    - Sometime between the St. Louis show on the 6th and this show, 'By Myself' was added to the setlist. This is the first confirmed show where it was played, but it is likely that the band played it earlier in 2000 at some point or even 1999 when the song was called 'Super Xero'. The band changed the setlist too, dropping 'Cure For The Itch' and 'And One', changing the order up, and putting 'A Place For My Head' as the set opener.

    Mike: "As far as getting our attention, actually, at our last show in Arizona there was a big painting of our album cover and our name by some of the kids who worked at Tower Records. They took the time to paint up a version of our album cover on a six foot tall piece of wood. That probably took a lot of time. I was really impressed."

    - The show took place on Halloween, which was Chester and Sam's anniversary (Chester mentions it during the show).

    - This was Scott Koziol's last show with Linkin Park. According to Jeff Blue's "One Step Closer: From Xero to #1: Becoming Linkin Park" book, a couple of days after Halloween he had lunch with Brad and Phoenix who announced Phoenix was returning to the band.

    - In late 2000, fansites posted that Linkin Park would be performing on an upcoming episode of "Farmclub." LPLive found this while researching the band's past history and in 2017 finally figured out what it was. On July 21st, the day after Chester passed, Jonathan Solin posted on Facebook, "Years ago, when I worked for the great Farmclub, I was sent to interview an unknown band at the old Palace in Hollywood. We interviewed Linkin Park in a ratty dressing room at the venue and they came off as young, likeable, funny, goofy guys. When interview over, Chester ran down street to give us free tix to the show that night. It was a great show. We never aired that segment cuz they weren't known yet. A month later, the album came out and exploded. They had a ton of hits and I liked them very much. This was the song they played for us that day." This confirms the date and performance. The video is unreleased.

    - This show was an expected crowd of 500, but over 5,000 people showed up. Traffic was completely jammed.
    - The band performed a soundcheck before the show while the crowd was there. 'Points Of Authority' and 'Forgotten' are confirmed by the video recording but it's possible other songs were played too during soundcheck.

    - After the show, the band signed autographs on free calendars that were given out in Best Buy.

    - We do not have a list of other bands at the show, but Linkin Park headlined.

    - In 2015's podcast with LP Association, Mike mentioned that people still come up to him and say that they saw Linkin Park play in the parking lot of a Best Buy, referring to this show.

    - The Kottonmouth Kings Tour was in Norfolk, VA at The Boathouse this day, but Linkin Park played this radio show instead. This was the second radio show in two months that caused LP to skip shows in Norfolk. A press question came up about this later...

    Q: "Linkin Park has been scheduled to be here in Norfolk, Virginia twice, and each time they have chosen to play a radio show instead. This is happening again on November 11th. I told the band when I met them in Richmond to come to Norfolk, but each chance they've had they've played somewhere else. What do you have against Norfolk?"

    LINKIN PARK - Mike: "I've never been to Norfolk but I hope to play there someday. The unfortunate thing is that when our label or our management hears of a radio event where we can play in front of a large number of people, they'll usually pull us out of a smaller show so that we can play there. It's just a coincidence that it's happened a couple times in Norfolk. We have nothing against it, we have a bunch of street teamers from there, in fact. We hope to play there at some point."

    - March 20th, 2001 article written by Mike Galaxy reads: "Formerly Halogen, Dr. Lady was one of Music Connection's best 100 unsigned bands of 2000. The band has had several gigs recently including opening for Slash at the House of Blues and for Hybrid Theory at the Troub". The band has changed it's name to Dr. Lady around early 2001, so they definitely were still called Halogen at the time. The band then ultimately changed it's name to Orson. Mike Galaxy has confirmed the show for LPLive in November 2016.

    - In the LPU chat on April 20th, 2015 Brad said his 2015.04.18 appearance at the Jakob Dylan show was his first time performing at The Troubadour. He discussed working at the Roxy and playing other clubs in Los Angeles both growing up and with Linkin Park, but said he had never played The Troubadour until this show, so it was an exciting moment for him. However, Lee Cadena's (Rap Editor at Urban Network Magazine and the creator of the Rapology CD series that started an artist management and development company in 1998 called LCM which worked with Xero) bio reads: "The first group he consulted was Xero, they changed their name to Hybrid Theory and Lee would introduce them at famous Hollywood spots like, The Whiskey and The Troubadour", so it's possible Brad is not actually correct on that statement.

    - In the video footage that is shown during the documentary, we can see Hybrid Theory rehearsing three songs. The rehearsal was two and a half hours long and until the full footage is obtained, the setlist is incomplete. They played early versions of 'A Place For My Head' ('Esaul' at the time) and 'Forgotten' ('Rhinestone' at the time) as well as 'Slip', which was unknown from 2006 until 2011, when it was released on the LP Underground 11 album. While we know 'Esaul' and 'Rhinestone' were definitely played live, this is the only known performance of 'Slip'.

    - The performance of 'Slip' is a different version of the song (probably "further along" song-wise/a more worked-on version) than the version released on the LP Underground 11 album.

    - Joe is seen scratching DJ Qbert's "100mph Backsliding Turkey Kuts" vinyl while playing a beat from DJ Babu's "Super Duck Breaks...The Saga Begins."

     Tour Diary:

    We arrived in St. Petersburg, Florida, after driving almost three-days-straight from Los Angeles (we did shower once). Fortunately, the ride was smooth and we only got really lost once (partially my fault). Unfortunately, when we arrived in St. Pete, looking forward to finally getting half-a-night's-rest, our tour manager got stuck in the hotel elevator. An hour later, the fire department had managed to free her from that evil machine. We opened up for a band called Union Underground, who we'll be touring with for the next three weeks. The show was awesome and the people we met at the State Theater were super-friendly. Special thanks to the street-teamers who were representing in the front. We can't wait to meet all the Linkin Park streat-teamers and supporters who catch us on our current tour. Keep checking the website for more journal entries and information on shows.     Somewhere In Middle America - Tuesday, August 8th, 2000:

    We're sitting at a TA Travel Center eating and playing video games. Something is wrong with our RV, and our mechanic has ordered a new part. Last night we stayed in Oklahoma City enroute to Texas, where we will be playing four shows. We are on the home stretch of this tour, and are totally inspired by how much fun the shows have been. Kitt's Korner in Madison, Wisconsin went off extra hard as did our show in Grand Rapids. Systematic, who joined the tour in Michigan, is a rad band and is super fun to play with. Off-stage they specialize in home-made fireworks displays. Let's just hope all our gear remains in tact until our Roxy show August 16th. We'll see our LA people soon.
