he felt betrayed/frustrated. I know it doesn't make if it's about the band. I don't know, this cryptic stuff really has me curious.

I don't think he is directly addressing Tobi, Susan, or Sam. These songs were announced for release weeks ago and they probably date from long before that. It's interesting to me who he is talking about, but it's probably someone that we wouldn't be able to guess, or know. I also still want to know who he was talking about in Hold It Together during the second verse.

  15. LIVING THINGS might be a "better" option for that, it's the shortest album of them all after OML, and it felt rushed for the most part, with a few exceptions. It's likely the least favorite album to me.

Aside for that matter, I'm enjoying both new songs, PYW is great.

Lyrically? Hell no. You might not like Living Things but the lyrics were definitely personal on a lot of the songs. LITE, IMR, BID, IBG, COG, RU, Powerless? Even LGM and Victimized probably came from an angry place, I remember Chester said during an interview around the time that the album came out that they came from a place within. I wasn’t saying THP wasn’t good or it was a bad album, I was saying that it had the most uninspired lyrics IMO. Aside from Final Masquerade, like HybridXero said.

  16. Wow, this has never really happened to me this quickly, but I really love Prove Me Wrong now. After only listening to it for like a few hours now, it's become possibly better than the album to me. The melody throughout the entire song is killer and it's so emotional and raw. Mike sounds so pissed in verse 2. I really feel bad for Mike man sometimes.

I recently listened to Easier to Run for the first time in a while, and that song just hit me really hard. I know Chester wrote that one on his own. Even if he and the band claimed to not like that song later, it definitely is a very personal song for Chester.

I definitely agree that Mike is referring to the songs Chester wrote as a whole. He realizes they werent just cool lyrics and melodies, but that Chester had been through those things in a way that Mike could not even imagine.

What do you think he is saying, that you cant support?

Well, upon the first few listens, I thought he was dissing the other guys in LP in the second verse, but I don't think that's the case now after listening many times. Even if he is, it's done in a way that you can feel his pain and struggle of trying to keep his world together.

  17. Chester only wrote Heavy & Halfway Right so I don't feel that the rest of the album is based on his personal experience I still dislike that tons of people were involved in the writing process of the album. It's their most unipersonal album ever.

Chester was writing about his problems literally since the very first Linkin Park song ever written with him, And One. ''Keep it locked up inside'', etc. I hate when people think stuff like, ''One More Light, at first I hated it, but now that Chester committed suicide, the album means so much to me'', etc. and other variations of that. Chester wrote about his pain, anger, sadness, etc. for his entire career. And while I don't agree that One More Light is their least personal album, The Hunting Party for sure is to me, the lyrics were so bland and boring, it's just annoying to hear people say stuff like that. Look at the words Chester sings on Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes To Midnight, etc. Even a lot of songs on Living Things. A Thousand Suns had some, too, but it was a concept album so it dealt with some other stuff lyrically. Hell, you also have Out Of Ashes, High Rise, the Grey Daze stuff, etc. I think that's what Mike is saying with What The Words Meant, their whole career.

  18. Hmm. These tracks aren't bad. I don't necessarily like some of the lyrics in Prove You Wrong, because I'm pretty sure I know what he is saying in a few parts, something I couldn't support. But overall, decent songs. I personally don't think that they sound like Post Traumatic (the album), but LP/Mike have always made curve ball music.
