I've been wrestling with cancelling my pre-order. But I think I'm gonna get it, enjoy it for a moment, and then sell the pieces I don't want (book, lithographs, Cassette). I'm sure someone out there would be down to buy it who didn't want the whole thing

If you don't want the whole Thing then just don't buy it, simple as that

I mean both can be overpriced?

Value is obviously subjective, I'm sure there were people who thought that the TL box set was decent value, personally I was hoping for some more legit new stuff no one has seen/heard of. That is obviously asking a lot after 20 years since most of the content leaked some way or another by now. It's just that $200 is a lot for polished rehashed content IMO. Not judging you for thinking it's reasonable.

Frankly I was one of those People who heard "She Couldn't" and was like "I hope we get a decent version of this some day" Not speaking of a rerecording I just know that the Version that leaked was of bad Quality due to (IIRC) a faulty disc.

I wouldn't consider myself someone to just grab things blindly either (as for example I thought the LT/Recharged Thing was both pricey af and kinda useless. However this stuff has so much that I (and many others) have longed for and again, 200$ almost seems like Little from the stuff we are getting.

For example I was never in the LPU and while the stuff being on YouTube and all that, having the chance to own it on CD is like a dream come true for me (sure the past LPU CDs are out there but super pricey)

Isn't this a bit of a cash grab? I mean does it add enough value to warrant the price?

Excuse me? But for all this Content I think 200 $ is super cheap.

look at the Recharged/Living Things boxset that had 2 CD and a sculpture thingy and was 500. So which do you think warrants it's Price?

this show in Uniondale 02 is 1h06min, it's a complete show
    the concert will take 58min

this 8 min interval will probably remove "Joe Solo and My Own Summer and probably big stretches between songs, (I believe it is a very electrifying and very direct show)

I dream of a PR02 show for many years, this is a dream come true.

anyway we will have to wait until the release or someone to talk to someone on the LP team, to get this question out (which would be great) lol
to end this doubt doubt lol.

an observation when they play "Step Up" Mike and chester talk about  3:00 min before start Step Up
and in this period Mike interacts with the fans, it will probably be removed what saves time for songs.

so it is an almost certain possibility
that in 58 min and excluding those parts of conversations, breaks and "Joe Solo and My Own Summer"

we will have all the other 14 songs from the Set.
I calculating and thinking here I believe this will be the set:

    1. With You
    2. Runaway
    3. Papercut
    4. Points Of Authority
    5. Step Up
    6. Pushing Me Away
    7. In The End
    8. A Place For My Head
    9. Forgotten
    10. It's Goin Down
    11. Crawling
    12. My December
    13. By Myself
    14. One Step Closer

LP NEVER cuts banter from the Shows. Live In Texas. Road to Revolution, HT LIve at Download ALL have banter. So to me it likely is an error at this point

Don't know, Maybe it is an error, maybe Adam can confirm that? We figured out the length for some of those tracks before the pre-order has happened and at least one store confirmed them. Also, I hope Pts.Of.Athrty has incorrect length, if not, we will probably get the single version of it (at this point I'm talking about the version that will be in digital stores, not thephysical/digital version from warner stores).

I have decided to contact Adam via Twitter,

Someone should check the actual song length from a recording of 2002

What if without the dead moments and talking we could actually get a real full set?

apart from the three edits we just mentioned we are getting a full set I don't know what you're asking

  6. The runtime for the PR show is listed as 58 minutes right? Lets just say My own summer and Joe Solo will be cut and Runaway since it was botched. Lets just round it up to 5 minutes for each song and Joe solo being about 2. That already narrows it down to about 58 minutes if my math is correct (which I doubt since I suck at math)

it really is a great gift friend, congratulations 👍😉

the projekt revolution cannot be cut, because the advertising trailler itself says "3 Full Shows"

it would be a mistake to say 3 full concert and soon the PR02 would be cut.

Congratulating someone ona gift TWICE is a bit much right?

Also PR02 ahas been confirmed to come from multipple shows. So I do think the 3 Full shows is kind of a misnomer honestly

Oh, so, does that mean, unlike She Couldn't,  the "forgotten demos" are not going to be uploaded on the Linkin Park official YouTube channel?

I'm not too sure. But still. I don#t think 'casual' fans are gonna dig that deep. They either know about Mark already or they don't even know stuff with him exists much less that its on YT

I can't wait to see the look on all of the casual fans faces when they hear Mark Wakefield sing. They will probably have no idea who it is.

That said I doubt "casual" fans are even interested in this. They might buy the 2 CD edition (which has the B-Sides) and thats it.

As far as the LPU tracks go, this will be the first time we get 3 of those physically, since they were only released digitally for the monthly releases that year, which is nice and also a bit sad for the remaining three.

