  1. I think there's a mistake with the link, it's just linking me to Guilty All The Same.

    Oh wait.

Seriously though, I like both of these songs individually, but how did they not realize that the two songs are so close to one another. They're the same key, start similarly, and the choruses (vocal lines mainly) are so close to identical I'm shocked that no one in the studio did anything about it. Seriously, there is zero deviation from what Chester yells at the end of each chorus: (GUILTY ALL THE SAME/WASTELANDS OF TODAY).

After A Thousand Suns, Living Things disappointed me so heavily that I feel foolish for having faith in this album. Although this already sounds better than LT, they still sound like they're regressing instead of growing. I hope the rest of this album proves me wrong.

Edit: The rest of the album proved me wrong, it was pretty great.

  2. The review sounds full of itself to say the least. To be able to compare The Messenger to such music is completely absurd to say the least.

The album took me some getting used to, but it's rare for me to like an album as an entirety, and ATS did that. They managed to create their own sound and forced their fans to grow up.

Sometimes I just don't get people. Including myself. Why am I even ranting? It doesn't change anyone's opinion.

I think I need to get some sleep now.

  3. I managed to restrain myself and only listen to like 3 previews. I like what I'm hearing though.

Also, can everyone stop BAWWWing over 30 second clips? Seriously? Who do you think you are to be calling LP such names for less than 10% of the album in random bits and bursts? It's like listening to the album, but you're dropping acid so you end up blacking out for a good deal of the album and remembering random parts of the songs, and then telling your friends you don't like it.

You didn't hear most of it, so stop acting like you did.

Also, people complained that they were going mainstream in MTM with Leave out all the rest and shadow of the day. Oh wait, or was that Meteora with Numb? It doesn't matter. Mainstream or not, good music is good music. If you don't like LP for the music they make, then you're not a Linkin Park fan, you're a nu-metal fan in denial.

  4. I immediately said "holy crap" the moment I read that out loud. Jesus that's a lot of demos. Remember back in the old days when we had to scour the earth for things like Plaster?

I just hope the LPU doesn't troll us by doing:

    1. PLASTER (ONE STEP CLOSER DEMO) LOL

    2. SHE COULDNT (1337 demo) U MAD?

    3. BY MYSELF (demo 19823498) COOL STORY BRO

  5. I wish they would do something like this with Phoenix, I'd love asking him why he keeps his basslines so simple when he can come up with really good ones (such as Forgotten), along with how he should slap more often.

I asked brad about why he doesn't like using pinch harmonics, what his first guitar was, and what it was like to tour with Coheed & Cambria (inb4 Mark telling me about how much they suck).

  6. OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT this is awesome. 15 tracks, fuck yes. Not to mention the names look pretty damn awesome. Much more mature and better named then a good deal of other songs. One thing I didn't like on MTM was how every song title was named directly off of something in the chorus of the song (or something similar). I'm hoping for some really awesome progressive stuff.

  7. Just because people can't understand album covers, that doesn't make this one bad by any means. If anything, MTM was the worst (no creativity, just a picture of the band), and even then it looks cool. This cover represents a concept you don't even know/understand yet, and it looks pretty amazing to me. Don't forget that the actual album cover will have Linkin Park/A thousand suns written on it.

Just because it isn't the generic album art you're used to with all the other mainstream bands that doesn't mean that an actual piece of good artwork is suddenly crap just because you don't like anything that doesn't look mainstream. This is actually a quality album cover. You're not a tool for not liking the album cover but you're a tool for expecting something mainstream as opposed to something good. I think LP has become popular enough that they don't need something that appeals to everyone instantly. Good music is good music.

And Meteora has a badass album cover. It looks awesome regardless of how poetic it is or not.

  8. Do some people seriously not like the cover? I think it's pretty amazing. Their second best album cover, so simplistic and yet so interesting. Only bested because HT has the HT soldier on it, which may be the most awesome thing ever.

  9. THERE will be guitar on it..

there is no way for 5:43 minutes brad will look at mike and chester on stage and say:

"my guitar is broken i dont know =/ "

when his guitar no really broken..

"What brad? Your guitar is broken? Don't worry, we'll just play The Catalyst while you go get it fixed."

  10. Ever since Coheed & Cambria became one of my favorite bands, this is all I have to say:

    YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Progressive Linkin park, holy shit. That really is a new genre.
