I really don't have the money at all. Been a really tough year for me in every way possible, even before Chester's death, and it doesn't show any sign of letting up. I did say in my original post that I wouldn't feel entirely at home there since there are definitely bigger fans out there than me - many of the people that posted here - because I don't really ''love'' all of their music, but I would still enjoy going. I also have commitments that wouldn't allow me to go, people depend on me. It sucks all around... but what can you do. I hope I'll at least be able to watch some of it on YouTube after it happens, etc.

Anyways, thank you very much for the offer. I really appreciate it. You've always been a really cool member of this site. Someone should definitely take you up on that offer.

Damn, I hear you. Sorry to hear about everything. I have also had a rough year but I'm close enough that I figured what the hell? I wouldn't say there are bigger fans out there than us, we just liked LP in a different era is all. I'm going to sort of close a chapter in my life. It's going to be weird as hell not seeing Chester on the stage and I don't know that I'm ready for that so I was hoping to have a person who's been a fan for a long ass time go with me. You immediately came to mind.

Take care, buddy. I hope things quickly improve for you.

  2. Geki, you should fly out. I have an extra ticket if you're interested bro. Would be epic watching the show with you lol

If Geki isn't interested, this offer is valid for anyone else wanting to go. Please PM me but know that I am only selling a (1) ticket because a person in our group dropped out and I am only wanting face value. No bs, just watching an LP show with spraypaintninkpens.

EDIT: Ticket sold! See you all there!!!!!!!!!!

Same here. I really want to hear that ''Thoughts That Take Away My Pride'' song a lot, especially now. And I'd also love to hear any other Meteora demos that they have. The Meteora remixes would also be epic, if they were indeed real. Has it ever been confirmed by the band if they're real or not? I think Linkin Park should empty the vaults to us of the early Linkin Park albums demos, from 1997-2008. That's my dream.

Yes! And the "Just drag it out" song. And that sick instrumental that was never released. So much good content from that era.

    Their statement was:

"Our love for making and performing music is inextinguishable," the band wrote. "While we don't know what path our future may take, we know that each of our lives was made better by you. Thank you for that gift. We love you, and miss you so much."

To me, that says they plan on continuing on and even playing live without Chester. I'll admit, it did shock me a bit, since Chester is 100% not replaceable, but who knows. There are plenty of other bands and artists out there that I would support of Linkin Park without Chester. I just feel bad for all the fans who love Linkin Park and want them to continue. So like I said, I'm not gonna say they shouldn't continue, because a lot of people want them to, it's just my own personal opinion that they shouldn't.

And there are quite a few that Chester didn't sing on in Linkin Park's catalog, but none of them are big songs at all, most are very obscure, underground songs. Invisible was the closest to being a hit with Mike singing lead.

The setlists were basically just singles. I don't see them selling out arenas by skipping the singles all of a sudden. Idk how this is going to work but something feels wrong about them continuing to me as well. It's not the same and it will never be for this band.

  6. I read that he was on talking with the Sum 41's drummer Frank Zummo on do something with DBS. That's sad because will be a very interesting return of DBS.

    From Frank's instagram:

Going further down the road, Julien-K’s drummer left them right before a tour, and they said, “Hey, we’re doing this tour in Europe. Would you want to do this?” And I was like, “Of course.” We went out to Europe for two weeks, and on that tour, they asked me if I would want to be part of Dead By Sunrise. I was like, “100 percent.” We were going to do a show together in Arizona, where Julien-K were going to play with Street Drum Corps, and Chester was living in Arizona. We were going to do an unannounced, surprise reunion show. Last minute, it wound up not working out.

A couple months ago this past winter, Sum 41 were finishing a nine-week tour. I’m in a random little bar in Russia, and this song comes on, and it was a deep cut from the Dead By Sunrise album that I didn’t recognize at first. I just heard Chester’s voice, and I’m like, “What is this?” And I’m like, “Oh my God, this is Dead By Sunrise!” At that point, I literally got on a group text with Chester, Amir and Ryan. I’m like, “Guys, I’m in Russia. This is a sign. Let’s do this. No stress: Let’s get together for a week, and let’s do a couple pop-up shows in warehouses in downtown LA Let’s just make it really, really special.” And everyone was like, “Yup. Let’s do this.” Chester’s like, “As soon as I have some time off from Linkin Park.” So we were actually talking about it and getting excited. As soon as I got back from the tour, Ryan and Amir were like, “Thank you for doing that. You’re actually getting the band back together right now by your excitement and the way you approached Chester about it.” It’s horrible that we’re not going to have the chance to do that.

    :(

Idk, this may come across as really dickish of me, but why is it not appropriate now? Chester should be being celebrated for everything he has done in music, not just Linkin Park's new album. His entire career, spanning from like 1992-2017 should be being celebrated. That means unreleased music coming out, video footage, t-shirts, posters, etc. He was the greatest singer of all time, IMO. His family and friends can take how ever long they need to grieve, I understand that. But Chester also left behind a lot of fans. The fans lost just as big of a loss as anyone, and I 100% stand behind that statement.

His music was therapy for me. I agree with your statement. I am just trying not to make anyone upset asking for unreleased content shortly after he passed but it's all I keep thinking about. I wished for another DBS/STP album for years. People don't get it, but those albums were my coping mechanisms. The lyrics and the way he sang about life really helped me. I know a million other people can say the same thing but it felt like he was speaking to me personally on those albums. Even a month later, this doesn't feel right at all.
