I have been following this band for 12 years, since I was 12 years old. Their music has provided me with so much joy and comfort in hard times. Chester's phenomenal performance on the song "One More Light" came out at the perfect moment. 5 days after the album came out, I found out that my grandpa had only a few months to live, and unfortunately, he passed away on July 8. I balled like a baby to the song. I want to thank Chester for all the good times and comfort during hard times. I saw Linkin Park only once. I lived in Mississippi, so all their shows were always hours away. My friends and I drove 10 hours to Tampa, FL to see them during The Hunting Party tour cycle and the show was everything I had ever hoped it would be. I wish the family, band, and all of the fans my best.
-
I saw the band live for the first time in Tampa during the Carnivores Tour, so I was pretty happy with the set list aside from the shortened songs; however, hopefully when I see the band live again, I do want more variety with the set list. I feel bad for all of you have seen very similar sets time and time again. I think the only singles the band "has" to play live is OSC, ITE, Faint, Numb, What I've Done, and Bleed It Out. I think maybe they could get away with rotating New Divide and Burn It Down. I really hope they bring back songs such as NMS, TLTGYA, WTCFM, In Pieces, By Myself. I don't know how likely it is. Then again, Slipknot has premiered songs from their second album that have never been played before during this touring cycle. I'm sure no one ever expected that either.
-
I'm glad that they are taking their time on this record. Also, I'm happy that in his letter to the band he said he wanted to continue with live instruments and experiment. I have always been a fan of hard rock, and enjoyed The Hunting Party (even though it hasn't aged as well as other albums) but I'm glad they are in a very creative mindset and want to experiment again.
-
Does anyone somehow have info on the show yet?
-
Interesting! The whole show or just a song or two you think?
-
It would be crazy if they played The Hunting Party in full and had all the features from the album; however, that's most likely not the case. I could see it being Aoki and Daron though since these two have actually performed with the band before.
-
I wish it would be By Myself. Not likely, but one can hope.

What was up with his tweet saying "remember. 307. Don't tell anyone. LPU..." I know he said don't say anything but can anyone that was in the chat explain. He posted it 20 minutes ago.
-
I think it's pretty cool how they are playing some of the rock festivals here in the U.S. It's kind of a change up to have them playing U.S. festivals that time of year instead of European ones. I know they played them last year, but still. This is their first year doing these kind of festivals in the U.S. if I'm not mistaken.
-
If LP were to play this tour, they'd need to play rock songs, hard Rock ones, which range from HT, Meteora, MTM, THP. No slow songs and no dances or dub step
I agree
-
This would be good in terms of there being a "make up" tour for the cancellation of the Winter tour. I just looked at Mayhem's website and there were 28 dates from last year's tour This would make up the 16 dates that were cancelled plus 12 extra. I would find it a little weird with LP playing since this tour has leaned towards artists such as Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, etc. However something like this would fit in with the whole "aggressiveness/heaviness" of this album cycle.
-
The chances of even one thing that I suggest on here being replicated live by LP are so slim...that they don't exist.
ACT I
1. Custom Mashup Intro (Session/The Requiem/Breaking the Habit/1stp Klosr/The Summoning/Tinfoil/Other samples of Joe and Mike; End with explosion sample from The Radiance and begin Mario Savio speech)
2. Wretches and Kings (Skin to Bone chorus over extended outro, repeat sampled drums from Savio speech break in bridge and increase tempo gradually, adding Rob's live drums to build up until the first note of GATS)
3. Guilty All the Same (I Have Not Begun/Nobody's Listening hybrid verse instead of Rakim's verse)
4. With You (Extended scratch intro; Extended outro with bass synth and improv by Rob, heavily focusing on the toms)
5. When They Come for Me (Extended intro from With You)
6. From the Inside (Extended Intro)
7. Rebellion (With Daron Malakian; I-E-A-I-A-I-O guitar solo with original bridge)
ACT II
8. Blackout (Intro and Partial Outro)
9. All for Nothing (Extended hi-hat sample intro)
10. In My Remains (A cappella bridge buildup)
11. Wastelands (Drum outro transition, gradual slow down)
12. Forgotten (Verse guitar over Wastelands drum transition)
13. Lost in the Echo (Extended Holding Company intro)
14. Easier to Run
ACT III
15. Robot Boy (Shortened Instrumental)
16. Waiting for the End (Wall of Noise outro)
17. Drawbar (Shortened)/Final Masquerade
18. Numb (Extended piano intro)
19. In the End (reversed piano Enth E Nd sample w/ Rocket in the Pocket sample intro)
20. Faint (Extended Outro w/ adapted Mark the Graves solo)
ENCORE
21. What I’ve Done (AMBO intro, extended solo)
22. A Place for My Head (Solo intro)
23. QWERTY
24. Burn It Down
25. Bleed it Out (Catalyst bridge)
Such a shame this could never happen. I really like the idea of the MTG solo replacing the one they usually do at the end of Faint. That would be brilliant!

