look how much he loved the fans, and the band. Its crazy how people could throw so much hate on him during OML.

    He is missed

The hate was against the album the problem was that Chester was not in a good place and he was the only band member that decided to confront fans.. According to Sean he was so bummed that the album was a flop.

On one of his story highlights he says that Pooch and Tater were the ones that helped appoint him to the LP crew

For those who have seen the band in this new era.. how's the sound quality?

My impression from the stream is that it sounds clean, clear and massive

(im not talking about if Alex doesnt sounds like Brad or the key changes)

  4. Man sometimes I daydream about Chester I miss him everyday and it's cool that i found out a way in my heart and mind to love these two versions of the band, at the beggining it was weird to listen to Emily's versions and then Chester's og versions it felt like two different bands but now i feel like im listening to the same band.

He was the only rockstar of the band, having injuries and still going all out, hanging out with famous people, performing in rock and roll all star bands. He's one of a kind, pretty sure that he's the best vocalist of our gen.

Probably only Corey Taylor can compete w Chester.

For me OEO to Casualty to Overflow is one of the best triptych in a whole discography even if that songs on their own are not that best. Generally FZ album doesn't have one standout song like the best songs from LT or THP or MTM but as a whole record from start to finish it is much better than this albums imo.

On the weekends sometimes I like to listen all studio albums chronogically and last time I excluded OML from that experience and FZ fits fantastic after THP. I will stay with that. OML have such an outdated sound. I wish it was only NCSM/OML/FF EP or double single or something like that.

    OMS FUCKING SUCKS

I guarantee that you can create a 1000x better album combining every b-side and outtakes from every era.

    Fuck OMS.

Chester is in the show intros/interludes when they use Iridescent. Castle and Burn It Down appear to be just Mike's vocals. He's also in the APFMH verse 2 vocal sample Joe plays.

Dont forget Waiting For The End that's probably the highlight.

I left during MTM era because of the change in their sound. At that time, I could not even share it to my friends because they thought LP became a boyband due to the soft songs that album had. My friends will share that LP has the best trilogy (HT, Reanimation, Meteora). I had a room mate saying that LP's lead vocalist died during MTM era because he thinks Chaz sounded like a different person due to the minimal fry scream and more on melodic vocals.

I returned during New Divide era and heavily following the band's activities all the way to A Thousand Suns era. A bloke was laughing when I played The Catalyst and asked me if that's LP? and I replied Yes. This bloke responded, "What the hell happened to this band, bro? They used to be great, they sucked now".

    SO INSECUUUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Ryu thought he was on the normal version of the song and it was a Fort Minor comeback with him included. https://x.com/TherealRyu/status/612870898404622337

It's easy to see how this got out of control - it looks like Mike cut his verse and didn't tell him lol. He was even at the music video shoot for the song - he thought he was involved in all of this.

I didnt remember that he was at the music video shoot loooool

the problem with Ryu and SOB its that they always saw themselves as FM members... technically speaking they never were.. even in the tracklist it was always written (FEAT STYLES OF BEYOND)

Seems like Mike was going to do something big with FM after OML but you know what happened and everything changed.

    RIP FM.

Taking a look at your extended list here I had a few extra tracks to add in the conversation!

    • Its Going Down (Described as the 1st FM Track)
    • Its Going Down [AOL Session] (Unreleased)
    • WYG [Compiled from AOL Session] (Unreleased)
    • Sampler Mixtape (Exclusive Intro)

    Later FM stuff:

    • Get A Dog [FM Remix]
    • Already Over [FM Remix]
    • Remember The Name [Already Over Session]
    • Remember The Name [RTN AI Remix] (Twitch Session)
    • Ciggarettes [Live Remix] (Unreleased)
    • Welcome [Remix with Ryu] (Unreleased)
    • IOU [FM Version] (Unreleased)
    • Lift Off [FM Version] (Unreleased)

    Arguable ones:

    • Journey (SoB with Mike Vocals)
    • Wretches [Remix]
    • High Voltage [Live Remix] (Unreleased)
    • WYD [Adam Young Remix]
    • Wake Up Show Freestyle 2002
    • "Spell It Out" (Rock N Roll Could Never Hip Hop Like This)

I wonder what's the actual truth about Ryu on welcome

Was he part of the original song? Or was he part of the remix?

Because of his trash talking his friendship w Mike fell apart, they were really good friends i dont remember seeing a picture of them together..

it's the opposite for me. MTM was bashed heavily because the lacks of rapping. that's what fans noticed at the first place. it's huge contrast between Meteora & MTM. yes, rock loud music still there in MTM but rap verse it's like the missing ingredients. "the lack of Mike rapping what makes MTM boring, try to make solid rock record but failed attempt", i remember i read somewhere bout the music blogger back in the days commenting bout it.

dude MTM its the third most successful album of the band, thats just a fact not an opinion.

The only reason The Rising Tied didn't achieve the same success as those three albums you mentioned is that it wasn't released as a Linkin Park album.

Imagine Chester singing some of the songs and it being marketed as a Linkin Park album. It might have ended up being the third most important album in the band's discography due to a potential massive commercial success.

That's why I find it very naive when people on social media say that Linkin Park should have come back under a different name. The Linkin Park brand is huge, and The Rising Tied is an example of that because it's one of the best albums we have, yet it's not as widely remembered outside of our fan community.

    not sure about this

the LP fan base prefers rock oriented music, a full hip hop album would have been a flop.

thats why MTM was still a success it still had heavy songs, screaming and a bit of rapping.
