Digging for demos from 2005-2007 should be way easier for LP than digging for demos from 1998-2003. Tough question, they have way more demos from the 2005-2007 I believe. And I would dare to say they even have even more songs on more advanced phase, akin to Massive or More the Victim. I think they are gonna have a harder time curating what's in the boxset Quote
Soeffingnaive92 Posted Monday at 11:32 AM Posted Monday at 11:32 AM A huge boxset in the style of M20 or HT20 ? Hmmm no, there's a new phase and would be kinda weird seeing how things are going in the band right now to "overshadow" Emily with a Chester - era big release. A celebration of MTM with maybe some unreleased stuff but on a smaller scale ? Maybe, I hope so. The band and the label know how beloved a nd crazy big MTM was, so... I try not to be too optimistic tho Quote

We'll see! Quote
LPLStaff Posted Monday at 01:56 PM Posted Monday at 01:56 PM The statement was referring to waiting until the end of 2026 was too late, not the end of 2025 lol Quote

I just think maybe most people are right, the focus might be on this era mainly. We'll see! Quote
Soeffingnaive92 Posted Monday at 03:03 PM Posted Monday at 03:03 PM About the other albums after ATS, i don’t see them going out with big box sets for them, they are very far and away and didn’t have the pop culture impact of the first 3, like, can you picture THP20 box set in 2034 ? Hmmm lol Quote

thigolpbr Posted Monday at 04:52 PM Author Posted Monday at 04:52 PM If MTM20 doesn't happen, it will confirm that the band will no longer revisit the past. If the logic is "demos with Chester's voice and shows with Chester" could hinder the band's new phase, that's a ridiculous thing to think about. LP1 (if it can be considered as such) will always be better than LP2, but that doesn't harm the band's current work and status, which has been very successful and has gained fans from the new generation. However, the record label knows about the success and how it can still revisit the past to celebrate an album that was also a milestone for LP. I agree that even ATS makes sense to celebrate, LT, THP and OML not so much. But... time will tell if we will have MTM20 or not. All we can do is wait and truly hope that it happens. Quote
theoniza Posted Monday at 05:58 PM Posted Monday at 05:58 PM (edited) I actually loved every album of that era, LT, THP, OML included. Each had its own character, things to express, they experimented and matured along the way and had different things going on that were put in the albums. ATS was pure art. I would love to hear more from each. But, we already mentioned, it's a new era, different focus (for me, the Chester era is what is in my heart, my preference, but the group has also gained new generation fans and will keep going). Time will tell! Let's just see about MTM. Oh, and merry Christmas to all! Edited Monday at 07:45 PM by theoniza Quote
bloodbath Posted Monday at 08:41 PM Posted Monday at 08:41 PM But releasing boxsets just from the first two records would give the image that the band only considers worthy those first two and the rest are just forgettable. Not the best image though Quote

Not the best image though I believe there will be an MTM boxset (I would hope for the rest too ), they certainly don't think that. It's just a bit soon and the focus is not there. Quote
felipeintheend Posted Tuesday at 07:44 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:44 PM It’s very clear to me that the label doesn’t want to draw attention to Chester’s material. A lot of content that includes his voice on Instagram is being taken down. The band is among the top ticket sellers worldwide in the live entertainment industry; they are doing very well and probably don’t want anything to interfere with their new market strategy. They now have a new generation of fans—many people who didn’t even know Linkin Park before. About 80% of me believes there won’t be any more box sets. If anything does come out, it will likely be live shows or similar material, but not demos. If that happens I will be freaking out but I am keeping my expectations very low here based on some bussiness point of view. Quote