I'm completely against a THP sound. There's hardly any electronic influence on the album, which is kind of a staple of LP's music. I didn't like that on THP. It's a one-time deal, otherwise there's no use in keeping Joe in the band imo.
This is a very good point. While I did like that this album had noticeable instrumentation, I feel kind of sorry for Joe. I wish they could find a good balance between the instruments and electronics. Also, I don't have a problem with typical song structures, but it would be awesome if they experimented with different structures, like they did with ATS. That was one of my favorite things about that album.
-
I'm very curious as to whether they will continue with THP sound. I would be okay with that, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind if they ventured off into another direction. Would you guys be opposed to another record that sounded like THP? Do you think they could improve that sound beside some of the lyrics?
-
Even though this tour cycle might not have many more shows left or different set lists for the remaining shows, I would love for them to rotate these sets:

"LP isn't holding true to their "visceral" tag because they aren't playing the songs I want to hear even though some of them are less heavy than these songs that I'm sick of hearing."
I don't see how you can make a legitimate argument that WTCFM, WFTE, In My Remains, and Until It's Gone are more "visceral" than In the End, Numb, or What I've Done. You're just sick of hearing singles and electronic stuff, so you'll throw labels on shit that doesn't actually apply to it so you have another excuse to peddle your opinion.
Remember the MTM/ATS era when LP would have like 6 to 8 slow songs in a row in the middle of every set and how much everyone hated it? What's left of that? They condensed LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent from 3 songs totaling about 14 minutes to a 5-minute medley. They dropped Breaking the Habit. They're playing a version of Castle of Glass with INFINITELY more energy than the original version (yes, it's electronic, but you're delusional if you think the put-you-to-sleep live version of the original COG had more energy). A bunch of other softer-dynamic songs like Burning in the Skies, In Pieces, TLTGYA, In My Remains, Jornada Del Muerto, and even The Catalyst haven't lasted in the set. Meanwhile, the last couple album cycles have seen the returns of Somewhere I Belong, Points of Authority, With You, Runaway (or at least part of it), Lying From You...plus you have Rebellion, Wastelands, and GATS in the set currently.
Yes, there could be more songs off the current album in there. Yes, the shortened songs are a bummer. But this is objectively the heaviest setlist LP has played since before Minutes to Midnight. The "slow shit" doesn't occupy HALF of the setlist space that it did 5-7 years ago. The Ballad Medley is the ONLY weak link in there in terms of being so soft that it kills the energy of the show. Everything else has its place, and the other issues plaguing the setlist (certain songs that shouldn't be shortened, Crawling being pointless and terrible, SIB/LFY being way too late in Set have NOTHING to do with the energy of the song selection.
If you hate the song selection, fine. But don't dance around it by saying the set would magically be better with fucking In My Remains in it instead of In the End, ROFL.
I agree with this. Though I was upset about the shortened songs, I really enjoyed Set A when I saw them on the Carnivores Tour. It was my first time seeing them though, so I probably would have been happy with anything. The sets they are currently playing are very high energy. I wish they would drop Numb, What I've Done, In The End, and New Divide, but let's be honest. These are probably here until the band stops touring, and it's understandable. These were there most popular songs. I do however wish they would go back to having 3 variations to a specific leg of the tour, just like the MTM/ATS era, but know it's more realistic for just 2. Maybe something like this:
HT:
Papercut
One Step Closer
In The End
With You/ POA rotated
By Myself/ A Place For My Head rotated
Meteora:
Faint
Numb
Breaking The Habit/From The Inside rotated
Lying From You/Somewhere I Belong rotated
MTM:
What I've Done
Bleed It Out
No More Sorrow
ATS:
Waiting For The End/ The Catalyst rotated
When They Come For Me/ W & K rotated
Living Things:
Burn It Down
Lost In The Echo/ COG (album version) rotated
THP:
Guilty All The Same
Until It's Gone
Final Masquerade
Rebellion
KTTK
Wastelands/War rotated
ALITS/MTG rotated
This still might not be an ideal setlist, but it has 4 additions of new songs, bringing back APFMH, By Myself, BTH, FTI, NMS, WTCFM, W&K, and The Catalyst. Do all these songs in full, and I feel like it would please a lot of us just through these minor changes. 23 songs in full would be between 90 and 105 minutes probably, just like a normal LP concert.

that would be weird !!
I'm just curious ha ha I mean, OSC and Faint have been closers quite often and then have been used as openers as well
-
Does anyone think we will ever see Bleed It Out as an opening song for a set??

My grandpa died on July 8 and I had just about stopped being consistently sad and then Chester died. Now I'm feeling real sad about Chester and my grandpa again. I've listened to "One More Light" a l lot, as well as Nobody Can Save Me and Leave out All The Rest. They are painful to listen to, but at the same time, it's helping with the healing process. Chester was my favorite singer. He was such an inspiration. I hope his family and band mates will make it through this. I hope all of you can too.
