Inside the Studio for "Unshatter" [LPTV FROM ZERO: Episode 43]

With just a few LPTVs left for the album, Linkin Park has released the "making of" LPTV for "Unshatter", off of From Zero's Deluxe Edition!

We see the song being written with Jake Torrey (Overflow, Good Things Go) in 2023 and then a glimpse into Octover 2024 after the band's initial, short comeback tour of them working more on the song.

Dave confirms an alternate version of the song where basically the chorus chords are used as the big "wall of guitars" drop in the intro which I can totally see

 

Mike saying that the bridge is the thing that makes the song worth releasing is funny bc I feel the same. The rest of the song is pretty meh, but that bridge and outro are great

 

Someone at one point says they're working on 4 songs, so there's a 4th we don't know about it seems? Maybe the thing that is blurred on the screen in the making of UFTB

Seems like they were going on a more "dubstep drop" for the bridge but ended up discarding it. When Joe goes to the computer to chop some sounds.

When they say four songs, this is before UFTB was created from scratch

 

It is October 2024 in this for the "batch of four songs."  UFTB LPTV says December 2024 for "the new song." So they wrote after Brad and Mike talked, a brand new song.

 

The other 2 songs besides Unshatter and Let You Fade are unknown, but they could be Counting Stars and/or Breathing Underwater. Aren't those literally the only other 2 we know from the From Zero era? There must be a ton of songs we have no clue about.

That sound is still in the mix, it's just buried and it has a similar texture to a guitar

Yeah in the Drumeo video Colin says "about 50 songs" and he also talks about that one specific to the challenging beat we don't have a name for

Then there's "Vertigo" as a title that may or may not have seen some attention later on
