  1. well, the summoning will lead into war which seems to be a short, super heavy kick in our face. i can't come up with another explanation for those song times.

i like that they put the interlude+song at the 4th/5th place on the album, sounds fresh.

i also believe that ALITS is more of a rock ballad than a heavy rocker just like TLTGYA

  2. BID around the wolrd DVD, containing:

    - 15 equal versions of BID at different venues and the band wearing different clothes

    - including two never seen before perfomances of Numb and Crawling

    - lyrics of BID on a speical-venyl-super-package-art mushroom

    - 3 hour making of BID with comments by JAY-Z

  3. UIG definitly is the single with a standard catchy pop/rock song to promote the album, don't car about this one.

glad to hear hip hop and mike often in this reviews.

unfortunately there won't be any screaming on this songs. it's okay, if they're really as aggressive and fast as GATS.

but i predict there will always be screaming on a LP record

  4. DX: The rest of the album, what are we in for?

Mike Shinoda: It’s a Rock record. It’s loud and it’s Rock, but not in the sense of what you’ve heard before, which is more like ‘90s Hardcore-Punk-Thrash

How to understand that? what does ''what you've heard before'' mean?

btw some kind of a stoner rock song with chester and corey taylor would be a great collab.

  5. Its a good song, will definitely be good for the live shows. However I can already see every band member just standing there on the stage, doing nothing else but playing their instruments, like they've done on their previous performances

well what else should the members of a band do on stage apart from playing their instruments? i think chester will go crazy on the new songs and this will bring the energy back that was missing in previous years and performances

  6. Most probably they dropped Rakim's part when they'll played live just like Amnd One or what Simple Plan does with Summer Paradise.

Also that's the part I don't like much combined with the metal/punk-rock genre that the song has

    o.O

or maybe mike raps it live..if you have noticed it, he's a MC

  7. Of course ATS was more adventurous. I dont think anyone would deny that.

I like the whole raw and unplugged vibe going on, but it still feels a step backward. Less experimental if you would.

I still dig it though, and this is only one song off the album, so who knows.

i would deny that because you need to be excited and somehow be impressed/scared to be on an adventure. ATS was interesting but never adventorous imo.

i think it's way more experimental than LT but not as much as ATS. nevertheless they lacked a bit of LP-idendity, power and live-music instrumentation on ATS, so for me, it's definitly a step forward for a fan of the old lp days. it feels finally like the evolution of HT

  8. Sounds a step back to me.

Although its fun to hear them this heavy, thees not much substance to this song. Its like their trying too hard to push this whole bringing back rock thing that Mike keeps banging on about.

Lyrics wise its a bland, but most LP songs are. And an outside collab on a studio album track feels weird lol.

I still enjoy it though, i just found songs off ATS way more adventurous and better sounding.

This heavy? they were a lot heavier on other songs in the past. this song is raw, aggressive and fast but not this heavy.

This is rock music at its best due to so much innovation. who else could play and produce this song? no other band. it's an LP unique one! it's clearly a step forward! 6 minutes we have only seen on Reanimation and LTGYA and now it's 6 minutes full of energy and power. that's rock!

i mean, it's your opinion but seriously, ATS better sounding than this? more adventurous?

  9. Have you guys ever listened to old-school punk music? Chester sounds a lot like some of the singers from that time, i mean loud (not necessarily agressive) vocals, over agressive music, and i think, that's exactly, what they went for on this song! And it works amazing! Can't believe this is the same band that made LT

it's far from old-school punk music but it's definitly rawer than anything in the past and his voice is crispy/punky throughout.

can't believe it either, it's amazing.

  10. holy lord of fucking jesus. finally something they made right.

to me this sounds like a more pop-rockish way of metallica and it's great. finally some jamming, difficult song structures along with guitar solos, nu-metal rapping, a powerful chester und a fast tempo (drums)

never been so exciting since the first given up snippet appeard

  11. Epic setlist is epic.

Maybe LIES GREED MISERY instead of Papercut or Somewhere I Belong and it would be the best setlist so far.

i go with LGM instead of SIB, but instead of Papercut?! A set without Papercut is not able to be the best setlist :P

The problem of OSC was due to Rob in the beginning and then everyone else thought differently what to play next. Fortunately, Brad just went for the outro after another intro. shit happens :D

  12. I'm so glad, that they finally dropped crawling. this song only makes sense in the way chester performed it 8 years ago. the reanimation intro is nice but you don't need to play it every fuckin' tour.

    imagine this:

    01. LOST IN THE ECHO

    02. Given Up

    03. Papercut

    04. From the inside (transition into)

    05. Figure.09

    06. When They Come For Me

    07. VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY)

    08. With You

    09. LIES GREED MISERY

    10. Points Of Authority

    11. Hit the Floor

    12. Numb

    13. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley)

    14. High Voltage

    15. Lying from You

    16. By Myself

    17. What I've Done

    18. No More Sorrow

    19. In The End

    20. Blackout

    21. Bleed It Out (Ext. Bridge w/ Beastie Boys 'Sabotage')

    ----------------------------------------------------

    22. The little things give you away

    23. Burn it down

    24. A Place for my Head

    25. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro)

Therefore i would spend my money. 2 hours of diverse music.

  13. HT > Meteora > ATS = MTM > LT

After a few days i can only say Living Things is (in German it would be 'ausgelutscht') so wasted and jaded. it's just simple pop rock with electronica, apart from a few exceptions (victimized or until it breaks) and not even close to their early material.

i can't stand the fact that nowadays, 80% of a Linkin Park concert crowd are holding a camera to keep the memorys of a 'such a fantastic super duper' day instead of celebrating heavy crossover music by moshing, dancing and jumpin as it used to be on a concert in their early days.

why did they gave that away? RaR 2001 or 2004 must be way more satisfying than playing Iridescent or In my Remains will ever be.

I know about their age but good and aggressive music can last into every age.
