  1. I don't hate the track, but after a couple of listens wish it was more developed. I loved ALTNC since the first time I heard it, but DTB seems to just kind of drag on without much happening, kind of like a demo or remix. For better or worse, I wouldn't mind if LP/Aoki teamed up for an EP of original songs at some point.

  2.

2014...seems like one big theatrical show piece with zero breaks in it. And tons of shortened songs.

Please change it up for the USA tour.

Exactly. I actually loved the current set(s) when I saw the first webcast. Still dug it on the second webcast. But by the 3rd or 4th, when you know what's coming next, I got bored. The current set would be cool for a DVD or a movie theater showing, but I'm of the same mindset of those who go to a bunch of shows (like Hahninator) and know the band can do so much more.

I think LP will change up the format and go back to 3 setlists or something different, either this tour or next. The set as is looks and sounds great, but it's too close to being a "show" instead of being a rock concert.

  3. Thanks to this site and the amazing members, I know everything I need to know about this CD and never have to listen to it now. LP Instrumentals, even for the album tracks, bore me to tears. Kudos to LP for making these available to those that are interested, but I'd rather they bring back DSP's or do a small (AFFORDABLE, even) club tourif they truly want to do something special for the hardcore fans.

  4. Releases album after album with completely brickwalled mastering and doesn't bat an eyelash.

Plays major role in documentary that basically consists of a bunch of nitpicking over lossy audio bitrates, claiming that's what's ruining the quality of music these days.

    That's the Shinoda Way!

This thread could have been locked after Astat stated the obvious. :)

  5. I've read people on other boards say that the band just doesn't know how to write heavy music anymore, and come across as a self-important imitation of their past selves. I agree 100%, even if I like most of the album. I think that with the next LP release, I'll ignore any interviews they do, because LP can't back up any of the hype they put out. There's nothing wrong with the music they make, and I love most of it, but people won't be talking about how "Guilty All The Same" brought alternative rock back into the mainstream 20 years from now. So that's my rant against the band over promoting their work, lol.

Personally, I skip "Final Mascerade" just as quickly as I skip past "Powerless", "The Messenger", and "Little Things Give You Away", along with any of the other LP power ballads. Same goes for anything Mike sings on. I don't want 10 "Hybrid Theory" sequels, but prefer to have Mike rapping, Chester finding a balance between singing/screaming, and the band musically mixing it up in the studio like they do on the current setlist: rap and rock mashed up with a DJ using samples and beats to bridge the gap. They do a far better job blending their styles together in the live show than they do in the studio, where tracks like "Until It Breaks" sound like a clusterfuck of an amateur mashup.

  6. Here's what I want to see this Summer, but they won't come anywhere close:

    1) Session

    2) Guilty All The Same

    3) With You ("Reanimation" version)

    4) Blackbirds

    5) Lost in the Echo (with 2012 intro)

    6) Until It's Gone (with "Catalyst"/"No More Sorrow" intro)

    7) A Light That Never Comes

    8) Castle of Glass ("Experience" version)

    9) Blackout

    10) In My Remains

    11) Figure.09

    12) Jornada Del Muerto

    13) Easier to Run

    14) Wastelands

    15) Pushing Me Away ("Reanimation" version)

    16) Mike Solo Medley (

    17) I'll Be Gone

    18) Faint ("A Place For My Head" bridge)

    ENCORE

    19) Leave Out All The Rest (Mike & Chester acoustic)

    20) QWERTY

    21) Forgotten

    22) One Step Closer ("Reanimation" version with extended outro)

    NOTES:

    -No drum solo

-No bathroom breaks (see: Piano versions of anything)

  7. I love every single one of these and can't find a flaw in any of them. Chester seems psyched to be performing new songs, both here and especially at the KROQ show earlier in the week. After watching those two and the Rock AM Ring show, I finally caved and bought a ticket to the Mansfield gig this Summer. Can't wait!

  8. This is my least favorite release based on the purchase process alone. Pre-ordered on iTunes so it would download to my phone automatically at midnight last night. Guess what? Still won't download. Added bonus: I don't get the Hybrid Theory set. This is too much hassle for a mediocre album. I like the new songs mixed into the live show, though. It helps freshen it up alot and all the "Hunting Party" tracks sound great live.

  9. I think i'm the one who isn't that pleased with the album...

You're not alone, there's at least two of us lol. I love "Until It's Gone" & "Guilty All The Same", but the rest of the album doesn't do anything for me after a half dozen listens. I'm sure it'll grow on me over time, but for now, I'm bored to tears with "The Hunting Party".

  10. Heard the track a couple times and like the heavy direction. Rakim's rap doesn't do much for me, and although it's a different vocal approach for Chaz, his voice sounds shot. Maybe that's what they were going for. Either way excited to hear new LP and pre-ordered the official download on iTunes for midnight :)

  11. At best, I hope for one good track on each edition of LPU, and with "Promo", I got it. "Basquait" is decent, and the UIB demos are interesting but without replay value IMO. The rest of the album will be sent to the dusty folder of LP tracks I never listen to.

At best, I hope for one good track on each edition of LPU, and with "Promo", I got it. Considering "Recharged" just came out, Chester & STP did an EP, and there's a new studio album in 2014, I can deal with a lackluster LPU release for now. Releasing "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" on vinyl helps, too.

  12. Overall a pretty weak CD, but Primo was something really refreshing to hear, so have to be glad they released it.

Agreed. Every year there seems to be at least one track that is amazing. "Primo" is great, just like "I have not begun", "QWERTY", and other stand-out tracks have been on past LPU releases.

  13. Finally got mine downloaded. You guys want me to put if the song is an instrumental or not?

    That would be great, thanks.

All the instrumentals make me long for the days of live tracks, especially with DSP's a thing of the past. I'm casting my vote for the "Hybrid Theory" set at Download to be the 2014 LPU CD. $30 for instrumentals and music from other bands is a bit much for my wallet.
