  1. No, they didn't sell out. Anyone who suggests such a thing is... Well, to put it frankly, an idiot. They're making the music they want to make. That's the opposite of selling out.

Sell out : "Anyone who sacrifices artistic integrity in an effort to become more successful or popular (generally in music); someone who forgets their roots."

Metal and Hip-Hop don't sell today. That's why they changed, everybody know that. So i don't think i am an idiot. Go to the street, ask people if they prefer songs like part of me, lying from you... or Shadow of the day, Iridescent ? I'm sure that 90 pct will choose the second answer. I don't say they didn't want to make other things but if "rock/metal" in general was the most popular music they would not have made MTM and ATS.

When did they say that? if it was before ATS, it doesn't make sense to report it. And I don't think MTM is Chester's favorite album so far. I remember him saying "ATS is the only record we've made I like all the songs from"

Yes. For people who didn't see this interview, i post the link.

In Meteora era, he said that Meteora was better than HT. In MTM era, he said that MTM was their best album. And now in ATS era, he said that HT is better than Meteora and MTM but ATS is better than HT. It's just hilarious.

  2. You're not sounding like an asshole, rather like someone who doesn't even have knowledge about a band you bitch about. Just because the band is hated and not many talking about them anymore in the US does not mean they are bad nor irrelevant in other continents. In my opnion, Limp Bizkit did better stuff than Linkin Park in the past few years even if their promotion is so fucked up which isn't only their fault though (that's why they split from Interscope Records!). Anyone here have seen Limp Bizkit live in the past 3 years ? (Yes, this goes out to almost all non US people because they haven't been doing a real tour in the states yet!). EVERYONE, and i mean EVERYONE who saw a headline show will agree with me that they wish that Linkin Park brought this energy. Yes, I am stating that Limp Bizkit is still the band with the sickest concerts nowadays. Go on YouTube and watch live footage of songs you like (if there are any), you will always see the people going crazy and the band as well.

Lethal bitching about Chester via Twitter is not mature at all of course, I agree on that. However, I still am on the LB side, like it or not, they at least know what's up when it comes to bringing concerts with much energy.

    + 10000

I saw Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit the same day so I can really compare them. Limp Bizkit is much better than LP now.

  3. Linkin Park became sellouts as soon as Minutes to Midnight came out.

And i agree with spraypaintninkpens for some point but not at all.

For MTM they writing guaranteed radio hit songs. Pop is 1000 times more popular than Rock and Hip Hop. It's purely marketing. They just wanted to touch the masses for popularity.

Or for ATS it's different, Except Iridescent, there is no radio hit in this album. That's why i Prefer it. Of course nothing and nobody can take away the old stuff from us.

HT EP > HT > Meteora > ATS > MTM

And please people don't call LP Nu-Metal. LP is LP.

  4. His voice is changing, I agree. But if you listen to LPTV europe part 2, chester is singing a part of from the inside, and his voice is so strong there. While i get the feeling his voice isnt that strong at the show itself

Yeah man ! I made the same reflexion that you when he sings "Taaaaake".

Best performance for me ==> Milan 2001 and Kroq 2003

  5. Haimu... I don't even know why you keep on talking about LP !

I thougt you moved on and stop wasting your energy cause of this band.

But I think you just can't, criticizing Lp is your drug in fact (just kidding).

I'm just laughting about something... you said ATS was a good album and now you're saying it's an okay album ?

And I'm not making up you wrote an article about ATS and you put 14 if I'm not wrong.

Anyway, I think you're just wasting your time and you should move on.

I've got nothing against you, it's just an advice :)

I just wanted to see if LP still played old songs. Nothing nasty. I read comments and I wanted to support some people. That's all.

That never happened to you to find an album good then later to find it bad ? I have already explained you that the album was good in general for the lyrics but not the songs individually. I was very surprised at the first listening but after one year i don't think this album will stay in the memory...

And i don't give a hope for the future of LP, i will be fixed with the next album but I have accepted the fact that LP was dead you know, i just wanted to bring my support for some people here ;)

PS : I just remember before MTM when the LP fans were all together... Now this is the war between old and new LP...Music should unite us, not divide us.

  6. You don't have idea on what you are talking about. 50% of ATS, OMGG! New Divide and Not Alone. Prove me wrong and show a song that is similar to any of ATS, New Divide And Not Alone. They are all unique, don't deny that.

Hmmm ok I see the kind of "fan" you are. What are the other bands which you listen to ? Because if you think songs like New Divide, Not Alone, The Messenger, Iridescent... are "unique" and only LP can make that you must have a very limited taste in music.

I think the next album will be more of a fusion of everything they've done/learned over the past 15 years.

Brad says that he will play less guitar than in ATS so I don't think.

Sorry but it isn't true. Not Alone was a MTM demo or maybe a piece of it and New Divide is wrote of the base from What I've done.

Yes I Agree with you. I don't understand why you says "it isn't true".

  7. "Everyone knows my opinion when it comes to all the bitching, It really ruins this site."

It' call a debate man. You have to accept that.

And because I prefer HT EP, HT, Reanimation and Meteora so I am a bad fan ?

Do not believe that i am a stupid guy who say "WE WANT METAL, LP is METAL". If you looks into my Ipod, i listen Metal, Rock, Hip Hop, Techno, Jazz, Classical Music... and After Meteora I was the first who want to LP evolve...but not in this direction...

I'm not a big fan of ATS, musically it's a bad album (in my opinion "When They come For me" is the only great song of the album) but for me it's a huge step up from MTM and I'm okay with this. It's not nearly as good as the old stuff but I can live with it. Nothing and nobody can take away Hybrid Theory EP from me In my opinion, this is the masterpiece of LP. I give a chance at ATS because I thought they did some really nice experiments on that record instead of going the safe way and writing guaranteed radio hit songs for money like they did on MTM that did absolutely nothing for me.

My real problem is that Linkin Park used to be original and nothing else really sounded like them. Now they sound like everything else.

All band i listen evolved, but they don't loose their identity like Linkin Park. Compare the evolution of Deftones and you will understand that i mean. So try to make your own opinion and don't believe that at all Statements of the band.

And the last time i saw LP, the public was so bored, it's was fucking terrible. So try to understand why the old fans are totally disappointing.

Sorry for my bad English. I hope you will understand me.

  8. you can't just sa the dingles are the worst songs they've ever made. Yeah sure songs like Shadow of the Day, BITS, The Catalyst are crappy singles/songs (bits is ok) but not all singles are the worst songs they've ever made, there are a lot of good singles

Of course I exaggerated a little... i said that because somebody wrote " the singles are singles because theyre good songs, right? " The most of the time a single is wrote to make money.

  9. LP: catering to the mainstream/casual fan since 2007.

    You're so right man...

I saw LP two times and i think i would never see them again. It was difficult to accept for me but you should stop to hope people, they will play over and over the same songs. I have the impression that they prefer the "public at large"/"casual fans" that their true fans...and in my opinion the singles are the WORST songs that they made.
