    - Shawn 'Clown' Crahan of Slipknot owned this club back in 1997 for about a year when it was called 'The Safari Club'. As Slipknot got huge though, it became too much to manage and had to be shut down, it later re-opened as Hairy Mary's.

    - This is the first known performance of these ten Linkin Park songs.

    Tour Diary:

    I actually threw up in my mouth in Des Moines. This is a good story though. We were playing in Des Moines, Iowa at Hairy Mary's. There was no air conditioning and it was during the middle of the day. The club is tiny. We showed up at noon and everyone who was going to be watching the show was already there drunk and wasted. We got there, set up our stuff, and got ready to play. People had been there for a while and it smelled bad. It was humid and horrible. We played a full set and two songs before the end I couldn't breathe. I was running around like a madman and got nauseous and threw up. I didn't want to throw up on anybody so I kept it in my mouth and swallowed it. And then I drank a fat glass of water to wash it away and continued with the set. Brad almost passed out. At the end of the show Brad was resting on his Marshall cabinet or he was going to pass out it was so hot. It was a very difficult show for us.

    "Linkin Park started with us today. We had hoped to have them on sooner, but they were busy. To everyone who would have liked to see us with Linkin Park, maybe you'll see us next year with them. It was freezing cold in Columbus today. I don't know what the temp was, but being from California, we're used to 50 degree weather. I know it had to be in the 20's. Anyway, I wasn't feeling very good today; kind of achy. I knew I was coming down with something. I didn't get to watch the other bands, because I wanted to rest as much as I could. When it came time to play, I was feeling pretty bad, but as they say, the show must go on. I felt like crap for the first couple of songs, but after my adrenaline kicked in, I felt fine. I can't remember which song it was, but Jacoby grabbed this 5 year-old kid out of the audience and brought him on stage. The crowd went nuts, and the kid loved it. He started jumping up and down, and just rockin out. I have to say, it was pretty cool. We had a good show tonight, and the crowd was really good. Mike Galaxy himself confirmed the show for LPLive and believes this was Chester's very first show with the band: "They were signed after labels saw them at my showcase [...] Unfortunately I do not remember the date of their performance.     Somewhere In Middle America - Tuesday, August 8th, 2000:

    We're sitting at a TA Travel Center eating and playing video games. Something is wrong with our RV, and our mechanic has ordered a new part. Last night we stayed in Oklahoma City enroute to Texas, where we will be playing four shows. We are on the home stretch of this tour, and are totally inspired by how much fun the shows have been. Kitt's Korner in Madison, Wisconsin went off extra hard as did our show in Grand Rapids. Systematic, who joined the tour in Michigan, is a rad band and is super fun to play with. Off-stage they specialize in home-made fireworks displays. Let's just hope all our gear remains in tact until our Roxy show August 16th. We'll see our LA people soon.     - After playing with them but never talking to them directly in Arizona earlier in the year, this is the show where the band finally was able to meet Papa Roach. Linkin Park sat on the side of the stage for their set, and Papa Roach did the same for them. There were a few girls in the front row during LP's set who kept yelling "Coby! Coby!". After becoming friends at the show, this is where/when Papa Roach invited Linkin Park to open their December 2000 tour for them. According to Jeff Blue's "One Step Closer: From Xero to #1: Becoming Linkin Park" book, Papa Roach had already heard the band's material back in October 1998 when they were called Xero and loved the music.

    - Brad in an interview later in 2000 answering "the biggest audience LP had played in front of": "We played an Atlanta radio festival show with a number of really great huge bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Deftones, Incubus, Papa Roach among others. And the official crowd number at that show was 18,000. There were two stages, so we probably ended up playing for close to 10,000 people, and that was a pretty amazing feeling. The most incredible rush I've gotten onstage, however, actually occurred at Roseland ballroom in NY because there were probably 4,000 people packed into a club and the entire crowd was reacting to our music. Or at least that's how it felt. Someone might have been talking in the back, but onstage it was pretty amazing."

    - Money raised from the show was donated to Angelflight.

    - The Kottonmouth Kings Tour was in Chicago, IL at House of Blues this day, but Linkin Park played this radio show instead.