There are a few nitpicks I have with this, like the missing vinyl on the expensive set, but they are vastly outweighed by what is being offered. There's also some stuff I feel would have been cool to include, but for all I know, some weren't possible. Some of this was mentioned, and this is by no means complaining, but...

    • A cassette reissue of the main album. Eminem has some cool ones for his first few albums where the cassette color matches the album and the cover art is lenticular. They already are producing cassettes for the sampler, so it wouldn't have been too out there. LPU 16 even had a lenticular cover, too
    • A Xero reproduction tape could have been cool too since Mark's stuff is being included, but I kinda wonder if they knew the value of some of the OG stuff and didn't want to devalue it (for example, the EP isn't on CD, only vinyl)
    • Blu-ray instead of DVDs would have been nice, I've always wanted Frat Party at the very least in better quality, but if the source material isn't good enough for that, it's understandable. DVD is just kinda out the door at this point, and it's not just this release that I have this gripe with, plenty of releases for other stuff I'm interested in is exclusively DVD, even for modern material
    • Unreleased Reanimation remixes or demos would have been nice since they are including Reanimation in all this. I wouldn't have expected Reanimation in this to begin with, so this is super minor
    • Other iterations of songs we have have unofficially would have been great to finish the collection, which was already mentioned for Part of Me, but there's other like Crawling with Mike's rap (that Forgotten Demos version may cover this though). I also really wish High Voltage would be uncensored, which is also super minor, but we are getting the rock mix of One Step Closer, it's not that out there in my opinion
    • Hybrid Theory instrumentals would have been fantastic

    There's always the 25th anniversary!

Also, Points of Authority is 1/8 of this 80 song collection. This is the new Breaking the Habit

I'm pretty sure the tape is what it is. Someone would have to rip the Xero tape, then remaster that rip. But considering how bad quality even the "HQ" rips on youtube are, its clear why they abandonned that idea
Also I am sure that the video quality is not good enough to warrant a Blu Ray release

That said the Mikes rap version of Crawling is on the Forgotten Demos disc.

  11. Even the trailer says 3 full shows (Fillmore, Rock Am Ring 2001, and the last one has to be PR02). Odd.

I first heard that on the LPL stream with Mark and Astat, but apparently that info was revealed in a Rolling Stone article about the release.

It would make sense for it not to be a full show since, if you read the pages on LPL some songs had to be restarted etc

So yeah it would make sense to be replaced with each other.

We dont know for sure its the ONLY version with Mark. But knowing how close the instrumental of The Crow Version is to the Hybrid Theory earliest demo, im pretty sure it was the last they recorded with Mark. Im pretty sure it will be the one we have but im really hoping its something slightly different.

We have two versions we know of that include Mark on vocals. The Xero tape version and the Zomba/Crow version. I dunno but considering that its nigh impossible to make the tape sound good, I personally would say that the Zomba version is the only one that would be that

For him to be trolling, Mike and Chester both would have had to simultaneously remember a specific song that doesn’t actually exist. It’s real. We just don’t know if it’s Could Have Been or Dialate or something else entirely.

I just think its odd that for example at the start Chester is like "What are you playing" and then suddenly Chester remembers that he also did vocals for that song? I mean...they do orget stuff sometimes (remember that one time where Mike thought Wake was on Meteora?) it just struck me as odd.

I don't want to argue but what makes electronic music less personal? for example i don't think ATS is a less serious album because they used mostly electronic elements.

"The most plastic sounding instrumentals" dude those shitty producers like Chainsmoker wish they can make beats like that the ones on OML

I never said electronic music makes it les personal. Heck I listen to electronic music all the time. I just think that the music on OML sounds like Chainsmokers, and while I do kinda like OML as an album at this point. The music on ATS sounds fresh exciting and what have you but the OML sounds like greed to me. Just the type of cheap and lackluster electronic music on the radio that is written just that, for mass appeal. To me about half the album still sounds like they hired a guy who has only heard the name Linkin Park but who mainly saw $$$$$ to slap some beats together and then Chester and Mike wrote their usual lyrics on top of it

So basically instrumentals  that could be produced by anyone + lyrics that are intimate and personal = a mix that I dislike

Like look at One More Light. its a song that sounds and reads (as in the lyrics) as deeply personal and it works.

  15. 1. Outside writers for OML
    2. Using mostly electronic sounds for OML. I mean if you remember the album was hyped up as being "the most personal thing" and all that jazz, but then having personal lyrics and putting them with the most plastic sounding instruentals seems too much of a dissonance.
    3. Not releasing HT Live at Download Festival as a CD for EVERYONE.
    4. Not Making the "special edition with a booklet" version of THP the only one.
    5. Censoring live releases
